Seafood
Acadian-style seafood now has firm representation on Montreal’s dining scene, with Le Fricot now open in Little Burgundy, complete with vintage crab shack décor. The Notre-Dame W restaurant will centre its menu around the classic guédille (lobster roll) and other variations, particularly featuring seafood. Trout gravlax and poutine râpée (a filled potato dish) are also on the menu, as well as crab dip and a haddock pogo.

The wait for the underwhelming food was less than satisfactory. The so called “fresh market fish” halibut was overcooked and served on a plate with no other flavours than a squash purée and other orange coloured items. To say the least, Le Fricot should rethink certain items on their menu.

We waited at least 30 minutes before being seated even though we had had made a reservation and only ate 1.45 minutes into our experience. An exaggerated wait for food that shouldn’t take that long to prepare, seeing that we ordered oysters and lobster rolls. Once we actually received our meals there was a mistake and had wait again for the correct order. The staff was very accommodating to our situation and offered us the meal for free.

Our waiter, awful and many mistakes. Staff clothing-look in général: slopy, very neglicted. Sticky table, table plastic napperon stink. For what it is, snack food basically, top expensive. As it is now, this place won’t last for long.

Food is amazing!! Service is great! The only problem for me music was too loud so everyone in restaurant had to scream over it which made it impossible to have a conversation.

Really good and solid food. No gimmicks. You won't find good food like that easily. The soup was wonderful and savory. The Gravlax excellent. Good wine and beer selection.

My favourite is always maritime cuisine, and particularly Acadian cooking, so I was looking forward to trying this one out. The meal was excellent. I chose the Shediac Classic, two 4" lobster rolls....YUM! It's a limited menu but with good options and daily specials, including a couple of vegetarian options. It's worth a visit.

The only thing i would say as a negative is that the wine pricing is a little high compared to other restaurants of the same pricing. Other then that the restaurant as a whole is incredible!!!

The portions are very small for the price and it took a long to get served and to obtain the bill. I may give Le Fricot another try and not order the lobster rolls as I live in the Griffintown area and I believe in supporting local establishments :)

What I really enjoyed about Le Fricot is the dishes were unusual - not your everyday fare. I would heartily recommend it to the adventurous eater, those who like to be surprised. The Caesar is also *chef's kiss*

The food is delicious - especially the fried chicken and the classique guédille with all the lobster that could possibly fit inside a bun.

Le bruit était très élevé, nous avions de la difficulté à s’entendre parler. On va au resto entre amis pour se jaser !
Nous avons demandé au serveur de baisser le volume, il a répondu que ce n’était pas possible :((

From the time we walked in, to the time we left, we had awesome service, all our questions were answered, server made a few suggestions, which we loved.
The only thing i would change, is have a bilingual menu.

Relaxed and welcoming down-home spot for really tasty and slightly reinvented maritime food. Their version of a poutine is a must try!
