I thought the new menu was good and most of our party of 7 enjoyed their dinners.
However, the restaurant was careless about specific food allergies and had to recook one person's dinner. In addition, they made a mistake on the bill and charged us twice for one meal. It was difficult to get butter, refill on water or special requests. The waiter was either busy or inattentive. Perhaps these are some of the kinks in new ownership or a busy Saturday night. I might give it one more try in a few months, because the food was good.
The food and service ere outstanding. The only negative was that the temperature in the restaurant was quite warm until we asked if the AC could be lowered. Once that occurred the dining experience was great. Will definitely return and will consider the Sunday Brunch option as well.
Disappointed. I used to frequent the original restaurant located a few blocks away. The place had a cozy, old world charm, and the menu was always a treat of French dishes. The new location is not cozy, the high ceilings make for much noise, and the service while attentive, did not make up for the so so food.
Great food. Nice setting. Excellent service. On miracle mile...
We were disappointed with the food and the service
I do not believe i am going back
To many good restaurants around to pay a high price
and mediocre food
The food were delicious, services were super good. The owner and staffs were very friendly. Even my kids loved the place. I lived in California, visited Miami on Spring break and wanted to look for a good place to eat. We were very happy that we chose this restaurant. Definitely will come back the next time we visit Miami again.
My friend and I went for Easter. Beautiful spot and most delicious crepes I’ve ever had!
Excellent food and service. Everything ordered from the menu was superb. Brunch is a great value and ideal portion sizes. Will definitely go back soon!
The food, service was amazing. Thank u to Roger and Tommis for making my bday dinner so special. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone
Great lunch experience. Stephan and Paola were great waiting on us.
Food was good, especially the prawns , the onion soup and the creme brulee.
Please to visit , next time will be for dinner!
Excellent food!!
Excellent restaurant, wonderful food and service - fresh and well prepared ingredients. One of the top restaurants in Coral Gables no doubt!
Great food and service.
Food was delicious but the service was atrocious. This former neighborhood gem is now a looser. These clients for over 20 years will not be returning anytime soon.
They are still getting their act together after change of owners. Food is still very good and authentic, albeit much less in quantity, and staff is attentive; but the warm hominess, after redesign, has been replaced with a very modern tone. No more colors of Provence. No table cloths. No salt and pepper on tables. Water glasses are very small tall and narrow. Maybe it fits better with the trendy design to which Miracle Mile was subjected. 20 tables for 2 lined up against a banquet bench isn't my idea of intimate French dining with my wife , but adds for flexibility of party size I guess. I'll try again in a few months after they settle in. If I want trendy, techno beat, modern... no I will never want trendy techno beat modern.
New ownership has done a beautiful refurbishment. Food was outstanding from preparation to delivery. Only deficiency I can comment on is a lack of sufficient wait staff. Hopefully that will be corrected. Will definitely return.
Carlos has done a spectacular job with this Coral Gables institution. The food and wine are absolutely amazing. The service is very warm and friendly. This is my favorite spot - period.
New ownership has done a great job. The food is excellent and may be better than before. Prices are a little higher than before, but given the quality of the food, they’re inline with other Coral Gables restaurants. I will definitely go back.
This restaurant should have been fantastic, but the flavors of the food were lacking. The decor was beautiful and the service outstanding.
First time there and great experience superb meals kudos to chef, but if someone is looking for cheap place just walk by on ......
Excellent food and excellent service!
Excellent experience both food and hospitality at a reasonable price
We are used to the authentic French Restaurant that the Provençal was. The atmosphere is cold and sterile. Before, you felt like you were in France for an evening. Not anymore. The food was acceptable but serving potato chips as a starch is not acceptable. The lamb was requested medium, it was medium well. They had one non alcoholic beer left. Overall disappointing bc we really miss FRANCE and Danny.
Not coming back!
