The wait-staff (although nice and polite) were missing in action. Maybe the restaurant was short-handed on the evening of our visit, but it's unacceptable (for example) for guests to order pre-dinner drinks and then wait 15-20 minutes for them to arrive at the table.

An absolutely wonderful experience, from start to finish! The service from every staff member we encountered was wonderful, and the food was fantastic! This was our first time visiting (our daughter chose for her birthday dinner), and we will certainly be back, no question!

We are new to the neighborhood and are slowly discovering places to eat. This lovely restaurant on the corner of Oakdale and Broadway ticked almost all our boxes - it was walkable, had a lot of seating options, a nice cocktail list. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, our food & drinks arrived at agreeable intervals (not so fast we felt rushed, not so slow, we were sighing). The only fault is one that plagues many American restaurants - it's noisy. May I suggest mats under the tablecloths to soften the noise levels? At least in the larger dining room?

We have been there many times with all great experiences. However last night they were short on wait staff resulting in terribly long waits for our drinks and placing our order. This occurred on our last visit as well. This will not deter us from going back as the food is exceptional,

The decor is very cute, kind of country French. The menu also reads like a very typical French restaurant, which seemed really exciting, but very small portions and the way it’s prepared is less inspiring. I’ve been a couple of times and was surprised by small pours of wine, a razor thin slice of the Salmon Wellington, and small portion of the steak frites (a lot more frites than steak). Also, I had expected the escargot to come in the shell and was a little disappointed at their delivery. While the food is tasty, the value is certainly missing. That said, I appreciate having a French restaurant in the neighborhood especially since Yoshi’s closed.

Le Petit Marcel is a neighborhood gem! The food was outstanding, the service and ambiance are really great and all at a very affordable price. The hangar steak, lobster pasta, floating island and earl grey martinis were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

Given that they have been open for a while, we were disturbed by how unorganized they seemed to be. We had a reservation (which they later canceled on OpenTable after we were seated) and they were seemingly unprepared for us. They final sat us in the bar area - it was tight fit and VERY noisy. There is a live piano player on Friday and Saturdays - his music was wonderful and would have been even better if weren’t so close. It took a long time to get some water to the table, but then surprisingly our starters showed up before our drinks did. The duck liver mouse was good but sweeter than you might expect. The scallop crudo was the star of the meal overall. I decided to get the steak tartar as a main - it was a little over-spiced with paprika but very fresh and tasty. The filet mignon was cooked to temperature and was very flavorful - especially the sauce but a little on the dry side. The green beans were yummy but did pack a punch. The potato gratin was okay - probably would skip it next time if there was a next time. As for dessert we tried Coffee Paris-Breast was good and a decent size. You can expect bistro style service - they will come when you flag them down but otherwise they are going to leave you alone. The bar area was very nicely appointed if not a little too tight. There is a lot of outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The drinks were well made.

Pleasantly surprised as the reviews were mixed. The steak tartar excellent as was the steak frites. Mussels were good but a little small and the sauce bland. The seafood stew as I call it was exceptional and above average. Need to improve service. Pleasant and sweet just had too many tables. Hostess was adorable and sweet. Would definitely go back. Vibrant bar but loud with the piano player. Great drinks. We enjoyed the bar after dinner but wouldn't eat in that room as was hard to talk.
