Scam alert: this restaurant does not open as advertised. It only opens “when there are enough reservations.” They let you book though, and never call you to tell you they won’t open. So the disappointment comes after you’ve planned, taken a cab, and shown up at the door. The entire room can be seen, except all doors are locked. Perhaps an issue when you have planned a date night?

The next door restaurant knows it, and tries to attract those customers who had booked the French quarter bistro jazz. The issue is, the next door restaurant’s food and atmosphere are completely different from this one.

Avoid booking at all costs. Opentable should not list this restaurant.

French Quarter was closed when we showed up due to lack of heating. We understand that things happen but they did not bother to call to let us know the situation. We were scrambling to find a place for 6 people at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism. Sorry for the poor rating but there was no Other way to summit the review. NA was not an option

Great Cajun food with really nice owners and servers. We ordered the crab cakes and jumbo shrimp as appatizers and gumbo as the main. The band was wonderful and we sang along to old favourites. A good time was had by all.

Place was empty with the music getting started only around 9:30 after being told it was to start around 8:00.. Food was very good and fresh, service was impeccable.. With the music being the draw, it wont last long if they don't get their act together.. Too bad!

I went on a Thursday night. I enjoyed the ambiance and live music. Please note that you must pay an entrance fee when there is a live band. This was not clear, though I'm told there was a sign out front; it wasn't particularly visible. I was charged on my bill. It's a reasonable price, all things considered, just a surprise, given that many places offer live entertainment for free or charge you right from the get-go upon entry.

The pricing is a bit obscene on drinks. I know it's Old Port pricing, but I've been to various bars in the Old Port and drinks are usually a good 2-3 dollars less expensive. (e.g. Johnny Walker Green Label at another Old Port restobar cost 16$; the Vieux Carré cocktail at this place was also 16$. Delicious, despite being light on alcohol content and overpriced.)

The food is promising, but my particular meal was on the salty side as they were a bit disproportionate on condiments.

The service was mostly good. My waiter was friendly, but my food took 45 minutes to arrive. I ordered a singular appetizer. Moreover, I had reserved through this platform and they did not have my reservation. I requested a bar seat in my reservation. None were available and I was given a booth. One of the managers or owners came to take in my comments and offered a free drink in compensation for my experience, which was very kind of them.

The dining room was chilly and so was the food. Bbq brisket sandwich arrived cold and this was after we waited nearly fifteen minutes for our cocktails. This could maybe be overlooked if they were busy but the place was less than a quarter full. If you are visiting Montreal skip this place there are more delightful restaurants to choose from.

Surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, especially given the live music. The menu is currently in transition. I had a clam bowl that was quite good, just needed a bit of Tabasco for my taste. The gumbo tasted good, but was a “ creative “ interpretation. Don’t expect a soup! We had a good time, very attentive waiter!

The Cajun food was better than in NOLA - taken the tastes of NOLA & made them relevant. I had the spicy grillled shrimp with rice and veggies and it was fantastic. My date had the gumbo & he loved it. We also want to say how fantastic it was to enjoy the show by Ariana and Curtis - get there on Tuesdays and Thursdays to hear them. Wonderful food, music and service just a couple of short blocks down from Notre-Dame . Perfect for post AURA light show dinner.

The owner and her staff could not have been more friendly and particularly accepting of an anglo french speaker (attempting). More Montreal and area restaurants could take a cue from that statement! Menu is comprehensive with something for every palate and from a guy who lived in the South, their Bayou choices were very well done.
