Overall a wonderful experience!
Beautiful restaurant with warm and gracious service. The food was absolutely delicious.
Excellent service and wonderful food - celebrated my friend’s birthday here. The crepinette is a must-try! As is the tomato terrine.
Updated French Classics, executed to perfection! Flawless service.
Everything was spectacular. The service was extremely knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive. Decadence at its most refined.
We had our anniversary dinner at Le Coucou, and could not imagine how it could have been any better. The food, service and atmosphere were at the highest possible levels, beyond anything we have experienced in years.
I would recommend for the culinary experience, but I’ve had better.
Incredible “white table cloth” dining with out pretends or stuffiness. Great food that isn’t too adventurous, but extremely well prepared and tasty.
an oasis of peace and calm in lower Manhattan. Super for breakfast. What a way to start the day.
From welcome to goodbye, the staff at Le Coucou was charmingly attentive. There were reservations about making a birthday reservation online, though the experience at Le Coucou, confirmed that this establishment both reads, discusses, and executes at the highest level of guest experience and expectation. By comparison, our pre-dinner drinks at Mr. Purple was an absolute disaster. The host was unable to locate our RSVP for 10min, suggested that we didn't make one - for my girlfriend's 30th - and neglected to inform us that the establishment was hosting an event that evening, so we would have to take an unflattering seat next to some overserved and unsavory gentlemen.
Delicious food & service! Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Everything excellent except that they forgot the special occasion that I noted on the reservation.
Fantastic meal. Exceptional service from the beginning to end. I will be back here with my wife in the near future.
Perfect in every way!
The menu is limited, but unique. Each dish is a discovery. This includes beverages as well, such as the Normandy ciders. The wine list, at 43 pages, is best studied beforehand. Service is friendly and efficient. The only unhappiness may come with the check: this is an expensive restaurant. But for its attention to detail, the decor and ambience, Le Coucou is worth a try. Just budget for it.
Hard pressed to think of a better restaurant in NYC ( and there are lots of really good ones). Food execution is perfect .. but the food is not pretentious. Large wine list.. but need to dig to find the best price/value.
I live in CA and try to eat here about 4x per year.
Wonderful. A great option for lunch.
It's a beautiful, sophisticated restaurant. The food is good, but there were complaints about miniscule, tiny portions.
39min waiting time before being seated despite reservation
Food was terrible (not tasty , sweetbreads smelling , foie gras of bad quality)
Wine priced far too high vs retail prices . Sommelier had no clue what he was saying about the wines
I booked the nice seats for my husband birthday, but we ended up in the corner of the restaurant close to the kitchen. Everything is good except the seating
Their dishes are very interesting and
delicious. We had the muscle dish that was made to be like escargot. It was outstanding as well as the whole rabbit cooked 3 different ways. Service was exceptional as well! We will go back.
#1 best meal of my entire life. Oysters, foie gras, and sweetbeads are a must. And the staff was really wonderful. I would 100 percent describe this meal as "dank," and by dank I mean "incredibly awesome. " Merci!
Wonderful Romantic place ! Everything was amazing from the food to the service .
Everything was perfect but for the main server, a woman, who did not smile even once. Everyone else was spectacular including the sommelier. We'll return!!!
I had an outstanding experience. I already want to go back!
Wanted to take my girlfriend out to somewhere special and definitely met the expectations
Perfect place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Elegant atmosphere and excellent, knowledgeable wait staff. The food is perfection. Don’t miss the ‘mussels disguised as snails’ , the foie gras grille’ aux cerisis, and the lobster. The prime filet is also excellent! With this menu, you cannot go wrong!
Excellent ambience but rather average food sadly with not very friendly service- service without smile.
Beautiful restaurant, nice to watch the open kitchen. Very good food, although pricey. New and trendy.
Food was great!
Our dinner was superb, and the service was good once we were attended, however we sat with menus and no greeting for the first 20 minutes. We were also at an awkward table on the corner of a wall in the walk way which felt uncomfortable, I was a little disappointed as I had booked online a month ago (as soon as I could) to ensure a table. However the food and setting was lovely, overall we had a positive experience and I would recommend this restaurant.
This is the best restaurant in New York, it embodies smooth, polite and kind service with the most imaginative and perfectly made food.
How nice to saunter from the restaurant with a smile on one 's face.
Amazing in every respect, the food, the service, the relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be back.
Le Coucou is a gem! We like everything about it, most importantly of course the very high quality of the food! The decor is tasteful; it is a treat to be able to have a conversation in a normal voice; the staff are professional and helpful. We had a three-hour lunch with friends and all agreed that our dishes made us feel like we were back in France!
Ambiance was special. Service was lacking. Food was good, but not memorable.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, excellent service.
Best restaurant I have been to in years.
Incredible and not as expensive as advertised. In fact a great deal for service and food.
The ambience and service of the place was outstanding but the food was very mediocre and the steak I ordered was chewy.
beautiful atmosphere . First we started with the leeks which were delicious. Then this chicken croquet. The menu seemed odd that you could not get like a solid food type. Like the croquet was a meatball. But since I don't eat things like sweetbreads or rabbit the meatball was the most appealing. It was a good meatball but for the way this restaurant is touted I expected more. The duck for two was interesting . the leg served in a little casulet ,was perfection, but the duck breast we had to send back. so rough and grizzly. They insisted on remaking it only to have it taste the exact same way. I couldn't chew it. I didn't have the heart to send it back again. I did ask for another delicious leg, and not the breast again, but my request was ignored. Baked Alaska dessert was good , nothing that lingered in my mind the next day. Oh also my wine was not chilled and I had to sit with small pouring of warm rose until it chilled. Not the way I want to dine at this level Supposedly) Dont think I will be spreading the word on this one
