Love the restaurant. All flavors are delicious and ambiance is exquisite!
I had dinner at Le Colonial three times this week and loved each of the experience. By far, my favorite restaurant in Chicago and I send everyone I can.
Raphael and team do a wonderful job! Thank you!
We visited the new location, and thought the space was nice, but were disappointed that the menu seemed pared back. But the food and service were good.
Fantastic and beautifully presented food. Great ambiance.
George was a great server. Food was delicious and fresh. Loved the Thai chili margarita!
Fantastic fusion of Asian and French cuisine as ever. Every choice was great.
Fine all around. Only issue was serving staff continually bumping my chair! Stopped after I got our server to intervene. Will return-a unique ambiance.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration for our son at Le Colonial this past weekend. Their new space on Oak Street is so gorgeous, rich, romantic and warm....it really transports you to another place. The food as always was amazing and the wine list is good and affordable. We had a lovely table overlooking Oak Street which was perfect.
Absolutely our favorite! We always make it a point to go here in Chicago. We were apprehensive when they moved from their charming location around the corner but they have accelerated with this new space. We love it!
Everything was wonderful! Will be tops on our list for our next visit to Chicago!
Excellent in every way.
We always dine at Le Colonial when in Chicago. I was sad to see they moved, but when we discovered it was just around the corner I was relieved. When we actually arrived, I was abundantly impressed at the execution of style in the new location. They really nailed the aesthetic and ambiance of the restaurant.
I was really disappointed not to see bouillabaisse on the menu. It is the best dish ever. Please bring it back!!!
Subpar viet food at super premium price.
Ingredients seem to be top notch.
Service is great.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at a lovely booth in the corner of the back room. Very romantic and quieter than most tables.
Food was outstanding and restaurant listened to my request for a dessert with candles- chocolate gelato with chocolate candy rounds with a candle on top. He loved his celebration at Le Colonial as did I!!!!!
Absolutely everything was fantastic! So yummy and so beautiful!!
My wife is Vietnamese and she absolutely loves this restaurant. Can’t wait to visit Chicago again. Try the ca bam. So yummy!!
Everything was delicious. We highly recommend the brussels spouts and bok choy sides.
Great food and service
We requested a table next to the window but this didn’t happen. Otherwise great.
Good food and lovely atmosphere.
We go to Le Colonial every time we visit Chicago, which is once a year. They basically do everything right with no detail left to chance. The food and service is incredible and very consistent, the surroundings are spot on Colonial era Vietnam. I can not recommend this experience enough.
Excellent food and excellent service. You can enjoy a table or hang out around the bar. Great ambiance; great value for the money considering the fancy Oak street address.
This place is always a treat. We loved the food, service and atmosphere. Our waitress was so helpful with ordering suggestions. And the food was wonderful.
Lovely lunch! Service was wonderful! Good delicious!
When I asked to be seated by the window the hostess was so sweet.
Food still great after ten years of annual get together... portions are rather small and not conducive to sharing however
Everything was perfection as usual!!!!
Service was terrible. I called to let restaurant know. Was very disappointed bc food was amazing and this was a special birthday celebration.
This is one of the best restaurants in Chicago! Love all of their food and the service is excellent. I often just stop at the bar for a delicious Lychee Martini and appetizers.....great way to end a busy day.
Not inexpensive, but worth the price for a great meal and excellent service.
While I feel like the old location had more of the Humphrey Bogart look, this space is very nice. I loved the lounge area. Food is delicious. I should go there more often!!!!!!
Picked Le Colonial for a work dinner, and everyone absolutely loved the food! Good wine choices and cocktails too.
Loved the food. Will come back
Tables are on top of each other
We have been a few times since the move to the new location, the interior design is a huge step up and the food has definitely improved considerably, the service is inconsistent, not least because often the servers are simply too busy to provide the service they should. The other side of this coin is that there are way too many covers being squeezed in. Especially in the strip overlooking the street it’s obviously impossible for all tables to have four people eating at each table at the same time. So everyone is shuffling for position and trying to be polite but basically feeling very uncomfortable and not enjoying it, or ending up in an argument. The space ratio is not much better elsewhere. So lots to offer, but obviously you need to take a few tables out, or as the novelty wears off, folks won’t bother.
Le Colonial continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I’m disappointed that the shrimp beignets aren’t on the menu any more, but there are still many other items I love. It seems there’s been a bit of turnover among the wait staff, and unfortunately, our service wasn’t as great as usual last weekend. But overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
Thank u for setting up a round table to accommodate all 9 of my guests!
I would have liked to have known that we should have ordered desserts for everyone bc the Birthday desserts sent out were not ordered by the birthday guests! This made it very awkward!
Otherwise, it was a lovely afternoon. With good food & ambiance.
Special as usual! One of the best stop in Chicago.
Good food and service. The only negative is we felt a little rushed.
Always a lovely experience with their professional waitstaff. Now located in their new space it offers an inviting atmosphere and the food is delightfully delicious!
The experience would have been improved had the waiter not been cold and perfunctory. The room was no longer very full, but the attitude was to have highly speedy interactions.
