Le Bistro should have stayed closed. The staff are inexperienced and the service was poor. Food was nothing close to what was on the menu and our salads were not edible. The setting is lush and tropical. Jazz music set a nice ambiance. This was one of PV’s top restaurants at one time but has fallen to the bottom.

food was good, service was a little off..seemed staff was confused about which table got which food....but it didn't ruin the dinner... not that they weren't trying...seems the systems could be improved

Came for my wife's birthday, both our beers were very warm, the French onion soup was unappetizing, as was the brochette. My steak was about 1/3 complete fat and unedible.

This was a huge disappointment. There were only 8 people in the restaurant.... on a Saturday night. Apps were not cooked properly. Returned Duck as it was over cooked and too tough to chew & swallow. The lamb over cooked.l but had decent flavor.
Scallops under cooked. New “Chef” has a long way to go to be up to level as when Chef Kris was in charge. Cold & unappealing atmosphere. Will nor return

The onion soup was the best choice. Overall food needed a little more flavor. It was on the bland side. Price on the high side for what we received. Greeter & Staff were very friendly.

Service was rather slow for a workday meal. However, diners can order by phone ahead of arrival. Takeout is also an option. Good value.

The food and service were outstanding. The setting was ideal for comfortable conversation with your dinning friends. The bistro only seats about 30 and you are not rushed to eat so I would recommend reservations.

I enjoyed eating at Le Bistro more than I have any restaurant in a long time. The atmosphere was complimented by the pleasant decor, attentive staff and excellent of music. Most appreciated, there was NO TV blaring sports games or people constantly yapping on their cell phones. (I really don't care to know all the personal business of persons who talk loudly on the cell phone the entire time they are in a restaurant.) We were greeted politely and seated promptly. Kitchen is visible from seating area, but not distracting. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the selections. The food was delicious from appetizer through dessert. I had the scallops and they were perfect. Who ever wrote prior reviews indicating scallops were "not done" must like their food fried to death. These were sauteed ever so gently. My son had the French onion soup that he said was very good. My salmon was a generous portion seasoned with tarragon and without the strong taste some servings of salmon can have at other places. My son had the steak. Since he likes his meat well done, this was a little under cooked for him, but would have been perfect for me if I had ordered the steak (nicely pink inside). The only mistake was when dessert came, I was brought the same dessert as my son, but I had ordered cream brulee; this was quickly corrected. The coffee was excellent, "Real Coffee", not the "colored water" some places serve. The cabernet savignon I was served on my arrival and with my meal was very good, and not over priced. Overall, i would recommend this restaurant for adults who enjoy a well prepared excellent meal without all the obnoxious usual distractions of most restaurants today. Don't recommend for infants, poorly behaved children, or immature adults. We were there just over an hour on Saturday, 8/12/17 5:30pm to 6:45pm.

Service was fantastic. Management was great. Food did not come out properly. The new york steak was very tough, poor cut/quality of beef. Additionally the duck upset both of our stomachs.

Located at a culinary arts school our dining experience was enjoyable. The portions were nicely sized and the staff was courteous. The meal was a good quality of food for the price. We dined for lunch during restaurant week.

I was very disappointed in the food and their lackadaisical attitude to their patrons. We started the meal off with ordering a bottle of wine; however, they only had 1/2 bottle left and was not offered an alternative. We ordered appetizers, the presentation was very nice. I had crab cakes sitting on a tiny bit of roumalade not enough for the nondescript cakes. My friend had scallops, again not enough sauce. We then had our main course. My friend ordered duck that she said was tough. I had steak with bearnaise sauce. My steak was nondescript and the bearnaise was nonexistent. For dessert I had creme Brulle which was runny. Unfortunately the waiter told us they were out of spoons and gave us forks. You try eating ice cream and runny brulle with a fork. A normal person would have washed two spoons and not embarrass the restaurant. This was an expensive meal and I wasted my money.

Steak was over cooked
The green beans while tastes still had there inedible stems still attached

Just the right portions and tasty. The crime brûlée was also tasty

Lighting was good. Service by Ian was great
The wine woman was less than helpful in our opinion. As if she couldn't believe some people do not have a taste for it.

We were attracted to the fact this was a school and offered views of the kitchen. We were not disappointed with the experience.
There was one issue; my steak was either a poor piece of meat or was poorly butchered. It had a lot of gristle and silver skin which should have been trimmed off.
We do plan to come again.

I booked this place for lunch today not knowing they have an event. its their graduation day so the restaurant should close to public like us.the service is slow, the dining room is crowded, the food is pretty good but we wanted so so so long to get our food.
I would recommend not to open to public if they have an event

We have been here before so we took friends for dinner. As others have mentioned it sometimes is not very busy and on this Sat night there were only 5 other tables being served. The restaurant thus was very quiet and good for catching up on things with our friends. The food was quite good...dates in dough were crispy and beet salad was different and tasty. The duck of my friend was cooked to perfection and enough served to take some home. The scallops had a fair amount of garlic but were cooked to perfection and very large. My fish also was excellent. I would have liked the halibut a little firmer but it was pretty flaky and tasty. Service was very polite and good. Wine selection by the glass was also good.

Officially off my list - waiter had no training, manager was rude, and who on earth serves the starter and the salads at the same time??? We were told it is to pace the kitchen - right.... that is why 40 minutes after we finished the salads and starter we were served fish cooked beyond recognition and lamb served almost raw. If you decide to try this place only order the wine and bread - very nice wine list and excellent bread - but that is it. This place used to be one of our favorites - we even had a work team building at the restaurant. Not sure what has happened but this is the last time for us. Too many other restaurants in town that offer much more for the same price. There were only 3 tables on a Saturday night - perhaps others have given up on them too.

If you ever have dined at a serious school of culinary art, you would think Le Bistro could be a wonderful experience. Wrong! I don't know who writes the positive reviews of this place, but what a waste of money and time! I must say that unlike most Houston restaurants, though I hesitate to dignify this place with that tag, it was quiet. Why? Because the place was largely deserted, and for good reason. The menu was extremely limited and unimaginative. We won't be back. This place should be delisted by Open Table, whose standards I now question.
