Awesome. Thanks for being one of my favorite restaurants!!
Excellent service and fantastic, authentic French food! Quiet, yet cool vibe.
The service and ambiance were perfect. Some of the dishes were just good and not great, but overall we had a nice night there. It’s a great place for a birthday dinner.
Cozy place for dinner that will not disappoint. Highly recommend.
Staff really great, ambiance fun , maybe I did not order the right item. Dessert and coffee excellent I had Duck and rice was great duck very tender but I was not crazy about sauce.
Wine good but kind of expensive based on portion size. Escargot was good.
I am going to try again sometime
It's my 3rd year in a row celebrating my birthday here. The food is amazing and it's also at a reasonable price for excellent French cuisine. Go here, you won't be disappointed.
Food was excellent. Enjoyed the pork dish. Others had beef and mussels. All were excellent. Crepe suzette delicious.
Le Grenier is a very pleasant (albeit fairly noisy) French restaurant. The wait staff were generally attentive, and the general ambiance is cozy. The food, however, was nothing to write home about. The escargot were rubbery and tasteless, the sauce for my seafood dish was a pasty mess, and my companion's lamb dish was overly salted. A pity - we were excited by what we had read in other reviews and came expecting far better.
The soups were fantastic. The frogs legs appetizer was very good. My duck was prepared perfectly, but my wife's hanger steak was tough and chewy, so she sent it back and it was removed from the bill. I'll assume that was the outlier and we will go back.
A nice French restaurant on H St, serving many of the classic French dishes. Possibility of having a lighter meal by combining appetizers, salads and a variety of interesting crepes.
Love this restaurant. Food is great and creative. service is wonderful.
Following a disastrous Valentines Day visit earlier this year, Le Grenier redeemed itself. Everything was perfectly prepared, and spot on.
Everything was amazing, from the food, to service, to ambiance to general accommodation! Perfect cute brunch to celebrate my 30th birthday! Would definitely recommend and revisit !
Food and service were impeccable. Le Grenier never disappoints!
Excellent food. Our service was pretty good but they appeared to be a bit understaffed particularly when we were ready for the check.
But the worst was the music. It was a bizarre mix of very annoying repetitive songs that will haunt me for days. (Something about an ostrich‽) At a fine French restaurant I’d expect ambiance that was a bit more subdued and mainstream.
Love this place for years. The decor is fun, the service is excellent, and they always really execute the dishes really well. Each dish was excellent as well as delicious. Appreciate the $15 corkage as well.
The worst French food I’ve ever had. Doubt the chef has ever had French food. The cooking was very haphazard. Seafood bisque was gross (the cream broth was nearly curdled and bulbous) and the steak frites was not enjoyable. Even the wine list was quite subpar, yet the bill was that of a premium restaurant. The interior design was lovely, however. A good place to go if you want to drink wine that reminds you of nail polish remover and eat food that tastes like it’s off the menu of a prison cafeteria.
Took over an hour after ordering our food to actually receive it, but the saving grace was that the meals were all delicious.
The food is great and the experience is worth it. Just with the pace of dinner with several courses, you can be there for a pleasurable 2-2.5 hours.
Our party of 8 loved the brunch experience at Le Grenier. We were seated upstairs and the service was very accommodating and helpful. The food was also delicious. We'll be back!
Excellent service from start to finish! Our party of 5 was seated right away at a nice round table. Wine selections were nice and varied and food was delicious. Our server was great, as were all the staff we encountered. A cosy French restaurant that I highly recommend! The only negative would be that the butter that was served with the delicious complimentary bread was cold. All in all though, a very nice evening!
Awesome. Such a wonderful gem of a restaurant. Loved the Salmon with the cucumber glacé .
Excellent food and service! So very tasty!
I love this restaurant. The food is always excellent and the service is great. One of my favorite neighborhood places for brunch.
Tight quartered and loud but fun and great food
This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. Authentic and traditional french food with some innovative dishes as well. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed dinner with my family!
Great food and great service!
Great as usual. The service was great and appreciate the attention to detail.
Le Grenier never disappoints. That is why it remains my top choice on H Street.
It was a good place for a date night: the service was great and our waiter even spoke french. The food was correct.
There are many French restaurants--or restaurants claiming to feature French cuisine--in DC. Le Grenier is easily one of the best.
Our server, Reda was extremely helpful in selecting the wines and the food. Greatly appreciate his friendly and honest attitude. The food portions were not large but satisfying; we were a party of 4 and none of us finished the food. We found the food very tasty and well balanced. The presentation is very appealing. The deserts not very sweet but exquisite. True french food experience with the right ambiance, staff and excellent food. Thank you for a memorable dinner!
The food was simply sub par. Nothing was memorable or delicious. The charcuterie platter was ok but I had to constantly ask for one more slice of bread which the wait staff begrudgingly gave me. The escargots and soup of the day were inedible. My main course chicken with olives had such an overwhelming olive flavor it knocked me for a loop. I ate it but not the potatoes that came with it which were bone dry due to over baking. Nothing was mouth watering good to eat. In fact, for the price and hype it was disappointing.
Le Grenier is one of our favorite restaurants in DC and definitely our go-to place for French food. It is often the place we go to when we are dining with friends from out of town and we recommend it to people every chance we get. This time, we were were just going out for a nice date night and were happily surprised to learn it was restaurant week when we got there. The food and device were excellent as always. We will keep coming back here.
Thought I would get restaurant week deals, but they didn’t do it for lunch, which was a B+. Other restaurants do participate for lunch for restaurant week.
Best French cuisine and great tasting drinks. This was a great experience.
Service is a bit silent, food is good, wine by the glass selection is disappointing.
It was a great experience! If you want a place where you can go, talk, and enjoy the time you are there, Le Grenier is the right place! I went with my friends and we had time to admire their fun decoration, talk and take a good look on the menu before even picking our drinks. After ordering a bottle of wine, we also had more time just to enjoy each other's company, but at any time we felt left out, the friendly staff was always around, pouring more water in our glasses, asking if we had any questions without rushing us. When we finally picked our courses, they promptly brought a baguette that was nice and warm and butter. All our courses were amazing, from the looking to the taste, we could tell they use fresh products. Dessert was a show apart, a Crepe suzzete with Flambé Grand Marnier beautifully flambling in front of us. I will definitely come back, and would recommend to friends.
Despite the restaurant week timing, everything about dinner at Le Grenier was fantastic as my ratings show. It is also a caring, friendly place. Our first-time French guests were over the moon at ghe quality of the food and the ambiance. Bravo as always. And thank you!
This is just quality French cooking. Always a satisfying dining experience. Intimate space for a good conversation. You won't be disappointed with this neighborhood spot.
