Le Clos of Amelia Island, Inc.
The menu at Le Clos starts with classic French appetizers like escargot, pate, and calamari. Entres include a range of rustic French dishes, such as breast of chicken with citrus beurre blanc and beef and duck meatloaf with a red wine mushroom pan sauce.
Our meal was excellent.
Steak was cooked correctly but lacked sufficient amount of sauce leaving it somewhat dry; otherwise everything else was tasty,
Le Clos is a destination for us. We traveled to Fernandina Beach from South Carolina for the first time several years ago. On that trip we discovered Le Clos. We now plan getaways there at least annually and always ensure Le Clos can accommodate us. It is so consistent in every aspect of its dinner quality and service and never, ever disappoints. We were extremely pleased that their Vichyssoise was available on this visit. It's one of the best anywhere. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates good food, beautifully presented, and great service in a lovely atmosphere.
The evening started with a spill of gooey, wet stuff under the table. It got on my shoes and my purse. My dinner was luke warm and was returned. My hot tea was cold. The milk was curdled and floated on top of my tea and my husband's coffee. They returned with coffee for my husband, no tea for me and more curdled milk. Not our idea of an upscale restaurant.
Outstanding! I’ve eaten in many fine restaurants including Napa Valley. Le Clos is ever bit as good. Perfect experience all around.
Go. Enjoy!! Le Clos is PERFECT. We've dined there for close to 15 years and our only regret is never meeting Chef/Owner Katherine Ewing.
Le Clos was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! We went for our anniversary weekend which also happened to be a holiday weekend for which the noise is attributed. Amazing food and service and we will also recommend to friends traveling to the area.
Beautiful venue with excellent authentic French cuisine. Mitzy and the other waitresses were very knowledgeable and friendly. Good wine and Champagne selection as well.
This place never disappoints. It's a little cramped, and can be a bit noisy, but the service is very good and the food is always perfectly prepared and delicious.
Fine dining in a pleasant setting. The food is very good - get the escargot. The staff is both friendly and well trained.
This is one of the better restaurants in town. I highly recommend for good food and wine. I am disappointed with the noise level, however. I am a fairly young person and could barely hear the server as she listed the specials for the evening. I was with my older parents who were frustrated as well. The server saw this quickly, and, to her credit, she moved us to a beautiful outdoor garden. The noise level reduced with only a table of drunk socialites who left a few minutes after us and the bands playing in neighboring bars.
Le Clos is a lovely place but I would only return if I could get an outdoor table.
Excellent service and great food. I had the beef and duck meatloaf, my fiancé had the duck. Both were outstanding!
Le Clos has excellent food and service with quite a varied menu.
Amazing restaurant. So quaint, such great service, great/fantastic food, lovely restaurant. If you are in Amelia Island get yourself to this place. Every person that was part of our wait staff was so nice. Ashley ( i think that was her name) was just fabulous with recommendations and service. Thank you so much Le Clos for such a great meal experience
It was absolutely delicious! Loved it!! Great place for a birthday dinner with friends!
Very cute little restaurant, but they cram the tables too close and it’s way too noisy – particularly when there are a couple of parties of six or eight the restaurant
We live in Savannah but my wife and I visit Fernandina Beach two or three times a year. Le Clos is always on the top of our dining list. We have enjoyed dinner there many times and are always impressed with the quality of the food and the excellent service we receive. We’ll always make Le Clos one of our first stops.
This is one of the best meals I have ever had and that is saying something seeing as how I live near a large city. I had center cut tuna and it was tender as butter. The calamari appetizer was great as well. Sampled friends' duck, salmon and steak and it was fantastic. Make reservations well in advance. This restaurant is rather small so with all the conversation it gets a bit loud. Ask for a table in the alcove near the street. Only a few tables there.. The service was great and I thought the prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back,
Tuna was delicious! Cream caramel is what I was really there for though!!!
The best in north Florida. Every time we go to Amelia island we make it a point to get a reservation at Le Clos.
We have never been disappointed at Le Clos. They keep the menu small but everything is wonderfully prepared and they are willing to make accommodations if there is something you do not like on the entree as it is described. Always a great meal and wonderful evening when we go there.
This was a very special occasion -30th & 50th wedding anniversaries for 2 couples. Everyone’s food was outstanding, wine was great, service was fabulous. Thanks to the Chef & Staff for a Superb CELEBRATION!!
Wonderful food & excellent service. One of our favorite Amelia Island restaurants.
We were celebrating mynsuster’s 60th bjrthday- what a Wonderful dining experience. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large group. Food was amazing- wine list provided many wonderful choices-delicious desserts -Very special dining experience. Highly recommend.
Outstanding food and service. My wife loves Le Clos!
Trout was a little dry. Scallops, calamari, pate were perfect. All three desserts were fabulous!
Food and service were outstanding. We started with Escargot and the most amazing Caesar salad, the Caesar dressing was absolutely the freshest tasting dressing ever. Our entrees Tuna and Salmon were cooked to perfection. We will be back.
Slow and loud... something you don’t want in a restaurant and definitely for the price point it’s offered at. If they don’t fix their issues their long Amelia Island presence will not continue.
I have eaten here numerous times. Every time I have had a great meal. Pricey but worth it for a great meal.
One of top restaurants on Amelia Island. A must place to dine.
Great food and friendly service. Highly recommend
Loved everything about the food and service!
We have enjoyed Le Clos for ten years. While our visits are not frequent the quality and enjoyment level are consistent and dependable every time. Food quality is second to none on the Island.
Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Good portions and wine choices.
This is one of our favorite restaurants and has never disappointed us.
Another great experience! Although only 4 tables altogether during our visit, one person handled all of the FOH operations (host, serve, bus). Perhaps another staff member would help ease the burden and elevate the experience. We will return!
I’ll start by saying the the food was really good (scallops), the dessert was excellent (chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream) and my French press coffee, delicious. One drawback is that the restaurant is very, very small and I felt cramped. The noise level was intense. We went on a Monday and it wasn’t even filled to capacity. I can only imagine how loud and cramped it feels on a Friday or Saturday. The food was pricey and you don’t get much. I guess that’s fine dining for ya’. The hostess could’ve been a little friendlier. Our waitress was very good and friendly.
This was the best meal I have had on Amelia Island in many a visit. The staff were extremely helpful, especially with our family member who had a special request for an item not on the menu. The food was exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend Le Clos to anyone.
Duck and Flounder were great. Vegetables were a little understated. Nice neighborhood to walk around before and after.
Extremely crowded. I am a small and I had a difficult time getting to my table/ navigating the restaurant. Noisy. Food was mediocre and expensive. Service was slow.
I'm really confused as to how this place received such high reviews.
