   I just love this little gem of a place. I have been dining here for many years and the place just keeps getting better. I dined yesterday with a good friend of mine and her son. From start to finish, everything was divine. The service was impeccable, the Sancerre was chilled perfectly, the Escargot beyond delectable and the Chicken Cordon Bleu (which I always get) is prepared in the most delicious way. Save room for one of their incredible desserts too. I leave always thinking about when I can return! Thank you again for such an outstanding culinary experience.

   The food was excellent. Service was solid, if a little slow. The only complaint I had was that the wait staff told us it would be a price fixe menu with a set charge, but then the check billed everything individually, so it was much more expensive than we anticipated.

    My friend and I had a wonderful dining experience at Le Rivage. We enjoyed the pre-theater prix fixe menu and had trouble picking from all the fabulous choices. The ambience was lively, charming and romantic. The food was excellent. Service was great — constant water and bread refills. I’ll be back!

    Le Rivage has for years been my favorite place. I would suggest eliminating the $70 dinner prix fixe for pre theater. It’s the same as the $45 lunch prixe fix. The table placement is back to pre Covid, so very close.

    We've been going to Le Rivage for years. The meals generally are quite good. My French onion burger last night was okay, although the meat wasn't cooked exactly right. But really, overall, the three of us liked what we had. What threw me is a sudden price jump. Yes, restaurant meals have gone up. That's not a surprise. But as I recall, the prix fixe menu was $45 a person last time we were there, a few months ago, and now it's $70pp. That's quite a jump! And while we found them to be a good value in the past, $70 per person plus drinks (and I just mean soft drinks--coke and iced tea) plus a tip came to almost $300. That's a bit steep.

    I have been coming to Le Rivage for years, and the restaurant has never disappointed. The food is exquisitely prepared and presented, and the service is professional, skilled, and friendly. I have always loved the cosy ambiance, highlighted by beautiful paintings displayed in dramatic, but not overpowering, lighting. The miniature white lights, new since my last visit, add to the festive yet intimate atmosphere, and I think they should remain a part of this lovely establishment. I look forward to my next visit

    Many prior visits. Disappointed in the changes to menu. The beet salad was my favorite. This time it was awful. Brought one wrong entre to our table. Got us out promptly for the theater. Should have some Ala carte choices. I raved to friends and then was disappointed and embarrassed about it.

    Classic French comfort food, welcoming and professional staff, elegant yet comfortable and inviting ambience, thoughtful table placement, unhurried attentive service. The orange duck (with flambe!) was perfection. The piano player and singer are talented but also appropriately moderated in volume for the space. Everything at this restaurant was just right, and this speaks volumes about the care and pride of management and staff because when things are this right it is no accident.

    Our first time visiting was with our kids before a Broadway show. This is exactly what a French bistro should be. Very welcoming and warm. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. This will be our go to Midtown spot from now on.

    Really close to theater, so super convenient. The waiter was very helpful and attentive even though the restaurant was packed. Reservation required. The prix fix menue was comprehensive. We got bisque and french onion. The bisque was savory and the French onion was mellow. The bread was good but you gotta get two servings. Mussels mariner(?) So many! Fresh flavorful. Really popular too we saw many servings through out. Beef bor...(slow cooked beef) over bow tie was nice, could a been more tender but tasted good. The creme brulee was amazing. Portions were nice and while loud it felt cozy to us. Go and enjoy.

    We were rushed through the meal, finished in a little over an hour (1.5 hours before the start of our show). The paté was fair. The Beef Bourgogne was excellent. The Chicken Cordon Blue was very good. The Crem Buleé was tasteless and watery. The chocolate mousse was delicious.

    Le Rivage made my birthday weekend in NYC all the more special. It was a pre theatre meal and was absolutely fantastic! Lisa and the other concierges were attentive and delightful. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Le Rivage, for making our weekend special.

    It was ok. I felt that the meal was rushed. The food was average. Not hot enough, tasted ok but nothing special. Most French meals are served with a great deal of presentation but not here. Just average and would not return.

    Wonderful restaurant. One of the coziest French restaurants you will find. The food is superb — very French with no strong flavors. It’s all just right. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. A great experience all around — and live jazz starting at 8:30! Superb 😊 Oh and try the ratatouille— it’s divine

    This place features a very traditional French menu. The seafood Crêpes are amazing. Likewise with the Bisque. I normally don’t get steak in a French restaurants as it typically is not their forte but the steak frites was excellent. Topped off everything with mousse au chocolat and call it an excellent night of high quality food. Our server knew his stuff and was likewise excellent. Ambience is nice with the tables being very small and cramped together - pretty typical for nyc of course. Would definitely go back.

    Menu is misleading. It was a pre-theatre meal. One side of the memo said 3 courses for $70. The opposite side of menu had selections had no pricing. We were actually charged over $220. With our choices this was an extra $40. As a French onion soup lover I was very disappointed with the soup. The cheese had a burnt taste and the broth lacked onion seasoning and bread. Steak was cooked perfect but did have a lot of very burnt areas. Good meal and nice ambiance but not worth the hefty price tag

    This place is great! Filet mignon is wonderful as is the rainbow trout almondine. The wait staff is on point. My glass was refilled without having to ask as was my coffee cup. If I lived in Manhatten I would go there frequently and try the rest of the items on the menu. Several of the staff are native French speakers which adds to the ambience. The decor is also very appealing. The walls have many painting which have a French flavor. All things considered, it was a lovely, intimate dining experience that my wife and I will long remember.
