Le Relais de Venise - Soho (London)
A small selection of hand-picked wines accompany the meal and there is a selection of cheeses and a dessert list with profiteroles, meringue and other ice cream confections, all freshly made on the premises.
If you want a delicious steak frites with a tasty salad starter, this is the place to go to. Simple and delicious.
Had a great time, lovely food and excellent, friendly service. Looking forward to my next visit.
Celebrated my husband’s milestone birthday and enjoyed every savory bite! It was absolutely delicious, as usual.
It was great! Definitely one of my favorite foods in the world!!!
Simple food but done exquisitely, La Relais de Venise was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Staff were delightful and the food incredible, we will be back!
Just like Paris but English/French speaking waitresses makes it easier and more comfortable experience. Had free champagne for celebrating an occasion there♥
The same format as the paris original. Salad then steak and fries with mustard sauce. Choice of desserts includes very English sticky toffee pudding. Service slowed when full. Tables well separated for this price in London
I’ll leave it short and sweet. This spot needs to be on your bucket list!
Rude staff and the price was extortionate
best steak house in London.
One item on the menu - and great house wine.
Very difficult to find anything that could disappoint. It's steak and chips, but not as we know it. The starter is a simple salad of lettuce and walnuts with a very tasty mustard dressing, The steak is tender and the sauce tasty. Your steak is cooked for as long or short a time as you require - and it comes twice! There are puddings, but the cheeseboard is to die for - so why try anything different. Oh, and the wine list is very restricted, but the house red is as good as you would want and matches well. If you haven't been and are not a vegetarian, then you must try it - you will not be disappointed.
We booked this restaurant on open table for my sons 21st birthday as we had been to one of this chains restaurants in Paris and really enjoyed it. We were sat at the worst table in the restaurant right next to the kitchen, noisy and cramped while people who had not booked were sat at much better tables. We asked to move but were told we would have to join the queue of people who hadn’t booked and were waiting for tables to free up. Staff were not particularly friendly and were going through the motions. We couldn’t wait to finish. Lesson learnt ‘don’t book though open table’. The restaurant doesn’t seem to like it and will punish you!!
There was a couple who stank like weed right next to our table. Staff did nothing about it. This ruined tho whole experience for us and we ended up leaving early without finishing wine / food since it was impossible to eat in this atmosphere. We had to pay a big bill for being pretty much forced out from the place.
Fave steak-unrivalled sauce! Always a must when we visit London
I'd much enjoyed the City restaurant, several times. The food was excellent and the service brisk and friendly, but not brusque. This experience felt commoditised, an essentially failed attempt to repeat a winning formula: service brusque, big sense of time pressure (not least because the slots are clearly outlined on the website), food not as good as I had recalled, tables crammed in to give the impression that finances dominated over the dining experience, and generally not a great experience. Actually, a rather sad meal, as I have often recommended the City version to friends as well as enjoyed it myself - this was like a favourite niche shop being taken over by private equity or a large chain.
Could be so much better if focused on customer experience as much as steak
Great waitress. Great food. The best
The waitress was rude and not customer centric, which is a shame.
Food is not as good as it used to be. I will probably try another restaurant.
Delicious meal and great, attentive service. Will definitely be coming back!
Food isn't the same at the other venues in Paris and NYC. The sauce and meat tasted much different, and it wasn't as good.
The steak was cooked perfectly but lacked any flavour. If it did have flavour it was not noticeable as it was covered in a green sauce. The sauce was delicious. French fries tasted of the oil. Staff were good but the tables so close to together that the rather ample person sitting next to me may as well have sat on my lap.
Good food and wine as always. Somewhat miserable waitress who was defiantly not french
£24 for 6 measly slices of steak, dodgy sauce (what is it even) and chips! Nah. Trying to be something it’s not. Rushed, overpriced, and not even that friendly service. Looks like a bistro, but far from it.
I was recommended to try your restaurant and booked without reading the website details. Although the meal was excellent I was somewhat disappointed because I was expecting a whole steak.
I went to the Paris branch of this restaurant and had a great experience. Did not have the best experience here. Even though we had a table booked had to wait to be seated for a while. Service was slow. And we found portion sizes small.
Price went up. The unique formula used to be sub the £20 mark. Shame. The half bottle of red is still good value. Service is good even accommodated for my guest who I discovered on the spot was a veggie. £2.50 for the walnut salad. not bad.
I have been to the same restaurant in Nantes, France. Was very happy that they had the same menu and most importantly, the steak sauce!
Food amazing as always.
Always good! Highly recommended! One of the best places in London .
We love the food! An all time favorite. Our waitress was very good, very positive and accommodating.
Expensive for a set menu desserts very disappointing would I go back NO
Great food, was busy and a bit loud but to be expected on a Friday night! Staff were friendly and attentive and very nice
Overall it was a good experience. Simple menu (apart from the desserts). Well dressed salad to start with. My wife requested hers with no walnuts, not a problem. Steak was excellent, well cooked and served in two helpings. Fries were plentiful. The secret sauce was OK but not wow. If we went again we'd both have the steak minus the sauce. Great bottle of rose. Splendid desserts I had the profiteroles my wife had the gateaux. A rich, fine finish to a good meal. Service was very good. Price was reasonable especially for Central London. We will go again...
I first visited this restaurant in Paris and was so excited to learn it was also in London. I have been many times and the food never disappoints.
Fantastic lunch deal of £20 for starter and a main (2 servings) and a glass of wine. Service can sometimes be a little slow but this is never an issue as the food is just so outstanding.
Will return again as it’s one of my favourites.
Food is still great but it’s not the value for money it once was. In and out in 45 minutes and £70 for two with wine is not value any more.
Was running late but the restaurant still kept out table.
Busy but was attended to very well
Would go again
Average service, steak was cooked to my liking. Staff will top up your plate when you have finished your first serving if desired. Desserts were okay but wouldn’t recommend. Interesting concept but wouldn’t return.
Amazing food! Used as a stepping stone for when my girlfriend and I go back to Paris. Will definitely be dining in the Paris branch next month! Highly recommend this lace whether it be for a business meeting, lunch with friends or a romantic evening!
Another outstanding meal at this restaurant. They take reservations which the other locations don’t. Great food—don’t miss an opportunity to go!!!
