Great food and service
Very good restaurant. It was packed before a Wednesday matinee and they had us in and out in plenty of time. The French onion burger is highly recommended!
It was a nice restaurant with great food served in a fine atmosphere. Everything was terrific.
Enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at La Rivage on a weekend visit to NYC taking in holiday spirit and shows. Our pre theater meals were delicious, the service outstanding and and was an altogether delightful time. IWe will return next time we go to Broadway!
Everything about the place was great! Service, food, and atmosphere. I ordered French onion soup, filet mignon, and ice, waffle, and cherry dessert and it was all outstanding. I hope to visit again soon!
Lovely dinner, very helpful and courteous wait staff.
What a wonderful time we had for a prefix dinner before our show. The waiters and staff were top notch. I had the beet salad, cordon blue, and chocolate mouse which was delicious. My husband had French onion soup, beef bourguignon, and a peach dessert. With coffee and wine, we were thrilled with our meal. When we come back to the city, we will revisit this super restaurant.
Fantastic escargot and salmon .
Nice atmosphere and great service .
Really enjoyed pre show lunch. All courses were tasty and the service excellent! Will be back
Food was absolutely delicious from Caesar salad to chicken cordon blue, beef bourgninon, chocolate mousse and creme brulee. Matinee price-fixe is still a good value even with the price increases. Service was friendly and prompt even though restauraunts was full.
We were amazed at how beautiful the place is and also our server was so so attentive to us... We sat in a cozy back room and we had the most delicious pre theater meal...
I had the trout and it was absolutely wonderful! creme brulee was out of this world and for an appetizer I had the pate... Oh my...as good as being in France!
Actually it was the best male we had in New York City! Go!
Great ambience, great wine selection. Prefixed menu but good options. Ellen the waitresses, great service and personality.
Le Rivage is my favorite French restaurant in Manhattan. We had a mini-class reunion there, which everyone enjoyed. To top it off, they had a fantastic jazz band playing there...try the trout and their escargots - and finish with their molten chocolate cake. Absolutely magnifique! Make sure you have their onion soup - best around. I suggest you try this restaurant after the theater crowd leaves around 7 or 7:30. It's the best time to go.
Great food & awesome prices for New York City. Restaurant row is the place to go. Every year we come to New York we eat here.
Great meal. 3 of 5 entrees were served. Waited over 5 minutes for the 4 th and a little linger for the 5 th
Waiter may have forgotten what two of the orders were as had to come back and ask us
No worries. We made the show on time and had a very good meal
Tables are very close together. Good location for pre-theatre dinner. Food is good, service is good. Value overall is reasonable for NYC.
We had the prix fixe lunch, I started with the escargots de bourgogne, which were out of this world! My friend had the beet salad which she raved about. For entrees we both had the pan seared rainbow trout with toasted almonds over mashed potatoes and string beans, absolutely delicious. I had the chocolate molten cake and she had the cheesecake for dessert, an outstanding lunch!!
We really enjoyed the food and ambiance of this restaurant. The fixed price menu gave you several options in each category as well specials to choose from. We found the food to be very delicious. Our servers were great and were very attentive. We plan on going there the next time we are in Manhattan.
Waiter was excellent. Food was very good. Like the prix fee menu. Restaurant is extremely crowded.
The prix fixe menu is lovely with many choices for appetizers, main course and dessert. I began my meal with the potato leek soup and my companion had the baked mussels. We both enjoyed our choices. She had the calves liver, cooked perfectly and I had filet mignon. I ordered it very rare and they it was cooked to perfection. (There is a $10 up charge for the filet.) We both ordered the bread pudding with creme anglaise and a raspberry swirl. Against delicious. The wait staff was cordial and attentive. We will be back.
Le Rivage never fails to disappoint. Whenever I am in New York, this is my go-to place. I have had brunch, lunch and dinner there and never leave without rave reviews.
I love the fixed price meals because the portions are so generous, and I leave full every single time. The varied selection offers something for everyone and the quality of the food is spectacular.
The people who work at Le Rivage all seem to love being there. Although it is a very busy place, I always feel special while dining there. Never rushed.
Good pre fixe. Many choices including specials.
Loved the restaurant food and service! Trout was fabulous As were the mussels. Price fix was good and service perfect to get us out for our show. Apple tart was excellent but wish it was heated.
Our party was seated quickly, we enjoyed ever. Food served promptly, hot and with a great dollar value.
Great food, great value and a hidden gem on 46th street. Weather before the theater, a date, special occasion or just in the mood for some great French food I always have fun here great food for a great price.
Went with Francophile friend. They loved it too!
Excellent service, delicious food, romantic atmosphere
Le Rivage is truly a gem on Restaurant Row! If you're looking for a "French" experience -- you'll find it here. You're greeted warmly, seated comfortably in a charming setting, and fed the most delicious menu of French specialties. A perfect spot for a pre-matinee lunch or dinner before or after the theatre.
Food is great! Cream brûlée is the best ! In every restaurant it’s my favorite desert! This one is above my expectations!Great!
Always consistent. Great service. Old school with very good food, quickly prepared, producing an outstanding product. Added comfort level...the owners are always there greeting and overseeing. Prix fixe very affordable. Adequate wine list. Worth the try if you are in the theater district near restaurant row. Classic ambiance.
solid fare with reasonable prices, a bit noisy, but wait staff moves things along to ensure everyone is out in time for theater
Absolute delight
we were pretheater, service was delightfully efficient, the dishes were uniformly delicious and well presented. We had a venison dish, veal liver and fillet steak excellently prepared.
We were old fans of Cafe du Soire on 86th street which we understood had taken over the space, the quality has not diminished, although the prices have increased.
Dining at Le Rivage was a wonderful experience. The food, service, ambiance couldn’t have been better and since we were there at a quiet time of day, it was very easy for my friend and I to chat. This one of the best bargains in New York City!
Host, hostess and service staff were all pleasant and professional. Nice cozy restaurant with good food. Everyone at my table liked what they ordered and we all ordered something different. I would go back.
Food was rather bland.
We love love love Le Rivage! I've been many times and it never disappoints. The food and staff are amazing!
Had the fixed price for lunch which was delicious and very reasonable. Food was perfectly prepared and service was very good. The vegetable quiche was excellent and would definitely go back. Tables are close but despite the sizable number of diners pre-matinee, conversation at normal levels was easy.
The food was delicious and plentiful. We had a very friendly and expeditious server, Sergey. He was nice and efficient. This is great place to grab a pre-show dinner.
We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, attentive service & delicious menu items. It was a wonderful prelude to a great night of theater.
