Had the chocolate gateau with white coffee ice cream. It was the best coffee ice cream I’ve ever had.
It was our 12th anniversary and everything was perfect!!
Amazing food. Excellent service!
We had the most wonderful experience. Our server, Ethan, skillfully guided us through the menu and made great recommendations when asked. He was there when we needed him and he wasn’t when we didn’t - the mark of truly excellent service. The sommelier, Jerry, found us an excellent bottle of wine at a price point we were comfortable with. Those sweetbreads. Oh My God. Those sweetbreads! Also, the tomato terrine blew my mind! Thanks for a lovely evening.
It was a birthday celebration. Service and food are great. We had a good time.
I took my ex girlfriend there for her birthday and later that night she told me I better not marry anyone else. Must be alright.
Food and service were faultless. Impressive wine list, which was priced accordingly.
Incredible experience. Put this restaurant at the top of your NYC bucket list.
Fabulous experience - well done - will defiantly come back
LeCoucou is pure class, elegance, and culinary excellence! One delicious course after another came out of the talented kitchen to make this meal a memorable experience. Something as simple as heirloom tomatoes were taken to a new level in an attractive terrine served with a rich fennel creme and topped with caviar. The foie gras was served with a seasonal cherry reduction. It was done on the grill, giving it a slightly charred smokey flavor without altering the overall texture. The addition of girolle mushrooms was an umami blast that rounded out the dish. Maine Lobster is a standout here, and it was served au poivre. It is easy to overpower the delicate flavors of lobster, but the creamy sauce with just the right element of heat complimented the tender claws and tail. The Pigeon Cote de Provence was also impressive and done with a classic regional anchovy vinaigrette and some golden brown fried artichoke hearts. The wine list at LeCoucou is deep and well curated. Although it is rightfully French focused, my server recommended a beautiful Corsican selection that was a perfect compliment to the anchovy vinaigrette. Service was crisp, knowledgable, and friendly. LeCoucou lived up to its Michelin Star, and then some. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning as soon as possible.
Service was snobby. Among the snide comments that evening, when asked if they had Napoleon pastries for desert, the waiter responded with “...no, we are more focused on French desserts here...”. Thanks, I’ll have my $2,000 dinner elsewhere next time, garçon.
Overall a wonderful experience!
The only thing that would have made this meal better is if we were at one of Chef Rose's restaurants in Paris.
Beautiful restaurant with warm and gracious service. The food was absolutely delicious.
Excellent service and wonderful food - celebrated my friend’s birthday here. The crepinette is a must-try! As is the tomato terrine.
Updated French Classics, executed to perfection! Flawless service.
Everything was spectacular. The service was extremely knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive. Decadence at its most refined.
We had our anniversary dinner at Le Coucou, and could not imagine how it could have been any better. The food, service and atmosphere were at the highest possible levels, beyond anything we have experienced in years.
I would recommend for the culinary experience, but I’ve had better.
Incredible “white table cloth” dining with out pretends or stuffiness. Great food that isn’t too adventurous, but extremely well prepared and tasty.
an oasis of peace and calm in lower Manhattan. Super for breakfast. What a way to start the day.
From welcome to goodbye, the staff at Le Coucou was charmingly attentive. There were reservations about making a birthday reservation online, though the experience at Le Coucou, confirmed that this establishment both reads, discusses, and executes at the highest level of guest experience and expectation. By comparison, our pre-dinner drinks at Mr. Purple was an absolute disaster. The host was unable to locate our RSVP for 10min, suggested that we didn't make one - for my girlfriend's 30th - and neglected to inform us that the establishment was hosting an event that evening, so we would have to take an unflattering seat next to some overserved and unsavory gentlemen.
Delicious food & service! Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Everything excellent except that they forgot the special occasion that I noted on the reservation.
Fantastic meal. Exceptional service from the beginning to end. I will be back here with my wife in the near future.
Perfect in every way!
The menu is limited, but unique. Each dish is a discovery. This includes beverages as well, such as the Normandy ciders. The wine list, at 43 pages, is best studied beforehand. Service is friendly and efficient. The only unhappiness may come with the check: this is an expensive restaurant. But for its attention to detail, the decor and ambience, Le Coucou is worth a try. Just budget for it.
Hard pressed to think of a better restaurant in NYC ( and there are lots of really good ones). Food execution is perfect .. but the food is not pretentious. Large wine list.. but need to dig to find the best price/value.
I live in CA and try to eat here about 4x per year.
Wonderful. A great option for lunch.
It's a beautiful, sophisticated restaurant. The food is good, but there were complaints about miniscule, tiny portions.
39min waiting time before being seated despite reservation
Food was terrible (not tasty , sweetbreads smelling , foie gras of bad quality)
Wine priced far too high vs retail prices . Sommelier had no clue what he was saying about the wines
I booked the nice seats for my husband birthday, but we ended up in the corner of the restaurant close to the kitchen. Everything is good except the seating
Their dishes are very interesting and
delicious. We had the muscle dish that was made to be like escargot. It was outstanding as well as the whole rabbit cooked 3 different ways. Service was exceptional as well! We will go back.
#1 best meal of my entire life. Oysters, foie gras, and sweetbeads are a must. And the staff was really wonderful. I would 100 percent describe this meal as "dank," and by dank I mean "incredibly awesome. " Merci!
Wonderful Romantic place ! Everything was amazing from the food to the service .
Everything was perfect but for the main server, a woman, who did not smile even once. Everyone else was spectacular including the sommelier. We'll return!!!
I had an outstanding experience. I already want to go back!
Wanted to take my girlfriend out to somewhere special and definitely met the expectations
Perfect place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Elegant atmosphere and excellent, knowledgeable wait staff. The food is perfection. Don’t miss the ‘mussels disguised as snails’ , the foie gras grille’ aux cerisis, and the lobster. The prime filet is also excellent! With this menu, you cannot go wrong!
