Le Colonial NYC is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Le Colonial NYC serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables. .For a groups of 5 or more, Le Colonial reserves the right to charge $25 per cover for no show reservations.

Le Colonial NYC Ratings and Reviews
I'm always delighted by the food choices, presentation and attentive service. Anything on the menu that sounds good is good. But ask for what spices are included, just in case you object to any. My friend and I shared a crispy fish. It was moist and crispy at the same time. We started with a few appetizers. All in all it was perfect. As we looked around we recognized that the decor is timeless, comfortable and elegant.
The food quality at Le Colonial is always top notch, with an extensive and interesting menu. Excellent venue for business lunches, the ambiance is friendly and conducive and easy to chat / listen. Service is always attentive without being overbearing.
I always look forward to and enjoy my lunch appointments at Le Colonial and highly recommend it!
We started going to Le Colonial when our two sons were young and have continued to go for years. Our one son liked it so much, he chose it as the venue to propose to his now wife. The staff is courteous and efficient, quietly keeping and eye on the table. The food is excellent and we have never had anything we did not think was exceptional. Prices are in line with finer Midtown restaurants.
Fantastic overall experience, both food and service were outstanding.
if you want a really quiet and romantic setting ask to be seated upstairs.
Fantastic French Vietnamese food without having to break the bank. You cannot go wrong at this restaurant for any occasion. one of my favorites in all of NY>
Cold winter nights and warm delicious pho does good to your body and soul.
We were immediately greeted by the staff and taken to our table where the server recommended their signature dishes and yes, we were not disappointed!
Beautiful decor, warm and friendly staff and delicious food with a modern touch of French Vietnamese made our experience here very special.
Service was attentive without being intrusive. The General Manager too stopped by to ask about our experience and we felt like we were truly taken care of.
Look forward to dining here again.
This was my first time goin to LE COLONIAL and it was great experience ,my wife and I celebrated our anniversary here today
Our food was very tasteful and good portions, the service was amazing as well
The ambience was romantic and classy. The decor was beautiful and colonial themed, I will highly recommend this little diamond in the heart of the city.
So disappointed. This our fourth time here in the past ten years, and it has not held up well. They changed the Vietnamese ravioli to a mushroom ravioli in fish sauce that was nowhere near as good as its predecessor. The spare ribs were a bit dry, and the monkfish dish was also dry. Considering the prices they charge, you expect much more than you get at a regular Vietnamese restaurant. We will not return.
Great foodservice and ambiance. I love the food, service and the fact that I can have a conversation with the other person. I have enjoyed this place since it opened and I was a young girl and went to the bar upstairs. Noow I am old and in a wheel chair and they were just great in helping me get in and out Overall fantastic
Our waiter forgot to put in our order and then disappeared so we waited an hour for our food. My husband ordered the duck special and it was very dry. My daughter’s dish had pieces of shrimp and calamari that were boarder line burnt with tons of whole herbs she had to work around/spit out. The pho noodles were also under cooked. They did take off a small amount off our bill for the wait. Overall disappointed with the food since I had seen such good reviews.
The elimination of the prix fixe lunch is a disappointment, and the restaurant no longer represents a good quality/price ratio. Still, the kitchen turns out Franco-Vietnamese dishes of good quality and the neo-colonial decor is both attractive and unusual for midtown.
Always a go to when my friends are in town from London, they never disappoint. My only criticism is that not once but multiple times during the end of our meal the waitress interrupted very intense conversation. It's not that she was unaware either - she kept saying "I'm sorry to interrupt" which made it almost worse. It didn't bother me as much but I thought my friend, who was paying for the meal btw, was going to lose it. I'm sure we will be back because everything else was great as usual. We just may take a little break.
Le Colonial remains a consistenely good resturant and a lovely dining setting. It could use an update to the menu and the duck is one dish that can be either outstanding or so dry there is not enough beverages on the table to requench your thirst. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
I was so excited to introduce my friend Vietnamese cuisine. The price does not live up the food quality. As pricy as Nobu57 but quality 10 times lower. Good ambient, good service, pricey but the food 's just like an average restaurant. Pork rib, fish, and rice were cold and fatty. The meal cost roughly $150 but we just could eat a half. Not much authentic Vietnamese food.
