Overall great food... Steak Tartare is my favorite!
Très belle soirée, cuisine française excellente. Le hic de notre soirée a été le chanteur qui se promenait de table en table. Vraiment pas notre style et en plus très fort rendant les conversations difficiles. Si, sur le site, avait été indiqué que le vendredi soir il y a un chanteur sur place, certainement nous n'y serions pas allées.
J'avais parfois l'impression d'être dans ''Love boat''!

La cuisine était excellente,ce que je déplore c'est le niveau élevé de la musique d'autant plus que ce n'était pas de la musique de bistro français....et une autre chose que je déplore ce fût de nous faire dire que nous devions libérer la table au bout de 2 heures....jamais il en fût question au moment de la réservation,remarquez que 2 heures ce fût suffisant mais ça commence mal...le brunch.
We enjoyed our entire meal. The staff was friendly and excellent. The sommelier was quite helpful and the wine he recommended was excellent. pricing seemed quite fair to us. The vibe in the restaurant was friendly and upbeat. The music was enjoyable and not too loud.
Absolutely delightful! Every part of the meal was carefully prepared and presented. The mussels, best ever tasted, the French onion soup with gruyere cheese was exquisite to the palette, the duck confit an absolute best and the creme brûlée and the wine pairing concluded one of the best dinners ever had. The service made it all come together, including the presentation of the desert.
This is one place that will be remembered about Montreal and for sure on top of our list of recommendations.

Is known for his culinary experience not this place. Food is terrible and overpriced. The manager is completely incompetent and has no control over his chef! Our server was very nice but was so embarrassed for all the problems we had. Soup was barely warm missing the goat Crostini on top, main dish has absolutely nothing to do with the description all different sides, meat was again barely warm the sauce was supposed to have Brie in it didn’t have any and was tasteless, On a positive side the best thing was the bread. Will never go again neither recommend to anybody.
J’ai bien aimé le pois penché il est bien situé au centre ville de Montréal. Le service est très bien et le restaurant est très jolie. La nourriture était très bonne.

Upscale brasserie food quality and preparation was very good. Service was professional but the big negative was the wine list. Starting at about $65 CDN it is so incomprehensible and poorly organized (not to mention some cute commentaries about producers names etc.. that don't help) that even the waiter couldn't figure out what was a Cote du Rhone or a Cabernet etc... This really needs some work and maybe they'd sell more wine.

Great ambiance, curteous and fast service; I have been to this restaurant several times now and it always has been a pleasure.
Lovely 9 pm menu. Delicious, generous portions and excellent variety. Three in the group had the bavette & fries. I had the Atlantic salmon. The soup and salad starters were excellent. So if you are looking for a place after theatre or a late evening bite while downtown we highly recommend this spot.
After looking at pictures of their brunch menu I think we’ll be back for that also!

I’ve eaten here before on my last visit to Montreal. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the Residence Inn Marriott Downtown and the Omni Royal hotels.
I ordered their Ballottine De Volaille - Chicken stuffed with wild mushrooms and a tarragon sauce. What they actually had was a chicken baked breast in a bearnaise mushroom sauce served upon mashed potatoes.
It was still very tasty and I did enjoy it!
The service was very attentive and non-intrusive.

Expensive and disappointing. New Years Eve $85 price fixe would have been fine if the food had been good. The chef likes to be innovative and creative but we really just wanted delicious food. We wondered whether anyone had tasted the dishes beforehand—it seemed unlikely. I found the first appetizer—mi cuit salmon—lovely but my husband and the couple next to us refused to eat it. The red wines available by the glass (there were three) were so awful, I skipped having wine with the main course. The 2nd app w mushrooms was good. Duck ravioli was not very good, and braised endive with spoiled ham and rock hard avocado ice was a complete failure. Steak should not be prepared sous vide. It was tough and chewy. The chocolate dessert was good. Service was very good but could not possibly compensate for the disappointing food.

Came for new years, they first tried to sit us in a room in the back with zero ambiance and totally separate from the rest of the restaurant. they agreed to move us when we asked as there were multiple tables in the main room. Food was just okay, steaks were a bit tough and they forgot on of our first courses. We had a good time but probably a few too many mishaps to come back.
It was New Year's Eve, we were looking for a La Carte menu. We were never informed that there was a prix fixe menu. We found out when we arrived at the restaurant. Too much food, not that great either. Better value and food at Restaurant Europea a few nights before.

While the ambiance is very nice and the service friendly and efficient the food itself was less than memorable. Very unusual for this place since many previous meals were outstanding. The 4 of us had lamb shanks, bouillabaisse, and seafood stew. The lamb was fall off the bone cooked which is good but the flavor was not as robust as it should be. Both the seafood stew and bouillabaisse were very modest in the contents. The flavors were good buy simply not a substantial enough portion. The bouillabaisse consisted of the jus, 2 shrimps, about a dozen small bay scallops and 2 2: squares of cod. That was it! usually this dish should have at least 3 types of shell fish, 2 or 3 types of fish and small diced potatoes. Seafood stew was similar. For these reasons I give it only a fair rating.

Great food, courteous and efficient service, beautiful decor that is reminiscent of traditional Parisian Brasseries. A little pricey for a menu that is found in many similar Brasseries in Montreal.
Seriously, one of the best restaurant ever! Super tasty, a lot of choice, kind service and the wine paradise ;) Perfect for a date or just for chilling.
Le repas était très bon. Le fait d'avoir tout le menu disponible à Noël est apprécié. Le service était efficace, tout en nous laissant le temps de savourer chaque plat. Les portions étaient de très bonne taille. J'ai adoré les moules et le tartare de saumon. Le baba au rhum à lui tout seul vaut le déplacement! Les seuls bémols: le chou frisé accompagnant le saumon grillé n'était pas le meilleur choix de légumes, et un plus grand choix de vins au verre serait apprécié. À part ça, j'ai hâte de retourner au Pois Penché!
