Dinners a bit pricey--but quality of food is excellent. Not sure why the Valet Parking was added to the bill--that was a little confusing. Good quality/value wine sold by the 12 oz carafe.

Aaron was a delight. He was a pleasure to talk with and knew when to engage and when not to.
The pumpkin spice old fashioned mocktail the bartender made was delicious. I didn’t hear his his name. And we enjoyed a superb meal but for the escargots. They started nicely but ended really flatly. Some garlic would have been helpful.
Other than that we totally enjoyed the steak tartare, salmon and crab tartine, beet salad, parm/truffle fries and salmon with sage spatzle.
And the desserts were divine: vanilla bean creme brûlée and lemon tart.
Thanks again Aaron for the great service.

We picked this venue to try it out since it reopened and because we thought it would work before our 8:00 show.
I enjoyed my chx dinner and had great service! She even offered to keep my leftovers for me to pick up after the show. The hostess gave me her card, so we could call before arriving so it would be ready for us!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Came early before a show, leaving us ample time to relax, enjoy a terrific cocktail and many appetizers ( we were full!) before heading out. For those complaining about taking forever to get your food, just come early and relax! This is not McDonalds, it’s not going to be done fast!
We enjoyed every bite, and the service was terrific. The happy hour specials in the lounge are very satisfying and delicious. The only minor complaint was that the toasted bread served with the patè was a bit crispy, but a request for more of the fresh baked bread was honored, so all was good. We will return!

Wanted to live it but didn’t. Our server was MIA until the end of the meal when he finally chatted with us a bit. Food was ok but not great for the price. Got some bad mussels which were adequately apologized for but still left a bad taste for the whole experience

Food was OK, I get that it is billed as “French Comfort Food”. It wasn’t great. Service was pretty terrible, but other tables around us weren’t having as bad service, so that may have been a fluke. Overall, however, we won’t be back. There are better options around. It wasn’t cheap, and it wasn’t great.

Enjoyed our meal but was very disappointed that although we clearly identified I couldn't eat Gluten the GF meal I ordered came with the Gluten topping. Seems small to some but to send the dish back and have a new dish cooked and make my husband wait and let his meal get cold or to have to wait for me to finish is not really top notch of a top notch restaurant.

The food is excellent! But disappointed that the wait staff was not attentive.

Repeat customer. Came early to sit at bar. Bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable, shrimp and meatball apps were amazing. Great wine selections. Dinner was great; beef cheeks were superb; salmon done perfectly; seafood fettuccini was excellent. Attentive server. Will return. Highly recommend.

Was not very impressed. It wasn’t bad but the food and service wasn’t amazing. The ambiance was not very romantic either. The decor could’ve been Denny’s. The escargot was blah...it was however a lot cheaper than expected.

We went on a Friday night. Evidently people were there pre-show and in fact there was a pre-show menu. Many of the customers were yelling at the waiters that they had a show to catch and didn't have their food yet. We ordered drinks and appetizers of snails and quenelles. These arrived relatively quickly and were fair at best but in the middle of eating them a waiter arrived with dessert that we did not order. Our entrees arrived before our plates from our appetizers were removed. I had the cassoulet which was acceptable but not good and my son had steak frittes. The frittes were soggy and horrible, certainly not twice fried. The steak was somewhat overdone. We then ordered dessert and waited over 45 minutes. I drank a cup of coffee but was never offered a refill and never saw our waiter to ask for a refill. The dessert arrived after 45 minutes, an apple tart that was inedible. The pastry was soggy probably from sitting out so long and the whole concoction was way too sweet. While I did not expect the quality of food I found in Lyon, FR, this was horrible as was the service. There is no excuse for this and would recommend you cross this place off your list. Many other people in the restaurant were clearly upset by the service and food. The restaurant removed the charged for the dessert due to the 45 minute wait but the wait was a small issue compared to the overall poor food quality and poor service. Zero Stars!

Lovely evening during Pittsburgh's Restaurant Week. We opted for a cheese course pre-dinner, which came with sugared walnuts, cranberries and/or cherry jam with baguette. The house red in a carafe was satisfactory, probably their bottles are preferable to wine connossieurs. The salmon course was superb, as was my husband's beef cheek. Also, the crème brulee was excellent. Great place for a quiet dinner.

We wanted to try somewhere we haven’t been to for NYE and we were not disappointed. Many options on the menu. Appetizers and salads big enough to share. The lamb and beef dishes were both delicious. Specially cocktails were fun. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. We will definitely be back.

The food is always exceptional. When it was Sonoma Grill we would eat there at least 2-3 times a year. It was a slow night so it wasn't crowded but there wasn't a lot of staff working. The staff did their best to accommodate everyone who did come in. The slow night was because of it being the evening before New Years Eve. I would definitely still go back again in 2018.

My husband and I had a great time here. We were there early in their dinner time frame when there weren't many people so it was a quiet environment. The service was fast and friendly. The beef was the most tender we've had out - he ordered the beef bourginon and I had the beef tartines with a salad. The bread and butter were amazing also! My only complaint about the food was an $8.00 side "salad" that was just romaine, parsley, and a dressing. It had an overwhelming parsley flavor. Otherwise, the food was amazing. We will be back!

