Was a Thanksgiving weekend so probably was not as busy as other weekends. Noise level was moderate and service was great. Definitely gives some the better Italian restaurants like Spinasse a run for their money. White truffle add was definitely worth the cost. Really enjoyed the vegetarian pre-fixe the chef made for us.
Freezing cold dining room! We all had diner with our winter coats on. Waiter was odd and seemed offended when we said we aren’t doing the chef recommended “family style”
Food was good fresh well presented
Chef sent out complementary dessert for our birthday girl. Nice.
Service was a bit slow. Didn’t take cues. Nice and pleasant waitstaff though!
Too many courses for restaurant week. Over taxed your cooks and service people. Courses were very good but very inefficient.
Meals here are the perfect blend of comfort and sophistication. Cases in point: a shaved fennel-crab salad both light and luscious; fresh pasta with a properly hearty bolognese; another pasta (agnolotti) with a perfectly pitched fall mix of yellow squash and dates laced with drizzles of aged balsamic.
The service was also perfectly pitched: friendly and attentive without being intrusive or fake happy.
I always feel welcome here, and well fed with fresh, seasonally attuned fare.
Our most recent dinner at Le Messe was during Restaurant Week. The appetizer course of four small plates made it an exceptional value among the 165 participating restaurants. It included smoked sturgeon bruschetta, risotto, tuna crudo and a mixed lettuce salad made special by a superb vinaigrette. Food here is inventive but accessible, not contrived, always delicious and skillfully presented by the kitchen and dining room staff.
What a gem of a place. Great food and excellent service.
We happended to be at Le Messe during Restaurant Week without knowing it. The appetizers and desserts were all wonderful, and we were able to share at our table. We enjoyed the excellent wine choices, delicious entrees, and a gracious server on Halloween night.
Completely lovely from start to finish, and they were generous with us to boot, giving a sampling of appetizers.
This is a charming neighborhood spot with delicious, innovative food and terrific staff. It's welcoming, relaxed, and committed to excellence.
There are other restaurants in the same price range with food as good or better and with water views or other very nice ambiances.
Food is alway good here. We love the tartar, and their pastas are great. Service with Thomas was pleasant and he was very knowledgeable about the dishes and the cocktail profiles. Cheers!
Sat at the chef's counter and experienced the tasting menu with wine pairings. It was excellent!
Would do it again. Great value for the amount of food we got. Nothing small and tall about it!
Everything here is fresh. The fennel salad makes you want to order another for dessert. Pastas a lusciously sauced and generously proportioned. My Messe Manhattan offered a richly darker, more nuanced drink than a “regular,” but that one was satisfying, too.
Service was prompt and friendly without being gushy-fake.
This was a special communal dinner put on by Le Messe to celebrate the end of summer. It was an incredible meal and a steal at the price. Le Messe is a wonderful place that should have lines out the door every night, though selfishly I'm glad it's still a bit of an insider's secret.
We've dined here many times and are always very pleased. The food is inventive, the service attentive (but not formal), and the vibe very warm.
I love the seasonality of their menu! Their dishes are inventive and delicious. I went here on a Monday night and it was so good, I returned on Thursday night with my dad and my sister. We have always had a terrific meal at Le Messe!
I have very few food experiences that rate a five. This was one of them. Former reviews regarding small plates sized portions, etc. just did not parallel our experience. The portions were large (heirloom lettuce salad and burrata appetizer could easily have been shared by three instead of the two of us) from the appetizers to the main dishes. Everything was fresh; new flavor combinations and outstanding! I wish we lived closer and could visit regularly. With the windows open and the beautiful almost end of summer weather there was everything to rave about1
Outstanding food, decent prices. We went for our anniversary and were treated to sparkling rose, which was unexpected and nice. We sat outside because the weather was lovely even though our reservation had us inside. The hostess/wait person seemed disappointed when we asked for a table outside. I have a feeling she would have been our inside wait person and would have provided better service than out outside guy, who seemed a bit uninterested.
Very good food and selection. Had the pasta with crab as the entree and salmon crudo to start. Staff was great!
Everything we had from the drinks, starters, pastas and desserts were delicious. The beef tartare and tuna crudo were exceptional as was the burrata. We tried 3 pasta dishes and the squid ink was our favorite. It was a neat spot for a yummy dinner!
I went to Le Messe with a group if 6 friends for a Bachelorette Dinner and the entire staff at the restaurant treated us so nicely. Everyone congratulated the bride-to-be, offered amazing drink, appetizer and food selections. The meal was unreal and we couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. To top the end of an already amazing dinner, the staff surprised us with champagne - they really went above and beyond. Thank you so much!!
Everything we had was amazing - surprising subtle flavors
This awesome restaurant always delivers! This was my 5th time at the chef's counter and it has always been so satisfying. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star is because the timing on the food delivery is not great. This is the second time where that I've been when the prix fixe menu items have arrived way too fast or 2 or 3 at a time. Just not very planned out. Other than that, love it every time!
Nice, open kitchen and modern feel. Yummy food, knowledgeable staff. We had a great experience!
Absolutely delicious! I've been twice and both times, the food was superb.
It was nice. A bit problematic that the only person of color they have working is the dishwasher, but that’s an issue easily fixed, and I’ll definitely be back when they take care of that.
THE best Italian dishes in Seattle. The homemade pasta and the light sauces are Everything!
We traveled from Pittsburgh and planned our trip around our dinners at Le Messe
The food was exceptionally creative and delicious! The only downside was the noise level
Excellent food, personable attentive service. However, the spartan interior design of hard surfaces all the way down to the “plywood” booths makes for a very uncomfortable auditory experience which detracts from the great staff efforts. At one point I could make out the conversation of the booth behind me better than the person across the table from me; everyone must increasingly shout to be heard above each other and the music. Please fix your space, a little less trendy loud and a lot more human, so I can enjoy your great cuisine and my dining companions.
Good healthy food. Interesting flavors. Loved the pasta
Due to a large party they ran out of several items we ordered (after we placed our order), they did provide other options - but after ordering and then later finding out it’s gone was just frustrating.
But all the food we had was amazing! Will go back time and time again regardless of this lil snafu
From apps to Dessert we all had great meals. Service is nice and attentive. Will definitely recommend and return
Great food and service. Fun sitting at counter and watching them prepare your meal.
I love the foot at Le Messe. But if there is one thing they can improve on, it's reducing the gap between when appetizers and pasta are served. My wife and I have been to there no less than 6 times and most of the time, we have to wait quite a while for the pasta.
Solid on the food, the servers are good but service in general is usually pretty slow (based on multiple visits)
I will start by saying the food was excellent. I would give higher Mark's, but the kitchen did not seem very organized and it was very slow to get our food. The restaurant was barely 1/3 full at 6:30 on a Saturday, yet it took over 30 minutes to get cold appetizers. People seated after us were served pasta in half the time. And the chefs were moving at a snail's pace. As I said the food was spectacular, but I will visit the other locations instead as they seem to be better organized
Tried multiple appetizers and pasta entrees. All were excellent, as was the service. Patio seating was quiet enough for table of four conversation.
Always great food and wonderful attentive service.
