which is known as the Garden of France". Much of

fish and meats, it is not a surprise that the lovely
Loire valley excels.

Been to Le Monde several timer. First time with a reservation, however the table we got was not good at all. It was really small, nest to the cashier and super noisy.
The brunch was good.
Have in mind that Sundays are really busy and if you want I to have a quiet time this night not be the best place to go.
The food was delicious and service was excellent. We were a party of 8 and we were seated promptly. I would highly recommend Le Monde to anyone looking for a brunch spot.
Perfect spot to have a good, tasty dinner before a concert! Service was great at getting us seated and fed in time for us to make the show.
First-rate experience. My salad lyonnaise and duck confit were outstanding. My companions praised their tomato tart, mussels, and steak frites. Excellent wine, lovely atmosphere, good value. Next time we are in NYC, we'll be back.
Food great service a little slow
Had to remind wait staff twice to please bring me a glass of wine that I had ordered. The problem is that the person taking your order is not the one who delivers the food and the person checking in on how we were doing was yet another person. I think they need to tighten up the hand off between wait staff.
Not as good as it used to be. I ordered Duck confit. It was a small portion and came with dried up home fries that were almost inedible. Not worth $32.00. My friend ordered a octopus salad which seemed like a bigger portion and she enjoyed it.
Everything was excellent!
Oil they use leaves a bad taste and smell on clothes
Brunch options were great. Very pleased with price as well.
Excellent selection. Excellent following dietary restrictions due to allergies. We had 3 different appetizers and three different main dishes, and all 6 were excellent.
We will definitely return
Was hoping for slightly quieter dining room but the food was good and the service was decent. Also, they were very accommodating to my 7mo baby.
I have gone here for over a decade and in the last two years the quality of the food has decreased dramatically. Today’s quiche had some crusty crunchy toppimg that seemed to be overbaked parmesan and the crust was inedible. The salmon burger was dry and only the brussel sprouts were edible. There has been a steady decline but today brought it to a point where I had to complain. Very sad because I habe always loved this restaurant.
I have been many times at Le Monde and I have enjoyed the food. I had never been there for Sunday brunch. It was crowded, noisy, the food was so-so. When our plates arrived the food was cold. The service was attentive and polite but very slow. So, I recommend the place but not on Sunday brunch hours.
Really nice!
I was there for a lunch meeting. The service was great and the food was good. My colleague had the chicken and I had the lunch special carbonara. Everything was good. The servers were very polite and attentive. We sat on the patio. To my surprise the noise level was low. The occasional ambulance sirens didn’t bother us.
Very nice restaurant, good food, nice ambiance, the service was o.k. but the wait staff was very inexperienced.
This time, the entree I had chosen was not as good as I had experienced in the past. I guess we can all have an off day.
We had reservations on 9/21 to celebrate my adult son's birthday. We had a lovely time. Food and service was excellent. Not our first visit to the restaurant and definitely not our last!
Wanted a nice birthday dinner for an introverted wife but with our teenage kids that wasn’t wildly expensive. We also wanted a place that wasn’t too loud that we couldn’t sit and just enjoy each other’s company. Since it was a Saturday night we always dislike a lot of dining establishments as it just feels like you’re being pushed out the door to turn the tables - so strategically I picked a French restaurant thinking if the waiters were European they would understand, plus my wife is a fan of French cooking. We got exactly what we were looking for; Tasty food, thoughtfully prepared and a cozy ambience. The waiter was quite professional. As a few others have said - the steak cut was a bit cheap - but hey so is the price...and the kids got steak frites but it’s a large cut, not the most tender but they said it was tasty. I had the bouillabaisse and the wife got mussels and we both enjoyed them. The menu has a lot of choices that i would certainly return for. The kids ate some escargot as an appetizer and the Desserts were well made. All in all a nice place and we will return for a normal night out.
Service and food were good except for the mussels which were small.
This was my 3rd meal at le Monde in recent months. It is a good choice in the Barnard/Columbia neighborhood. the food was very good. My quinoa salad with shrimp was yummy. My friend's oriental chicken salad, she said , was good but she left a fair amount on the plate. Unfortunately, the service was sooooooooooooo slow. at a busy lunch hour they need more staff.
Excellent value. Delicious food. Wonderful menu and huge portions.
Le Monde is a great neighborhood standby in Morningside Heights. Trendier places come and go. So it’s nice to know that this place endures.
Reliable service and tasty, healthy options. A go to place for business lunches on the Upper West Side.
Just an ok restaurant. Nothing bad, nothing particularly outstanding either
Everything about my Saturday brunch this past weekend was perfect. Service was impeccable. Plenty of outdoor seating on a glorious eighty degree day. Classy UWS vibes. Cocktails were lovely. I got the Belgian waffle; my friend got the steak and eggs. 10/10 — can’t wait to come back! Felt like we were on holiday even though we’ve been living in NYC for years :)
Inconsistent at best, we tried this place on the recommendation of our Airbnb hosts. I cannot say I would return: the French onion soup looks good in photos but was watery and in need of salt; the coq a vin was similarly watery and quite vinegary; the Friday special of scallop risotto was the best thing we had, but was more like cheesy rice than a proper risotto. Nothing about our meal made it worth the more than $100.
Great food! However the service was extremely slow - they needed servers!
Great round table in the window for 5 people. Food was excellent. Service exceptional slow. Had to approach hostess to get a final bill.
Most of our dinner was bland and unremarkable but the duck confit stood out as the worse. The duck leg was luke warm and it sat on a bed of potatoes and salad that tasted like leftovers: limp frisee, mushy potatoes mixed in with thick chewy slivers that were ossified from being warmed up one time too many. The service was slow and slightly amateurish. I had remembered this place fondly from a couple of visits a few years ago, but this was very disappointing!
It was expensive. Also ac didn’t work on the bar wide of the restaurant and the tap beers didn’t work. That said, staff was great. Food, fantastic.
I ate at Le Monde with my dear childhood friend and niece to celebrate my 65th birthday. The atmosphere was festive, the service was wonderful and the food was excellent. Every dish was served with a a great presentation and absolutely delicious. I had a magnificent time at Le Monde and would recommend this restaurant for the casual to the elegant diner - and will spread the word with all of my friends and family!
I have been here many times. Grade was pending. Food not up to par. Restaurant was freezing. I will wait a while before returning.
I like the Le Monde Restaurant but I had never been there for lunch before and it was different from the evening. I came for lunch and I was given a Brunch menu and I was arrogantly told that was it, only Brunch where the meu is different, thus I as not pleased.
Excellent food with relaxed atmosphere and gracious service. Great place for a special occasion.
I'd eaten here before and had a good experience so came back. I ordered the steak medium rare (but not rare) with the sauce on the side. My friend ordered mussels. My steak came smothered in sauce and rare. My friend's mussels came ice cold. We sent the food back. My steak came back with the sauce scraped off the meat....the french fries took up most of the plate...no sauce on the side.
Was very hard to get the waiter's attention. Very hard. We had to almost get up to flag him down.
The bread was delicious...and they give you the tiniest pat of butter for a basket of delicious bread.
Won't go back soon!
Had a very nice early meal with family and a friend. Food was delicious and reasonable. Kevin was a kind waiter- the wait between was a little long but overall, nice place!
Not many decent choices in Morningside Heights. Bored service. Ordinary food.
LeMonde is a comfortable, neighborly place with outdoor seating and a bar and a commodious dining room. The food is solid, good. The staff is a delight!
