Food was just okay. Not especially “hot” in temperature. Scallops on the salty side and asparagus smothered i n a sauce. Service was pretty good; except had to request several times for additional glasses of wine.
Overall terrible service. We were seated at a table right in front of the entrance which doesn’t make sense for the colder months. On top of this, a homeless drug addict walked right into the restaurant and hovered over our table trying to grab a candle to use as a lighter. The staff did absolutely nothing to handle the issue as quickly as possible and also refused to change our seats after the incident. Staff is not professional and did not do well in the aspect of taking care of customers. Honestly it was a horrible experience.
I can't say that I would go back, BUT I would recommend it if you haven't tried French food or had French food in a long time; if you live close, it's a must try. If you're a foodie like I am and simply like to try new flavors and dishes, this is a place to try for sure. (I'm trying to be objective here.) The service was great!
My only complaint: I asked for my lamb to be cooked medium and it came out medium well to well done. Also, my friend's lamb was supposed to be medium rare and we didn't see any red in it. It looked medium well to well done like mine.
If you are a French cuisine fan, you might like this place.
We’ve been here many times in the past. But this time we arrived wanted a cheese plate and they said they had no cheese today at all
We ordered salads and the salad was so tiny that it was barely an appetizer. Very sad we still really like this place
The music was quite loud. They did turn it down when asked. Steak frite: good. Coq au vin: fairly good. Excellent bread.
Quaint restaurant with great food and atmosphere. Went for brunch, which included champagne, one appetizer or desert, and one entree for $19. Will definitely be going back!
our eggs benedict was cold the English muffin was hard. the food was not good, the service was not particularly good. I would not recommend this restaurant, we were very disappointed.
Always a lovely experience and delish cuisine!
This was my second time going to Le Grenier. The first visit was phenomenal! This second time however was less than stellar, and had i not had such a great experience the first time I probably would not go back. The service was terribly slow, I had to wait to get seated even though I had a reservation, which was fine they were just waiting for the prior couple to get up. But once I sat no one came over to us for at least 20 minutes. I ordered a coffee from a buser but it never came. Once we finally ordered, all three courses took forever to get to us, and were cold, which was disappointing because the food is delicious otherwise. They did seem very busy, all the waitstaff running around, so it's not like they were just sitting there ignoring us. But if you go make sure you aren't in a hurry and have some patience. Hopefully next time it gets better.
Welcome respite on a cold night - great cocktails (not too sweet) and fantastic coq au vin
