The staff are lovely people and the food is delicious and plentiful.
Would love to see a little more variety with the menu, some specials maybe. The prices aren't obscene but they're a little pricey for 10th ave and/or casual dining. I like what they offer but between the pricing and the lack of variety it doesn't encourage repeat business.
This was our third visit to Le Prive. It is wonderful. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is delicious. My spouse has certain digestive issues that require modifications, and they have always been more than accommodating without any loss of quality. This time I had the hamburger and beignets. Both were perfect. The green tomato and aioli really made the burger. My spouse had the Nicolas salad with grilled salmon instead of the tuna. It was perfect. The soft boiled eggs were just to his liking. In previous visits, I’ve enjoyed the French onion soup and different salads. My only complaint is the music level, which makes conversation difficult. Otherwise you can’t go wrong here.
Wonderful food, wonderful staff, lovely location. There is a patio out back, so I will have to return when the weather permits.
Great deal! Great Service! Great time! I would return or recommend to a friend.
Excellent service. Very creative menu. Solid choice for a great meal.
As always- a marvelous time!
Food was excellent! Very glad I booked this for a friend visiting out of town!
This place was fantastic. I am still dreaming of the duck dish.
This was w wonderful spot for early pre-theater dinner on a beautiful day. We had matinee and evening theater tickets so needed a place to eat between. Le Prive was perfect. There were many options for a late lunch/early dinner. We shared a tuna tartar appetizer which was a generous portion and came with delicious homemade potato chips and was on a bed of a yummy herbal oil. Enjoyed it all. We had a lamb burger and moules frites for our main courses and they were both great. The mussels were very clean and broth was perfect. Fries were too good. One of us even had room for house-made beignets and other even had some which were outstanding - Cafe Du Monde quality. We will be back. Great find on 10th Avenue (thanks Open Table).
Step in the door and you feel like you've slipped into a bistro in middle of Paris. Very legit menu and ambience, top notch service, fantastic food. Very friendly. Very French. Low key elegance. Highly recommend.
Excellent fine French dining. If you aren't adventurous in your dining, however, there are a few options that are pleasing to those who prefer American food (macaroni and poulet rôti). I would not reccomend for families with young children; there is no kids menu and most kids wouldn't accept the food.
My husband and I were looking for a cute little spot for dinner after a show. We could not be happier. The service was great, the drinks were good, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was perfect. They have an outdoor area in the back that’s super cute too. We had the fromagio and escargot for apps and Bronzino and steak for dinner. Everything was so delicious. I will say the Bronzino is a big dish and can be split between 2 ppl with a side or salad. We will def be back!
A neighborhood gem! This was my first time dining at Le Prive and it will definitely not be my last. The service was impeccable, the cuisine was fresh and flavorful and the wine was delicious!!
Food and service we're excellent. Near theaters and times square.
The venue was charming, the food impeccable and the service was beyond... everyone there went out of their way to make our night a memorable one. I can’t wait for the garden to open!
We were a group of 8. Everyone was very pleased with their meal and the restaurant in general. We'll definitely be back!
If you are in the area and interested in good French food and friendly service, Le Privé is the place to go.
Excellent service! Food was quite good. The chocolate mousse - made with Belgian chocolate - was easily the best I’ve ever had.
Dinner tasted good, waiter was awesome and attentive. My $60 bottle of wine that was really only $15 at the place down the street was marked up 4X kinda made me mad. Too bad I didn't google it BEFORE i ordered it and it was open. That was the only downfall. If I go again, I'll only order water. When you are expecting great things at an upper scale restaurant and receive less, it's very disappointing. Luckily the food was delicious!
Great knowledgeable staff. Good atmosphere and above all very good food.
Had lunch on a slow day; great welcome and service. Nice table right in front but chairs (as others have said) aren't very comfortable and, if the place were full, would be very crowded. Fortunately that wasn't the case so we had plenty of room; waiter even brought us a second table to spread out (a bit).
Food was very nice for lunch; salads could be a full lunch. My wife had one after the onion soup. I had beet salad with goat cheese before a steak sandwich. All very good and decent price, considering NYC. Glasses of wine were $17 each which seemed high, however.
Great pre-theater spot, the food was absolutely delicious. Best steak for steak frites I’ve ever had. Only downside is the tables are ridiculously small - bistro tables if even that big.
The food was great but the service was even better. I took a client here for lunch along with my boss. Our server, (sorry I can't remember his name) was fantastic!!! He was very attentive and our water was never empty. We usually take our clients to 44 & X but I will be coming back to take more clients here.
Loved the wait staff, so friendly! Also for french food in the city, was very reasonable and great ambiance.
Charming French place away from the bustle of TImes Square but good for pre or post theater. Beignets are superb! Try the Moules Frites.
My boyfriend and I came in for a late dinner after seeing a show and were very pleased with our choice! The food was great, the service was quick (in fact, my only piece of constructive criticism is that we did feel a bit rushed at times, though I suppose that’s to be expected when you come in so close to closing time), and the place wasn’t too packed. Will definitely consider this a go-to for excellent French dining.
I really didnt like the playlist which had pop songs during the dinner. When I was having some bread before the appetizer’s served, the french music was perfect. However, as the playlist somewhat changed, the atmosphere drastically went to cheesy. PLEASE KEEP THE FRENCH MUSIC ALL THE TIME.
Service was impeccable! Great little French bistro- very authentic, great mussels, duck- good music- lovely neighborhood gem- and nice alternative to dining options a bit away from Time Square.
This was my second time dining in this lovely restaurant. The food is outstanding! The service is warm, welcoming and professional. We will DEFINITELY return!
Excellent experience! Would go back!
Between performances of Harry Potter we really enjoyed dinner at Le Prive. Loved the escargot, duck, burgers, ribeye. Excellent cocktails. French waiters, great atmosphere.
My husband and I went to Le Prive for dinner. Everything about the place, food, and experience was amazing. We will definitely be back for everyday dining.
Service was nice but food is unexceptional. The griot of pork was overly dry and the steak had too much gristle. Only saving grace was a tasty frisée salad. Wine was only decent.
Good food and service. We were in a group of six, and the restaurant staff let us sit for quite a few hours and talk. Two negatives- restaurant was long and narrow, and in a table for six, we felt a bit squished. Also, music was very loud, and as the night wore on, and fewer people were in the restaurant, the noise level was deafening, making conversation extremely difficult among our group.
Nice dinner, but didn't get the warmth for my Aunt's birthday. Didn't really do much to make it special.
Always have a lovely dinner here. The staff are great and the menu is concise and always good. I love their Mussels, the French Onion Soup is also excellent!
New restaurant at an old spot--and a great improvement. Nice French food, still working out the details. Needs a few more lightbulbs in the chandeliers for the dark corners.
Food was delicious and a good value. They were nice enough to give a glass of casis at the end of our meal complimentary. Only issue was noise level and was hard to have a quiet meal. I would go again.
This has become my "go to" casual place for pre-theater. The food is good, service affable, and location convenient to theaters.
