Le Pif- Chelsea
It's used to refer to a good wine , a sommelier or a small intuition.
Do you have the nose for it ??
This place is very cute and the location was great. The food was delicious even though their portions are relatively small. I wish the tables were a bit roomier and that more people were there to give it a bit more ambiance. It was virtually empty on Saturday night at 7pm! Other than that I would say it was a lovely dining spot. Very intimate and delicious.
Extremely loud and noisy, so much so that the sound was reverberating in the room even though it was not crowded and early in the evening. The food value was overpriced. Appetizers and main course were same price. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. No a very romantic location however.
The food was incredible but I got severely burned from the escargot. They shared that the escargot “jump” coming out of the oven so to give it a few moments. I waited a couple minutes and the oil exploded all over my chest leaving a burn, and ruined my friends shirt- so be careful. Restaurant- please leave in the kitchen!! We also ordered a flatbread that had a huge piece of plastic in it. The food was delicious but obviously this makes me want to give it a 3 or lower. They gave us a new pizza, was surprised after everything they didn’t comp items. Great wine list, delicious food, but didn’t come out unscathed!!
Good food and service. However, no ventilation left our clothes smelling like smoke and food. Also, no sound absorption made it difficult to hear each other.
Food was fine - nothing outstanding but nothing terible. A starter of quinoa and avocado was tasty and the flatbreads were good - strong flavors and fresh ingredients. Although not terribly crowded, the noise level was very high and made talking/hearing on the difficult side. Given the number of excellent restaurants in NYC, I wouldn't return nor recommend Le Pif to a friend, but that being said, the food was good.
Lovely little place. Great value, especially the seared foie gras appetizer.
Le Pif is always great. Ali takes such good care of the guests. And the food is awesome! Flatbreads. Charcuterie. Cheese plates. One is more delicious than the next...
It’s a cute restaurant with great French food. Perfect for incognito outings.
Sara, our server, was absolutely wonderful!! She had such a positive vibe all around, smiling, very attentive, very patient, and fun while still being very professional. Every restaurant staff should be like her. Definitely makes up for anything. The food was good, I ordered steak and eggs. We went for brunch and we loved that the atmosphere was nice, cosy, and that we could hear our conversations.
Excellent and unassuming. Good atmosphere while still allowing for more intimate conversations. Good for business and pleasure. Solid wine list and knowledgeable staff.
Good high quality local warm casual space
Although we had a lovely dinner there, the noise level was difficult and some of the food was too salty.
Great to have Le Pif in the neighborhood for a nice glass (or two) of wine and good comfort food.
Jason our server was so fun and had great recommendations. Our meal was delicious and affordable. I would visit again.
Somewhat romantic, but a little loud
Good food and a very nice wine list--both by the bottle and by the glass.
Excellent wine bar and food in London Terrace, Towers. The service was wonderful and my company was happy with the food, especially the assortment of cheeses and salami. I would highly recommend this place is somewhere you can go and talk without a lot of noise.
Perfect for a brunch with family. There were not a lot of people there so we were able to really take our time and catch up with each other. The slower pace may annoy some wanting to get in and out, but for our group, it was very relaxing and let us spend quality time together. There were good brunch options, including omelets and eggs benedict.
A great place if you are in the mood for authentic French cuisine.
Food was good, ambiance was nice for a quiet dinner with friends. Wait staff was clueless.
Chicken was dry and gross. Mushroom risotto was al dente but good flavor. Not sure why the reviews are so good. The meal was sub par at best.
My husband and I love Le Pif! It’s a warm, cozy place - great ambiance. The food is always phenomenal. We love the French onion soup, Brie honey truffle, chicken, steak and beef stew. Great selection of wine and the staff is so nice.
Wonderful staff and service. Delish foods. Highly recommended.
Great food and service!!
Cozy, warm and welcoming.
I will definitely be back!
Fourth time here in about a month! Love Le Pif....my neighborhood gem!
A very awesome place. You won’t know what to eat it’s all so amazing 🌟
Such a delightful and welcoming spot just off the Highline. Friendly and delicious.
Fabulous as usual. Just a note that one guest noted the sea bass was “fishy”.
Second visit. Food did not disappoint..just as good as the first time!
Most notably, the waiter was SO helpful, friendly and attentive. We are not wine drinkers, so he made recommendations and allowed us to taste before committing. Same with the cheese/meat platter. His non-judgmental assistance made us feel welcome and truly added to the enjoyment of our night out! Not to mention that the choices he made were indeed excellent in both presentation and taste. I really enjoyed the food greatly and would definitely go back.
Went with friends for a birthday dinner the other night. High marks for the food from the flat bread starter to our meals (lots of protein). I would say though for the price that the meals should be a little more substantive. The lava cake we had for dessert (with a birthday candle) was also really good and most of the time they're kind of mediocre. They could also do with a few more teas on the menu and some caffeine-free varieties.
My friend was very happy to find a wine bar next door to his barber.
We'll definitely go back again.
I've been to Le Pif twice now, once for dinner and once for apps. I LOVE this place. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all of the wines they offer and can offer suggestions based on your preferences. Their wine flight was a great deal - $40 for 6 tastings may seem a bit steep, but each "tasting" was half a glass. The food was also quite good. The server was able to offer cheese and charcuterie suggestions to match our wines and the main dishes were authentic and delicious. I will definitely be returning
Decided to have Christmas Eve dinner out. Passed by here many times but never ventured in. My loss!! The escargot were perfectly cooked just the right amount of butter. Had the duck confit entree outstanding. The server was exceptional. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!
Returning to celebrate birthday AND retirement!
It's a little hidden gem on the west side- it is quiet and intimate- easy to have a conversation with a good glass of wine!
The food is amazing and great ambiance for a casual nice little dinner. I love that the name means “person with big nose” in french.
Went for brunch this past Sunday, our meals were great as well as the wine. We started with a 5 piece cheese and meat board which was very good as well.
I like the ambiance. My friend really liked the food. The sound level was too high for my taste. Perhaps we could have been sat at a better spot given we took the time to make a reservation, but ok.
I thought the waiter was not very good. He just seemed not to be in touch with what we were saying or wanted. Perhaps it was a language issue
We had lunch and were most satisfied with our meals, and the service. Would definitely return for either lunch or dinner. This was a very pleasant experience!!!
