Le Clos of Amelia Island, Inc.
The menu at Le Clos starts with classic French appetizers like escargot, pate, and calamari. Entres include a range of rustic French dishes, such as breast of chicken with citrus beurre blanc and beef and duck meatloaf with a red wine mushroom pan sauce.
The food, service and cozy atmosphere were perfect. I had the best roasted salmon I’ve ever tasted. Just a wonderful place.
Good food, good selection, great service
It is noisy but did not interfere with our conversation
That makes it fun
Ask for Ashlee. She’s an amazing server! Try the beef and duck meatloaf. And the house salad! The lightly fried goat cheese was wonderful!
Good service and excellent food. One of our guests ordered the special which was served 15 minutes after the ; a source of real discomfort. No explanation was given.
Le Clos continues to be our favorite restaurants. We are repeat customers and have never been disappointed in this small charming place. They have a great menu and wine selection. This is a small restaurant so bare in mind the ambient noise level can be high during busy times.
Food was excellent. Very attentive service. A bit noisy as dining room filled , but overall a great experience
We had an excellent meal! Appetizers were good, the calamari tower was fun.
My wife and I were visiting Amelia Island and wanted an upper scale (but not mega-bucks) place for dinner. Quiet, refined and with great food and a nice selection of wines. We were not disappointed.
The menu was a diverse selection of entrees - shrimp, scallops, salmon, pork tenderloin, steak, duck ... I had the duck. Amazing is the only way to describe it. Cooked perfectly medium rare and served with mushrooms, a ginger soy reduction, garden vegetables and chive whipped potatoes. My wife had the roasted North Atlantic salmon served in a (mild) garlic cream of shallots, Sun-dried tomato and spinach. Also with whipped chive potatoes. Both delicious and cooked to perfection.
I had the duck with Tribute cab (Sonoma). The cab worked with the duck because Sonoma cabs drink more like a gentle Merlot, yet with more complexity. A good Pinot Noir would have also been nice I think. (They had a Ron Rubin Russian River Valley Pinot that looked nice.)
My wife had the King Estate Pinot Gris (Williamette Valley) with her salmon and cream sauce. The choice worked well for her, but I would have chosen a more substantial Chardonnay.
Meals ranged from $20-30 and single glasses of wine from $8.50-$15, although most were about $10.00. So really, the food and drink are most reasonably priced and the quality outstanding.
If I lived in Fernandina Beach, I would go back and try everything. You should also.
We absolutely love this place. We brought our high school boys here for their last hurrah before school starts again. Best company, best food, beat place! Thank you for making our evening so memorable!! ♥️♥️
We had a wonderful meal! It would be difficult to suggest any changes. The service was impeccable, food prepared and presented beautifully—-can’t wait to go back.
A french restaurant as it should be, consistently good. Merci.
It was our first visit. Loved the portobello bruschetta appetizer, absolutely delicious!!!! Great wine list, too!
Everything was top notch.
First time at this restaurant, Service and dinner were outstanding, dessert, creme brûlée was delicious. I would definitely comeback and recommend!
Always a wonderful meal and excellent service. Never disappointed when we dine there. It is a small restaurant so sometimes can be a little noisy depending on how many large parties there are.
Outstanding food and service. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We were looking for a nice, but not too formal, dinner out while visiting Amelia Island. Le Clos felt very comfortable. The service was friendly but also attentive and added to a relaxed feel. The food was excellent. Some of the best escargot I’ve tasted. The steak au pointe was excellent. The wine pairings were both delicious and reasonably priced. I would have gone back for breakfast if they offered such a thing. This was a great meal with great service but not overly formal. We sat for dinner at 6 and the indoor dining was busy, but conversation was easy. Highly recommended.
The tables are too close together and the noise level is way too loud. We had a 7 pm reservation on Tuesday evening and while it's nice to see a busy restaurant it was difficult to have a conversation. Wine is overpriced. All the food was good and desserts were delicious.
Absolutely amazing ‘. We are snowbirds from NY and spend our winters in Amelia Island. We will be back to this wonderful restaurant! A true find!
We went to Le Clos because we had heard great things. It was noisy, and the service was slow. The food was good but was not served hot. Expected more.
Lovely and special restaurant in Fernandina Beach. We have eaten there many times and are always pleased with the delightful and attentive service. The food is outstanding and the menu offers many delicious items to choose from.
Outstanding food! Service very attentive but not overbearing. Nice atmosphere but once the place filled up the noise level was high making a quiet table conversation difficult. First time at Le Clos and I will definitely return.
Service, food, stellar. Mitsy was excellent along with her assistant. Thank you for everything!
Delicious. Escargot was fabulous. Pricey but worth it.
Always a hit for a date. Perfect food and service again.
We eat here at least once a year when we're in the area. It never disappoints!
We fancy ourselves hard to impress as we travel very frequently. The food was outstanding in a nice atmosphere. Service is what one typically finds in American restaurants. Interruptions, plate grabs (twice on this occasion) and the hustle out the door for the next seating. But, if you're looking for a very good meal, very well prepared, I trust that Le Clos will not disappoint.
We had the best meal ever. Tried both specials for the night. Steak and Halibut. Both were outstanding. Will certainly go back more often
Our favorite place on the island. Wonderful service, amazing food, in the cutest little beach cottage!
Love this place! The only objection was in seating right by the front door and so close together. We arrived as it opened with another group ahead of us were waIting. We were invited in for seating promptly. The first group ahead of us was seated at a table right by the front door. We were then shown to our table for two right beside the first group in the front near the door. It’s a very small restaurant of only 14 tables but no other tables were occupied yet. We promptly requested and were shown to another table that was not so tight. There were 13 other tables to be seated and I think they should not seat people so close or by the front door when there are 13 other tables to choose from before others even started to arrive, especially with a reservation.
The food and service was, as usual, outstanding.
Very average meal. Service was ridiculously immature for a restaurant that bills itself as fine dining. Waitress spilled wine while serving it and then rubbed it around the table cloth trying to dissipate the droplets. Didn’t wipe down the glass she spilled it on. Didn’t so much as apologize as tried to laugh it off. Food was fair to good but not anywhere near what they charged for it.
The restaurant was actually very quiet, not as I had rated. Loved our entire experience!
They were a bit crowded, but it was Saturday night so that was expected. They seated us and we enjoyed a wonderful evening and great food. We look forward to visiting again soon.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere!! Excellent food and friendly staff. Hard to go wrong
My favorite restaurant in Fernandina. Wonderful food, wine, service, and ambiance!
Le Clos continues to be one of our favorite restaurants on Amelia Island. We are never disappointed when we go there. This visit our party sampled all of their specials (appetizer and two entrees) and all were delicious.
Food was to die for. Everything was so rich and delicious. Service was impeccable. This dinner was definitely a treat for our family and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The escargot was unbelievable...so buttery and garlicky. The fried green tomatoes could be made into a main dish. They were wonderful. You must reserve at least a few days in advance. Don’t miss this beautiful little gem on Amelia Island.
Every time we come here it’s incredible. Top notch food and wine with top notch service. Can’t wait to go again