Food was disappointing... 2 meals were good, 3 were not. The seafood basque style was terrible...pasta was overdone, stuck together, sauce was extremely spicy, overlooked, pork belly also terrible. The " Black Forest" gateau was barely edible as the chocolate covering was so thick and hard , we thought it was frozen. As stated, so disappointed as I was looking forward to great French cuisine but did not have it.

Menu was ok. Not many sides to choose from. Ordered a steak, requested medium, received medium well at best. Not pink at all. Parmesan frites were very good. They never brought my salad until after I told them they forgot and that was half way thru my steak. Had to flag down staff for another drink and water. Wife's pork was decent. Service / food was much better when it was Sonoma Grille.

Great service. But atmosphere is very disappointing. It looks more like some chain Italian cucina than a french restaurant.
The food Ingredients are good but everything was served almost cold. Mash potatoes and beef Cheeks: both came out almost cold (barely warm ). Steak: the same way. Oxtail was delicious but again: almost cold. Soft shelf crab was really good( little oily but great otherwise)
Great cappuccino. I also ordered crepes with bananas: perfect Crepe but cold and bananas were too green and so chewy....
Drinks and wine are delicious.
I love french food. Good french eatery would be a great gem which pittsburgh really lacking and I had high expectation.
Again: service is great.

This restaurant was "just okay".
Escargot were under seasoned. The sausage in the cassoulet was full of gristle, but the duck confit served on top was succulent. Bouillabaisse only fair, no outstanding flavor profile.
My husband's appetizer special of fried clams was so over fried you could not even taste the clam, but the generous side salad was nothing more than romaine lettuce and dressing, yet it was better than the escargot or the cassoulet, due to a very good tomato dressing.
The shrimp appetizer drew raves from a companion.
We were looking for a creative menu and that it had. But the quality of the food was quite underwhelming. Of 4 in our party, none voted to return.

Parking is super convenient with valet connected to the hotel.

Par for the course for this restaurant group. Happy Hour is only available in the bar seating area. I'm not really sure why anyone would eat in the dining room before 7:00 because the bar seating is more comfortable and serves the same food for less... but the staff isn't about to share that information when you arrive. Understandable, but the ensuing interaction was awkward. Also, the Happy Hour specials are not the same as the menu posted on the website. The overall value of their Happy Hour is decent, but the service begins to taper into near nonexistence if you are not sitting directly at the bar. Overall, we had a good time; the food is good--definitely a step above generic chain fare--but nothing to write home about or splurge on. I would do Happy Hour again, but I wouldn't pay full price to sit in the dining room.

we've eaten there several times and always enjoyed the experience. I ordered the veal banquet and was disappointed because I didn't feel it was traditional & over priced . other wise every thing was great as usual. a suggestion would be to sit at the bar for happy hour & split appetizers & a salad . the salads are a reasonable size for sharing . the service is always out standing.

I don't know why more people aren't frequenting this establishment. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. I hate that I forgot his name. But will go back here anytime I get the chance. I wish this place had more buzz around it.

For a french food aficionado, this place is a treasure. Go and don't think twice about it. You will not regret it.

Personally recommend the tartines for appetizers (both beef and salmon/crab) and the duck special was phenomenal.

Great to have a French dining option in the Cultural District. Spot on bistro cuisine- wife had the Poulet Frites and raved. I had the Duck Confit Cassoulet which was lovely though plated unusually in a flat soup bowl rather than the traditional cocette but this was only a minor point. The problem? Service.... our waiter was clearly struggling to cover all his tables but did his best . The surprising service gap came with our first course served by what appeared to be a floor manager- she placed two salads in front of us that neither of us had ordered. When we politely stated we had not ordered salads but a soup and a chèvre chaud- the salads were snapped away with out a word- no apology, nothing but a silent annoyed turn of the heel and marching off toward the the kitchen with the faulty plates. Problems occur and are understandable but the simple courtesy of an apology when a mistake has been made seems a basic fundamental of restaurant service. Its absence however is a glaring gap. This is a great restaurant but please invest in service training for the staff.

Have to say I’m a little disappointed. We were frequent diners at Sonoma and this was our first visit to Le Lyonnais. We arrived early so we sat at the bar for a couple of happy hour drinks. The pere lachaise was excellent.
I made a reservation several days in advance. I requested a table by the window, indicating it was an anniversary dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty at 6:00 but instead of window, we got a seat in the back of the restaurant right beside the computer. Asked for another table and got one a few feet away.
Starters were very good- French onion soup, salad, and roasted goat cheese w Bacon. Manager/hostess(?) came over to check on ‘the couple who’d requested a window seat but didn’t get one’. Drinks, appetizers, and service were good at that point so I said “no worries”. Dinners arrived pretty quickly. Salmon over spaetzle was excellent. Waitress, who was very friendly and attentive, had recommended bouillabaisse for my husband. He was pretty disappointed. Good flavor, but ALL the clams were closed. Ugh. Mentioned it to her and she came back awhile later with a small bowl of clams sent out from the chef. Not sure why he would’ve sent the original batch of closed ones out to begin with. Sounds like it wasn’t the first time it had happened.
So a bad table and bad clams. We enjoyed our evening in spite of that, although sorry to say we probably won’t be in a hurry to return.
