Le Rivage - Boca Raton
Paul made an apprenticeship in a two stars restaurant at the Michelin guide in France. He worked in Cannes at le Festival, Hotel Martinez Concorde and the famous Carlton Hotel.
He has been in Boca Raton since 1984 as a chef at Chez Marcel and later Chef and Partner at Marcel’s French Restaurant. He opened Le Rivage in December 2005.
Chef Paul Collange offers a selection of timeless French classics in a warm and friendly environment, which is sure to delight your senses and your palate.
This is a tried and true restaurant with excellent french food. The atmosphere is lovely, but tired and in need of updating. The waitress was brutally honest regarding what to and not to order, which makes me wonder about the chef being perhaps strong willed or set in his ways. This takes nothing away from the preparation, the sauces, the presentation and the deliciousness of the meal.
Le Rivage has its regulars and they love it for exactly the reasons I mentioned above - they know exactly what is on the menu and what to expect from each dish. That is why you go - to have your expectations met, not to find innovation in dining.
Would I recommend it? Yes, just to the right diner!
Great experience as usual. Best value for great French cooking. Chef Paul👍👍
Delicious food and delightful service in a pleasant surrounding. Food and wine are priced fairly.
We found the food to be very good & the service as well. Although, the decor is in need of an update. It is a small place, which is not in itself a negative, but is lacking the warm & intimate feel that would suit the excellent menu.....A very easy fix.
Good authentic French food. The service was great considering it was a busy Saturday evening.
Great to dine on well prepared French classics.
An excellent dining experience. Great service. Vast menu and delicious food. We will be back❣️
Neighborhood gem. Consistently excellent food and service. Considering the quality the specials are well worth it.
Great as usual. Immaculate! Enjoyed the ambience. My favorite French restaurant and my favorite restaurant!
Have been coming here for several years and have never been disappointed. The escargot are the best (ate way too much bread to soak up the butter!). As usual, my Dover sole was outstanding. On my recommendation, one friend ordered the veal medallions w/sauce and thanked me. Hubby and other friend both had the lamb chops (served with garlic per hubby's request). The desserts are to die for. You simply can't go wrong. We always ask to sit at Paulette's table as she's a wonderful server. We were celebrating 2 birthdays -- this is the place to be.
With a varied French menu, consistently excellent and fair pricing this is a best bet and one of our favorites. An older crowd is in full force and they tend to talk too loud when their hearing aide batteries fail.
Uncharacteristically our waiter was inattentive and was too busy gabbing with patrons from Canada to remember to refill our wine glasses or check if we needed anything else. The hostess had an attitude problem when we advised that no one answered the phone at 5:30 pm. Other than gesturing in the general direction of our table she was a happily a non-entity in our dining experience. Thus The reason for our diminished service rating.
But the food all 10s!
The escargot was classic, we dipped our bread to sop up all of the remaining butter in the six crevices that formerly held succulent snails that were cookies to perfection.
Although the specials commanded our attention bronzino ( Mediterranean fish) or rack of lambs. We stuck to our preconceived selections as our taste buds were already warmed up. We both opted for the duck with cherries. It was properly well done and the sugar in the cherries had been reduced as not to compete with our wine selection. We could eat here every night and enjoy a different dish. A foodies delight.
Too bad great food contains calories.
We had a very good dinner. It’s a bit noisier than we like but we enjoy the food, so we w come back.
Wanted to celebrate good health.
consistently good and great value. my favorite restaurant in boca raton
Wonderful food, great service, excellent value
Can’t wait to return
Wonderful food and Great Paulette and Nellie Service.
Very good food great
Great for Senior citizens
Fabulous dover sole. Service excellent. Presentation excellent.
Great service, great food and overall wonderful dining experience
Nice cozy French classics restaurant with good service, very low key, but the Chef knows what he is doing. Perfectly cooked apps and entrees. The sirloin and rack of lamb were beyond delicious. Needs a bit of work on his apps presentation, but you cannot miss on taste here. Very reasonably priced with a varied pre-fixed menu. Lots to like here and it is a little hidden gem. Try it, you will like it. Will be going again. Nice portions as well.
We live in Sunny Isles Beach the service excellent; & the overall experience superb. Merci beaucoup. C’etait in pleasure!
A favorite of ours for many years. Never disapoints.
We took friends twice & loved it. Very traditional French. Lovely presentation with whipped potatoes
asparagus stick, squash mousse with each entre. Bread is very good. Salad is fresh. Husband loved the
Lobster bisque, I loved the vegetable puree soup. Friend loved the escargot. Apple tart was delicious.
Friend loved the creme brûlée. Poir Helene was canned pear & not heated. Pass on that. Tea with honey
was lovely. We will definitely return. Strip mall is ugly. Restaurant inside is old fashioned but adorable.
Nice linens, soft lighting. Very French.
As always, another wonderful dining experience at Le Rivage. The Chardonnay sauce on my fish was so special. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
We enjoyed our evening very much. The wine list is very nice with reasonably priced bottled. The complete dinner is much more food that we need, but can’t resist. Starters were soup, lobster bisque and French onion. The salad has very nice lettuces and the house dressing is good. Entrees were salmon with dill sauce and a special of halibut with ginger sauce. The fish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The plate includes mashed potatoes, a carrot soufflé, asparagus spear and a sautés spinach. Dessert choices were many, but we both love the floating island. Excellent!!!!
Excellent Dover sole. The whole meal was really good starting with vichyssoise, salad and nice vegetable sides with sole.
One of our favorites for years. jnhybnlkjnublkygvbgi8sdmvzp 'eotymhgisvnfybert;ob nehus
I discovered this fine restaurant in January and I have been there five more times since then.
Excellent avec l'accueil chaleureux du Chef.
Diner au ravage est une toujours une excellente soiree.
Desserts were delicious
Not in a very attractive location.
The decor could be updated.
Waitress was glum but efficient.
Delicious but you need to allow time for preparation. All dishes were prepared well
Great all around
Always consistently good food and service and value.
Very well prepared escargot and sweetbreads. Salad needed more inspiration. Bread should be proper baguettes and or French inspired which they were not. Dessert was delicious. Service was proper. Definitely plan to return soon.
Everything was wonderful. Food was delicious, service was superb and the price was the best
We were 12 at a round table for 12, a rare event. The menu offers a wide choice of entrees as well as a a varied menu of the day at $37. The quality of the food is excellent and reflects, like the wine menue, a true french restaurant. We were 12 french Canadians and were served in french all evening by a very charming lady who even told us a joke to add to the humorous atmosphere of the group. I had the foie gras poêlé which was excellent as well as the braised lamb shank just as savory. The desert was varied and all good. All of the 12 guests, each at their first visit, enjoyed their meal and will be back. This is probably the best price/quality restaurant in Boca! Highly recommanded!
We were seated next to a large group (3 tables) that a included a young toddler. He continually screamed and not only distracted us and kept which should have been an enjoyable after theater dinner but also visibly upset our server, who had both parties from giving us the service we had come to expect from Le Rivage. The appetizers came out piecemeal and she had to back two and three times to complete the entrees.
