Le Colonial NYC is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Le Colonial NYC serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables. .For a groups of 5 or more, Le Colonial reserves the right to charge $25 per cover for no show reservations.

I’ve been here many times. Things have slipped a little. If it wasn’t so good in previous vsisits, I wouldn’t have noticed but there were a few issues. I liked the addition of a poopoo platter of 6 apps. They were excellent. My drink took excessively long to get, went to the wrong table and finally reached me. Plus, the duck, which is usually amazing didn’t have the usual crispy skin was a bit too fatty and was a little underdone. The Vietnamese coffee however is still sensational and sinfully delicious.

Consistantly excellent through the years and as the memu evolves, classic dishes remain and all that I jave tasted are good quality, well prepared and pleasing to the palate. This vitit I especially enjoyed the appetizer tasting tower.

We just celebrated my husband’s birthday there with friends and everyone was very happy with everything including the cocktails!
