Great food, interesting menu, good bar but need a better champagne choice. Perfect service.
This is a favorite of our for sure!! Don’t miss the whole fish and garlic noodles!!!
This was a first visit but won't be the last. Went for a late lunch, the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. Had a wonderful time
Portions are large and good for sharing. Lovely decor. Drinks are pricey. Waiter seemed overwhelmed. Had two other larger groups which I believe impacted his ability to get to us. We had to ask twice for our drink order. Food comes out fast.
Exceptional meal and service.
Love it there.
I’m a long time customer
As always the food service and ambiance was great!
First time we’ve been back in a while and we were satisfied. Excellent food and service was perfect. We will be back!
Birthday party for friends. Always a pleasure dining here
We were allowed a great deal of leisurely time to eat and chat and were not
rushed. Food is delicious and served promptly. There was a great observation and care
of allergy notation.
We enjoyed a very lovely dinner celebrating a special occasion with our family. Our server was particularly outstanding helping us with the food selections and then expertly orchestrating the pace of the courses throughout the dinner. The food was very good , and there were many wonderful and varied dishes and proteins to choose from. Certainly there was something for everyone to enjoy. From champagne toast to the meal's sweet finish, it was a memorable dinner.
THE ultimate high end Vietnamese restaurant, on Chicago's Gold Coast. Excellent introduction to Vietnamese cuisine if you're not familiar with it, with a hint of French influence, with great atmosphere and impeccable service to boot. Of course, you pay up a lot for what you can get much cheaper in Uptown Chicago, but if a quality setting is important to you, it's well worth it. For us, the menu's highlight is always the steamed sea bass but really, everything is top notch (well, except maybe the sticky rice with mushrooms, which is rather plain).
Wonderful. Excellent service, albeit a little rushed.
Delicious food and cocktails with a beautiful atmosphere.
Everything you could want for a dinner out! A fun, escapist atmosphere, excellent service and outstanding food. Often the appetizers are the best part - but not here. Every single dish was delicious and every bite was flavorful. The cocktails complimented the food nicely. And to finish, the macaroon - just wow!
Cuisine, cast of lovely service staff , especially Chewy and Raphael! Special.
Exemplary in the luxury neighborhood in which it is the new beacon for dining.
Always my favorite spot in Chicago and I love the new location!
Le Colonial is a beautiful restaurant and a pleasure to dine in these surroundings. From my beautiful French cocktail to appetizers and the beef for dinner, it was delicious!
We were not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner!
Always is excellent!!!
Servers very professional
The chiken ravioli were Great and the margarita at the bar excellent!
I’ve been here a few times and the food is melt in your mouth. This time it was very meh. Dumplings were a little tough. Short ribs were good but nothing to rave about. The pho was delicious. And the lemon tart was very run of the mill...kind of Starbucks level.
Three of us and we all felt the same. Disappointed
Overall, the atmosphere was picture perfect but the food was okay and the service was slow. We ordered the Bo Sate. It looked and tasted like a Lien Cuisine from my college days. The tuna tartare was okay.
Always a great time!
10/10 in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast
Seated out on porch- very quiet and intimate. Food was superb.
The food is fabulous. It took awhile for someone to come to the table for drink orders and even to order etc. They were very busy and very polite when they did get there. It was a lovely lunch over all.
Even with the restaurant at capacity, the service was excellent and we didn’t feel rushed. My two favorite menu items, the Banh Cuon and macaroon, were both delicious. We also tried the monkfish appetizer and loved that as well. Raphael and his team continue to make this a really enjoyable place.
Amazing ambience wnd great food!!! Stir fry chicken was awesome
My favorite Gold Coast spot for sophisticated dining in a luxurious and captivating setting.
I particularly enjoy the service at the front door and the Maitre de who routinely makes his customers feel special.
Fabulous ambience and excellent food dishes! So delicious, one of our favorites restaurants!
It was great!
Our service had 3 special dietary needs from the menu. Suggestions were perfect, food and service also.
Excellent ambiance, fabulous food, and attentive staff
Le Colonial is always our first stop when we come to Chicago. The food, service, and atmosphere is exquisite!
I love this restaurant and am never disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious and came quickly. The service was attentive as well.
We have been to Le Coloniel in the past and thought the food was better. However, on this visit, we enjoyed banana mango tapioca. Pho a small portion but very good. Duck undercooked but waiter compensated with gratuitous coffee and tea.
Somehow either the passage of time or the move to the new location seems to have sadly lessened our overall experience at Le Colonial. While covid precautions were very good, the food did not wow us as it has it the past. The cold shrimp wraps had no distinctive flavoring and, while nicely presented the poke appetizer could not compete with the poke bowl I had for lunch that day at an American bistro. Beef crepe appetizer also not wowing and, light on the beef. Main course of shrimp stir was good, if overpriced. Curry dishes good but again, lacking that real Le Colonial "wow." The new setting is lovely but lacks some of the cozy intimacy of Rush Street. I hope it will improve as this has always been a lovely special occasion dining experience in Chicago.
I took my out-of-town friend for lunch yesterday. All of us enjoyed the kind service and delicious dishes! Thank you so much!
Delicious food & first class service
Fantastic food, great ambiance!!
Unfortunately service was nit great, waiter was very unfriendly!
