Amazingly Disgusting !
If my previous review of this place from two years ago started with “Amazing” and proclamation of love of this place than this time around I start saying that it is the most horrible place that I have been at while on St. Barth. Besides the obvious disappointment I feel a certain level of betrayal as this place was first on my list this time. Without going into detail, every single dish was unappealing and plainly tasteless. It is hard to take these wonderful ingredients make something so awful, they somehow succeeded. To have your waiter come over ask how the dinner was and managing to politely reply that it was not near as good as a last time and have him begin to educate you and put you down as only French could gastronomically speaking, was a bit shocking. Thank God I am old enough to control my emotions. As unfortunate as it may be but hurricane Irma has not only stripped roofs of this wonderful island but somehow made some people rude and its restaurants unwelcoming. Perhaps, it will take time before things will normalize and people stop cheating its customers for a quick financial reward. Let’s see who survives and who will not.

This restaurant is gorgeous. Right on the beach. Caring, responsive service from valet to sommelier. There are seriously critical reviews online about this wonderful restaurant, so, since we were just there today, 21 Feb, I must assume that the management has read every one of them, and made the appropriate adjustments that would make today’s restaurant so wonderful. So thanks to the critics, because we thoroughly enjoyed our perfect lunch! GO!

Great restaurant overall. Amazing location on the water. We did not like the first table offered however - it was too wide for two of us to have a good experience and talk. The second table was great. As for the food, the Mahi in sauce duglere was excellent. A special dessert was good too. Let me rave though about Margot our server. She was fantastic and reason enough to go there. The sommelier was also excellent with great choices and great descriptions.

Beautiful beach scenery. I had the Mahi Mahi with mashed sweet potatoes which was good, but a very small portion of fish. My husband ordered the tacos, which had chicken and taco shells, but were a far cry from a Mexican preparation being made with curry and supposedly made with an unrecognizable Marsala sauce. He sent it back and they did replace it with a Delicious hamburger and fries.

We had the beef wellington.
It was definitively not good. It was a pity, such a waste because the quality of the beef and the presentation were excellent. BUT both the meat and the potato puree were overwhelmed by the taste of truffles. I mean the chef overloaded everything with truffle oil to the extend that the food was not pleasant at all. When it comes to truffles less is better. It is meant to provide an accent not the main flavor.
I am pretty sure the head chef was not working that day and some junior assistant made the preparations. This hotel in other ways is well managed.

Never before have I had beef Wellington, it was superb. The only restaurant on the island I’ve found to have chocolate soufflé. Started with the goat cheese salad and being a salad lover I feel confident in saying it is the best on the island. The cappuccino however, I wouldn’t order this here again. Everything else was amazing. Parking is a breeze with free valet, serene surroundings, a wonderful dimly lit, (but not too dark) patio on the water, volume level was pleasant and service unsurpassable.
There is also indoor dining if you’d prefer.

Very nice restaurant, good food and excellent service. We had both, lunch on the beach and dinner. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the choice of light dishes.

The staff was great and the food was excellent. The location on the water was beautiful. The restaurant and hotel have been completely rebuilt after the hurricane. Very little damage was visible. Recommend going while there is still daylight so you can see the view. Very romantic also. a little pricey but still good value. One bad, wine was very overpriced.

Exceptional. Service was outstanding and food was excellent. This new restaurant will have an outstanding future! We let them know we were celebrating an anniversary and they brought us champagne and treated us very special. We will definitely be going back

I really like the restaurant, the food was good, there were four of us dining. I even asked them to keep my half sandwich and bread in their fridge while I went to enjoy the pool. when I returned they had my sandwich, but said I could not have the bread that was on my table, I found this odd, as the waiter said I could have the bread that was left at our table that we did not eat. that was disappointing. overall was a nice experience.

Aux Amis is drop dead gorgeous and truly one of the most spectacular restaurants certainly on this island. I just wish the food lived up to the excellent service and setting. Unfortunately it did not . Fish over cooked, beef not up to snuff and a disappointment.

We went here for our "date night' and really enjoyed the Ambiance and the decor, it is beautiful, tastfully done and very polite staff.

I tried to order their "Signature Cocktail" Menage a trois, however, they were out of their homemade Green Tea Syrup so i had to select a different cocktail which was fine and and well made.

My wife and i did not find the menu very interesting (only one vegetarian option between the appetizers/entrees so she ordered some items from the Tapas menu and decided on the Tuffle Pizza, the mascarpone and truffle were nice the but the crust was very doughy and over worked so it was more like a heavy flat bread.

I ordered the Oxtail Beef Parmentier, and received a very well presented dish, however, the sauce/reduction was super salty so I had to just eat the potatoes and the beef in the middle without any of the sauce surrounding it.

Deserts we passed on as they didnt peak our interest.

Have had lunch there twice already on this trip. Will probably go back again before we leave for home. A great new restaurant and hotel on the island. Bravo.

Wonderfully located on the beach. Romantic , idilic setting. Service impeccable with a superb chef. The food tastes wonderful, imaginative touch without being too adventuorous. A definite place to go. Their dinner was magnificent add their Sunday brunch was one of the best I have had.

Fabulous evening with impeccable service, presenting incredible gastronomy, while we watched the moon rise over the hills shimmering light on bay. Everything we ate was outstanding. We will return.

Visited twice, once for lunch and then dinner. At dinner, the staff did not prepare one guest's meal, then when other meals were served, told her she would have to wait 20 minutes. Sacre bleu!
Limited menu and high prices.
They've only been open for 2 months, but need serious management oversight.

Our waiter was very attentive and top service. We had a windy day and that was a bit unnerving, once they drew the shutters and cut some of the wind that made quite a difference

A new restaurant on St. Barth in a stunningly beautiful hotel with a stunningly beautiful restaurant right next to the sea. Fantastic, personal service. The food (foie gras ravioli, crab "canneloni", mahi with sweet potatoes, etc.) was very well-prepared but a bit forgettable despite its aspirations. There's nothing I'd particularly want to have again (except for the "cube" desert, which was really great). With a bit of a rework of the menu (I'd go more local, less pretentious), this place would be truly outstanding food-wise (which at these prices it should be!). That said, you should not be deterred by this review -- go! It was a great experience. And I'd like to go back and try the more informal bar/tapas menu items. And I repeat: Fantastic service.

New to st barth, aux amis can be commended for making a great effort to shine in a difficult market. A big enterprise years in the making, this first season is bound to have its difficulties. While the dining room setting has a chilly 'miami 1999' vibe, that might be corrected just by better lighting. Service is flawless, with only the slightest indication of only a couple of months experience. The menu at dinner is the problem with a lack of clear identity; while the setting would suggest fine dining, one evening's choices of the top dishes left us very unsatisfied, however a subsequent night's pizzas were inspired. Lunches are the better bet with a lovely terrace and a better, more realistic, and better executed menu. We hope for the best, and great things in future seasons. Bonne chance.

Beautiful Restaurant in an idyllic setting. The views of the beach, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, the table settings, the umbrella's, everything was just serene and beautiful. We loved it and certainly will go back!
