LBV Steak and Pasta at Preque Isle Downs Ratings and Reviews
We were obviously an inconvenience. We had a reservation at 8 and showed up on time. Didn't get seated till 8:20. And the hostess said what can I do for you. Had no server till 8:45. Never had the candle lit at our table and our waiter asked if he was our sever? How would we know. There was a tray with dirty dishes next to us for just under 15 minutes then the manager took it away. Our waiter kept asking us " anything else" almost rude. We watched all other tables leave with a rose and a vase. We were never even offered. We left at 10:10 with a $135.00 bill. And weren't happy. However the steak and shrimp were great it was over shadowed by the extremely poor service. Last 3 years going there for Valentine's day were perfect. This year was the worst I've ever seen anywhere.
I have been there multiple times and have had great meals I had taken my wife there for Valentine’s Day and was greatly disappointed with the food in service. Previous times I have been there food was outstanding service was great I would hope on a special day as Valentine’s Day they will be on top of their game. I hope my next visit will be a much more enjoyable time
Always a great meal. Great servers, The pricing is very reasonable , we visit about once a week. The food is homemade , the pork chop is amazing good. I also enjoy the chicken parmigiana. The server Rachel is amazing knows what we drink and like to eat. She always goes above and beyond to make our dining experience wonderful. I highly recommend you checking out the LBV. Any issues , ask for Chris the manager he will make your visit a perfect night out.
Our server was fantastic and very accommodating. Great energy within the restaurant. I was disappointed in the meal, as my steak and brussel sprouts were a bit overcooked. Also, the wine list could use some love - it seemed extremely limited. But the company was fabulous so overall, we had a great time.
LBV Steak and Pasta is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants...well worth the drive to Erie from NE Ohio. Sangria is not on the menu, however the bartender did attempt to make me one. Other than that the food was outstanding! We each had the wedge salad which was perfect. My petite filet was perfectly cooked medium well and my husbands ribeye was perfectly cooked as well. I love the Oscar topping for the filet and it didn't disappoint. Besides the so/so sangria, the only thing that was disappointing to me was that they took the Creme Brulee off the menu. BIG bummer, but it is apparently available upstairs at the brewery restaurant.
Our food was phenomenal but unfortunately our service was quite poor. Our table wasn’t set properly (no candle or salt/pepper that was on all the other tables), we were never given bread, and we ended up sitting there with empty appetizer plates and empty glasses without anyone coming to check on us for quite some time. We had to ask another waiter to find our waitress so we could get drinks. The bread came after our main dishes came out only because we asked. Our waitress was nice but I think she was too busy taking care of a larger party in a different part of the restaurant. They did give us free dessert for the wait but I felt they could have done more for such poor service. I’m sure our experience isn’t the norm it was just pretty disappointing. I would still recommend as the food was top notch. Highly recommend the filet and tiramisu for dessert!
This was our fourth time at LBV. The food and service was excellent. We have enjoyed our meal every time we have gone. The portions allow for lunch or dinner the next day. A single order of loaded mashed potatoes were enough for both of us with leftovers. The wine list has a variety for everyone and reasonably priced. They are one of the few restaurants that have cream brûlée on the menu. We have an Erie Fine Dining card and it is always accepted without problems. I highly recommend.
Overall good experience. Expected to be a little pricey. Felt worth it. Service was fast. It was a little loud since we were sitting near the entrance. I looked at the menu online before reserving a table so understood the salads would be extra. I ordered the house salad and wife got the Ceasar. Presentation was well done. Bread was good. Came to the table warm with lots of butter. Request it plain if you don't already want it applied. My ribeye was cooked properly, however came with too much melted butter on it. It was very flavorful, but the extra butter overwhelmed the steak. I would ask for about half next time. This is only a minor complaint. As my side I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes. Very large serving, enough to split between two. Wife ordered a shrimp cocktail as appetizer. This was not a good deal in my opinion. Only came with 4 shrimp. Probably better choices on the menu. We each ordered one glass of house wine at $5 each. Most places we go that is $6 a glass. With a generous tip for the service we still came away with <$100 bill. Not bad for a special occasion.
I was there with my 3 aunts, we had the lobster tail (2), steak, and salmon. There was a problem with the lobster and loaded potatoes, baked potato being cold. The problem was resolved immediately. Also the crab meat entrée was small, not what we expected. Other than that all 4 of us enjoyed our dinner.
The busboy drenched the table in water and did not replace the tablecloth and the evening went downhill from there. Baked potato had to be sent back as it was ice cold and my brussels sprouts were hard in the center. The steaks were good, but the service was choppy, yet cheerful. A light was out in the fixture near my table and so it was comically dark. The restaurant was quite busy and I do not think they were prepared for it. One table visit from the Floor Manager would have set the whole night back on course, but he was nowhere to be seen. The service needs tuning and there's no excuse for the cold potato and under-cooked vegetables. I didn't have a bad evening, but it wasn't what I'd expect when spending almost $100.
Restaurant contained friendly and courteous staff. Very dark atmosphere. Server was excellent, however did not keep up on drinks aside from water, which I do not believe to be his fault, as he had to get them from bar. Only bottled beers served, no on tap or local beers. Mixed drink ordered (captain and coke) excellent. Appetizer, main course, and dessert were served in a timely fashion. Bread was honestly my favorite part of meal (it was that good!)Appetizer was pretty tasty, ordered fried raviolis. House salads good. The 59$ ribeye steak and 12 oz NY steak were excellent, side dishes were mediocre (brussel sprouts and asparagus, however I do not think the asparagus was properly prepped before cooking-ends were extremely chewy, impossible to eat). Chocolate covered cannoli was very good. Overall, not a bad place to eat if you are in Erie at the Casino. The friendly staff, especially the waiter, really made the restaurant a great experience.
The atmosphere is wonderful as the staff works together as 1 to provide you and your date the most relaxing ,the most intimate dining experience you would have at any Big City Steak House in the USA, I have had only a new steak houses in the USA that grill to perfection so every bite of food just melt in our mouth and everything thing you order from the appititetizer to the salad to the main course to dessert and still can't finish every bite until you get home and out know you are full and can't eat another bite, You are still craving the every last bite of food,
Yes it's that addictive.
The staff makes sure your dining experience is the best you have ever had, There is not one second of inexperience in this place to enjoy the full Ambiance and decor of one of Erie, Pennsylvania's finest Steakhouses.
Truley a Great Dining experience.
WE LOVE THE STEAKHOUSE AND THE FOOD IS GREAT BUT I CAN NOT SAY THE SAME FOR THE COCKTAILS. IN THE PAST I HAVE ORDERED A VODKA MARTINI,DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN MISS THAT ONE,BUT IT WAS SO BAD I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS AND I SENT IT BACK. SAD TO SAY, IT WAS MADE THE SAME WAY AGAIN.
LAST SAT NIGHT I ORDERED A ROB ROY WHICH WAS ON THE DRINK MENU. I DRINK THEM ALL THE TIME. THIS WAS WAY OFF. DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN HAVE SUCH WONDERFUL FOOD AND SUCH A BAD BAR. THE BAR UPSTAIRS IS GREAT. ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES MAKE WONDERFUL COCKTAILS. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT THANK YOU.
