Chef Johnathan Masse brings his expert knowledge of comfort food, having most recently served as sous chef at the Waverly Inn, and also for Chef Jonathan Waxman of Barbuto. Along with owner Christian Merand, formerly of Jean-Claude in Soho, they have created a restaurant that focuses on serving consistently great traditional food with a lively and unmistakeably French atmosphere.

Ate in street table area. Beautiful evening. Food and service great despite not in the restaurant proper.
The food is OK. After dinner the waitress run into us in the sidewalk asking why we gave less than 18% tip. This is the first time I see someone begging for tip. When I come back I promisse to tip 30%, but for today, for this rude behavior and harassment I gave 2 stars rating (the restaurant is old and needs repair).
I have been to this restaurant many times in the past. The food this time seemed somewhat bland compared to previous meals. Moreover, bread on the side was not provided with the meal. I ordered the grilled salmon, which was fresh and good but it along with the couscous that accompanied it could have had more flavor seasonings. The apple tatin and creme brulee were not as I remember from the past, although certainly edible. I hope these changes are somehow due to pandemic, and that the previous level of really tasty meals will be restored. Sitting outside was very pleasant for most of the dining time, until just before leaving a homeless man wandered into the shed-like enclosure to panhandle--I immediately put on my face masks for protection. I think the restaurant staff should be on the look out for this kind of situation, which given the pandemic was disturbing.
Very authentic, yet creative, French bistro food. All dishes were outstanding. Even better than in the past. The best part is that the value is high. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. The ambiance is Parisian, relaxed, and stylish.
food amazing - ambiance romantic - small and quaint - just love this place - have eaten here for several years - never disappoints
Amazing! Great food and great wine
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance - this place is a real gem!
The food and service was absolutely wonderful! Delicious & authentic French food, and a wonderfully helpful and courteous staff. I thoroughly enjoyed the mussels and escargot. The wine was perfectly paired, as well. This was a great after work dinner spot with two of my girlfriends as a weekly get-together. My only complaint is that the temperature inside of the restaurant was extremely hot and stuffy, BUT this is a small venue and it is 92° in NYC right now. So this complaint truly doesn’t even reflect the staff or food at all. Thank you Le Parisien!
We have been to le Parisien many times with no complaints. This last time, the service was awful, the order was wrong, and the steak was so tough that my husband couldn’t eat it. As soon as we sat down the waitperson asked what we wanted. She didn’t offer to tell us the specials or ask if we wanted a drink. My husband ordered the onion soup but was brought a cold gazpacho like soup. After waiting several minutes trying to get her attention to no avail, he ate the soup that was brought to him. We were not asked if we wanted dessert despite the fact that we had mentioned we were celebrating a birthday when we made the reservation. Very disappointed
Enjoyed this meal!
Charming neighborhood find. Great food and service.
The real deal. Best French I've ever had. Escargot, Pate, duck confit, tart tatin, creme brulee, all amazing
Both the food and service were incredible. Prices are reasonable. The tuna was the best I’ve ever had.
Great no frills brunch place. We sat outdoors and the prices were reasonable.
I just love Le Parisien. Excellent authentic French cuisine without any of the stuffiness. Gracious and kind service. Food quality is consistently superb. Special enough for an “occasion” but casual enough for every day. The perfect sweet spot.
loved it, so fun and everything was great - we got the salade frisée and the steak-frites!
First time to this restaurant the food was excellent.
Food was delicious -- sat outdoors and enjoyed it. Waiter seemed a bit rushed, not very conversational. A little stiff. My wife's portion bistro steak was great, yet I got the duck special and it was very tiny - 2 lil pieces that could be eaten in a few bites, with spinach and some puree...very disappointed for the price of it - would hardly constitute an appetizer.
Best in neighborhood
This restaurant are outstanding, the price are reasonable.
Always amazing, the best restaurant in the neighborhood. Isabella takes amazing care of all her guests, the mussels, the steak frites, the Gigondas the roast chicken, it's all fantastic. Feels like you are back in France.
It is a cosy small restaurant for a nice lunch or brunch, not a fancy place. Food was delicious 😋 and prices were ok
It’s a very good neighborhood restaurant. The food is good and the service friendly.
I love Le Paresien and it was another very enjoyable dining experience. Thank you very much!
Consistently excellent cuisine - a go-to for French fare.
Met a friend for a Sunday brunch here. They have outdoors seating w/ table hand sanitizers. On a hot day it might be too warm but otherwise great sidewalk seating. The pre fix brunch menu items at 18$ come with a coffee (sadly they don’t carry decaf ). The food was amazing. We both had mushroom omelette with Asiago cheese that same with a mini side of greens and fries. The rest of the menu looked great too.
We have always loved it here and were thrilled that they now have outdoor dining ! Everything was delicious!
A good neighborhood bistro. Decent wines for the price.
Brunch deal was great and the food was delicious
Delightful meal at a reasonable price. Definitely a great place in my work neighborhood.
Outstandingservice, food was excellent, and a great vibe
Not our first time at Le Parisien, I was there a week prior. Had to introduce our friends to this wonderful find in Kipps Bay area of NYC.
Food, Service and just general friendliness as usual. We will be there again and again
It is such a hidden gem! The food is real Parisian cuisine and the people are very friendly!
A pleasant place to dine for French food, with some outdoor dining.
Perfect neighborhood gem. Very reasonably priced. We'll definitely go back/
Most authentic French cuisine in the city, we will be back!!!!
Very friendly, helpful staff--always attentive, never pushy. Delicious food, fun people-watching on the street.
Great food and attentive service make for a wonderful evening dining experience. Very nice outdoor dining setup.
