We sat in the back courtyard for brunch, there was at oat 2 other tables with patrons during our tome there. Very nice, shaded and quiet. Wish I could give the service 6 stars. Our server was so sweet and pleasant, helpful in answering questions. We had the Quiche Lorraine and the lamb burger, both were cooked perfectly, fresh. Then had the Nutella crepes, awesome. Perfect before our broadway matinee.
My wife and I visit Le Privé on Saturday night for a fantastic French dinner. The food was c'est magnifique! Portions large and exquisitely prepared. Prices exceptionally reasonable for the quality, taste, and service. The only problem was I was too full to try the mousse e au chocolat. Fortunately, there is always a next time. I shall return!
Great local favorite but a little on the expensive side
Nice outdoor dinner in a quiet area. I recommend it.
Food was good, but expensive. Wait staff overcharged some of us.
This was our first time dining at Le Prive and everyone in our group loved it! The food, drinks and service were all fantastic...we will definitely be back! Highly recommend the Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon Ends and the Moules Frites!
Really enjoyed our first visit. We had brunch on the patio in back and it was terrific. Service was wonderful!
Excellent food and excellent service. I would definitely go back again.
1. Air conditioning was broken so we had to move to a table outside. 2. Food was overcooked. 3. Service was very good. 4. Menu choices were fairly limited. 5. The space is beautiful, I wanted to love it.
Everything was delicious and the mac and cheese is wonderful....the beignets are a must ......this is about my 8th time there and I have never been disappointed.
Absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to go back! Get the cheese plate and the chèvre salad. Some of the sides were fabulous too (parsley purée and potatoes au gratin) All really, really wonderful. And our server was lovely.
After complaining at the restaurant and then sending a letter to management over 2 weeks ago we received no reply, no apology, no nothing which only shows how unprofessional and incompetent this place is. Beware
The food was delicious and the portions were typical size but very filling. The staff were very friendly and solicitous.
They have two outside area for dining. One is a lovely garden area in the back and there is seating out front too. Inside was very nice but it was a beautiful day so who doesnt want to eat outside! I got Steak with poached eggs. I wish the steak was less fatty but it was still good. Hubby ordered salad nicoise which was very tasty. I got an aperol spritz which was good but $16 for lunch .....ouch! She brought us a small glass of port to end our meal which was a very nice touch!
Awesome service. Friendly and food is awesome
The bar staff was very kind and professional. The ambiance was great, good value for money.
Salmon was delicious...
I just got engaged and my mother and I were celebrating. The waitress brought over champagne and made it so special. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Maybe the worst lunch I've had in Hell's kitchen. Just uninspired, expensive, and slow.
Fantastic and authentic French experience which mirrors that of a classic French brasserie. Staff are French as well as the menu. Sat outside for the terrace atmosphere and was very pleased! Very reasonable prices as well.
Charming décor, excellent service and food, only negative, portions were very small, prices high.
All started well for the three of us (longtime friends and lovers of French food). The bread with an herbal olive oil dip was delicious. Appetizers remained on a high level (scallops with celery remoulade, escargots, and a special of heirloom tomatoes with French feta).
It all went downhill with the main courses: moules frites, salade nicoise, and salmon. All had massive flaws, except the frites which were very good. The mussel broth tasted like salted water, the salmon was very poorly cooked (tasted precooked and then warmed), and the tuna on the salade nicoise was inedible (again pre-cooked and mimicking cardboard).
The staff was very gracious and replaced the salad with a new one with salmon (this time cooked perfectly).
I wanted to like this restaurant, but was so disappointed in the inconsistency. One might do do OK with appetizers, frites and some wine, although the wines were a bit pricey. For me, I’ll go elsewhere.
Overall, our experience missed the mark here. The service was very good throughout the meal, but there were a variety of reasons that we will not return. First and foremost, the food just wasn’t that good. The steak of the steak frites was quite fatty and was very brick like on the plate. A steak knife was definitely needed, as it really wasn’t tender. The frites however, were tasty and crispy. My wife had the paella which was far too salty and lacked other backing flavors. The price of a non alcoholic mojito was 10 dollars, which seemed high. In the end, we will not be returning as there are many restaurants in the city at similar price points with fantastic food.
Nice restaurant. Great garden but just too hot to eat outside. Wonderful wine and drinks. Perhaps a few more menu choices would be great for small plates to share I’d go back again. Staff was super friendly. We had escargot (excellent), moules frites (excellent) and Nicoise Salad ( which was good but I prefer fresh rare tuna vs poached — which kind of looked like liver pate— but taste was good)
Delicious port on the House was such a nice touch.
We enjoyed the high ceilings and open feeling the minute that we walked into Le Prive. The service was warm and friendly, and the creative egg benedict variations were well-prepared. We will try the crepes for dessert next time -- the tough, dense beignets were the only unsuccessful part of the meal.
I often go to this restaurant, I was a little disappointed by the food this time and the Saturday night music was too loud
Looooooooved every second. Food incredible, wine amazing, and service impeccable.
I enjoyed the
Food is excellent - pleasantly surprised at how well the food was cooked. Noise not too bad. Only thing is that the ceilings are very high, and it's kind of hard to cool the place down. We were a little sweaty at the end of dinner.
It feels like a brasserie in Southern France. Excellent food. Great service. Not too expensive.
Came across restaurant while looking for a place to dine before a Broadway show. Food and service were superb!
We visited on Bastille day and enjoyed a late afternoon lunch of shrimp cocktails and cheese plate. We loved the energy and fun atmosphere!
This was my wife's and my's first visit to Le Privé. We absolutely loved our experience. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. The beignets were the best I have had outside of New Orleans. (And they even give some of the beignets down there a run for their money.)
All of the staff was extremely friendly, and accommodating.
My wife and I are already talking about going back the next time we are in NYC.
We dined in the garden which was charming. Food was delicious classic bistro food. Service was attentive.
Very pleasant experience . Service was excellent .
I'm glad French food is making a comeback. Without the stuffiness of some of the older places. The food and wine choices are wonderful
And you MUST have beignets for dessert!
We ate dinner prior to going to a play nearby. What a nice surprise. We started with a delicious duck liver pate. It was just delicious. Our group had salmon, a lamb burger and chicken breast. Everyone was very pleased. The sides, such as potatoes, were perfect as well. Unfortunately, we did not have time for dessert. The service was attentive and helpful. This was a great choice. Next time we will leave more time.
it was great again.....I just wish more people would try it as it is a welcome addition to 10th Ave. I have been there for lunch and several times for dinner and probably have had the entire menu! I love the duck, the paella, the steak frites, the lamb burger, the escargot and the beignes for dessert are better than in New Orleans!
Lovely bistro with front and back patios! Fantastic wait staff. Very friendly!
We had a very nice time celebrating an anniversary. The restaurant gave us free port wine with our dessert, which was so special.
Very great setting, service and pricing