New ownership, supposedly same chef (Jean Pierre) and it was all dissapointmet after dissaointmenrt! ! Waitress was nice but food was absolutely disgusting! And the manager was very rude...,.not to mention he has no clue about how to court their customers!
Let start counting months....my bet: 8 months tops! And bye bye.
The food wasn't great and for the price of it it should be outstanding . My shrimp was a little over cooked. The sides were small
The waiter was obsequious but didn't gave an opinion on one thing or another.
Have dined there twice and will come back again. It is all new, the ambience is beautiful. The food is delicious and a very varied and creative menu. Great service and our server even suggested sharing dishes, nice to be able to taste more things.
everything here was good...the only feedback I gave to the server was that it was way too bright and the music at times a little too loud...otherwise...excellent
The food was good as was the service. But the drink my husband ordered at $12.00 was quite skimpy so he said he would not come back.
This restaurant was a gem before it was renovated. Now it has no character. The "background" music was so loud that we had to request that it be lowered because we came to dine and talk, not for a concert. The service was very poor (except when the manager came by to help out). The food was not up to the previous standard. The high prices were totally unjustified. We do not plan to come back.
Le Provencial recently underwent a transformation to a more contemporary atmosphere and cuisine while still staying true to its French roots. Located a few doors from the Gables Stage it is a perfect location, and now with their pre-theater menu, a great choice for dinner before the show. The pre-theater menu is a bargain at $24 for a first and main course. We started with a cram of vegetable soup - well seasoned with pureed vegetables. There were 3 choices for the main course all well prepared and beautiful presented. The skirt steak with shoestring french fries, roasted chicken with vegetables and salmon with lentils. Service was attentive but un-rushed and we were finished in plenty of time for theater. We look forward to returning on another occasion when we will explore their regular menu.
Not having a dessert menu was desapointed.
The food was fine but the tables were very small (round tables) with 4 chairs. We were two people and was workable but not the norm for a fine restaurant.
They claimed to be a new ownership but the menu looked the same.
it was nice
we have been there before and there are some changes in the food like not so frenchy taste
I ordered to go and took for ever for them to have it ready and was a very small portion than i thought
Love the food, always delicious. The Cesar salad was very tasty and the duck was scrumptious!
Remodeled restaurant lacks charm and warmth of previous decor. Techno music does not work for me either. Food was excellent as it always is. Compliments to The Chef !
Great food and atmosphere; wonderful service!
Services was pretty slow. I kept having the impression that they were understaffed in the kitchen but even the drinks took a long time to receive after the order. The food was great though. Good quality, great tastes.
I am glad to see Le Provencal reopened. The menu is somewhat different than before the closed for renovations, but the food is excellent. They have the same chef as before. The music was a little loud, and it is not as quaint as it was before the remodel, but it is nice. It is worth a visit, especially for dinner.
STUPENDOUS!!!!!!!!!!!I i just had a 3 hours dinner/dessert, all appetizers and wine and champagne and it was AMAZING!!! WE started with a full bodied french red, (see pic for label) the traditional garlic and wine/butter sauce escargot, very nice, then the terrine de foie gras, onion orange marmalade . We loved it, on its own. it did not need bells and whistles, then we had the carpaccio, I added salt and pepper,. it was terrific. Now mind you by now we have shared a WONDERFUL bottle of wine, and have decided on the Chocolate souffle and a 1/2 bottle of Perrier Jouet ... like SERIOUSLY , the most amazing thing EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! This restaurant is a MUST stop...I did not even get to mention the service!! We were catered to like VIPS! and it seems everyone is! I can't praise them any more ....5 stars!!!
We were in Miami pre-cruise and tried Le Provençal and are so glad we did. It was a little bit of French heaven. Everything was delicious and we would suggest to anyone who likes French food. Very authentic!
We go to Le Provençal on a regular basis. It's consistent and the atmosphere is happy and pleasant. It's like going to France for the evening. Must at least try it.
