   Lazia was more incredible than we could have ever dreamt! My fiancé and I ordered the hand-pulled Mozzerella (a must if you’re at all interested!), the fungi pizza to share, and each ordered a pasta or what they call Primi (small entree, from what I gathered). It was incredible! Everything was so tasty, and the service was great. It wasn’t busy I assume due to gross weather on a Tuesday night at 8:30… which was nice for our first experience. Cannot wait to return and try out the spring seasonal menu!!

   Our server Alex was exceptional. She knew the menu well, suitable wine pairings, etc. Don’t think of this as your typical Italian eats, but something quite different, but so awesome. Try the roasted chicken….WOW! The bill was $160 for two with one drink. Most dishes are made to be shared.

   The food was AMAZING! Our service was pretty good with the exception of one thing, getting a mixed drink. Getting wine and water was great, but I had ordered a second mixed drink and it took 30 minutes to get to us. The restaurant did offer to comp the drink, but we were leaving by the time they finally delivered it so we asked them to give it to another table. Hopefully this is a one off situation and as I said the food was AMAZING. We will be back to give it a try again.

   We started with a complimentary shot of the "house" aperitif, which was nice. A little sweet, but still pleasant. We started with the fondue with pita bread. It was absolutely supreme flavor and texture. We ordered a bottle of prosecco so the match was very nice. Next, we ordered the tableside mozzarella. The presentation was pleasant, but not real energetic. Not sure why she flattened the mozzarella. The salad was a great attempt at new fun and exciting. Just way too many flavors and textures going on in that dish. It completely took away from the mozzarella. They could calm that down and it would be devine. Next the arancini with chili sauce, that dish was also a nice presentation and a treat to eat. Next the wheat tonnarelli which also confused me. It was just ok, again, too much going on and I can not quit put my finger on "the why" that did not work for us. Next the cannelloni with rabbit. So, I personally was excited about trying this dish, but it truly was way way too sweet. The sauce on the bottom just overwhelmed the taste of the rabbit. I did take that dish home, got rid of sauce and it was much better without it. No time for dessert. The waiter Davey was quit pleasant and extremely informed and educated on the menu items He was professional and had a nice sense of humor. Having key folks in place is always a plus. The atmosphere was elegant, the table setting as well. The music (even though we were informed was a tradition of the owner) was way too loud. Very difficult to hold a conversation over loud rap music. That really ruined the experience overall for us. If I were in my 20"s, it would of been acceptable. Overall, there are so many outstanding restaurants in KC that are the across the board top notch, without these small but significant tolerances.

   The food and service was spectacular but its very overpriced. I had an espresso martini they charged $15 for that was basically in a shot glass, just don’t understand why they can be so overpriced but not give you portions to match. Also we had reservations - no one was in the restaurant and they sat us in this small two person table out in the middle of the floor. I asked if we could sit in a more cozy spot and he said the tables were for people with reservations- i said WE have reservations. We asked to move to a more comfortable table, they did move us, but not overly cheerful about it. I would recommend to a friend if their money was backing up and they needed to somewhere to spend their money frivolously.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't find the value in your cocktail; we do utilize higher quality ingredients in our signature cocktails that lend to a higher menu price and while our glassware is more petite in sizing, our cocktails are standard pour sizes. We apologize for the confusion with your seating, it seems the intention of the host was to convey that typically the table we move you to is reserved for larger parties, but was not properly worded.

   Thanks So much for hosting my date and I for an exquisite evening. We enjoyed the malvendine and the pork-shoulder immensely. Mira our server was delightfully kind. After our meal we briefly enjoyed a drink in the bar area before heading out, cozy in a booth. We will absolutely return again. 🔥 🔥 🔥

    We were told the live mozzarella was going to be made in the kitchen so didn’t order it. A new table was sat and they ordered it and it was done tableside - the server said the woman who did the mozzarella changed and was able to do it tableside. We also ordered too much food based on the waiter’s recommendation and ended up taking the two main entrees home.

    The whole concept of the menu was incredibly confusing. Not only that but once we ordered the amount of dishes the waitress recommended, the portions were laughable. The sauce on one of my dishes tasted like spaghetti o’s-not appetizing. My group had to go get a second meal afterwards. Overall just a bad experience and not worth the money.

    Jennifer was an amazing host + waitress. The ambiance was perfect, the food was outstanding, and the drinks/cocktails were absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back and eat here - such a gorgeous staple in the Crossroads Art District.

    Incredible vibe, we received a complimentary apartif during our short wait for our table, knowledgeable server and incredible food through our courses. Had many vegetarian options for my wife as well. Thoughtful wine list, we will be back!!!

    Great atmosphere and service, drinks were good. Lighting was terrible, but our server did point out its one of only a couple tables to had such lighting, making it hard to read tiny print on menu. The food was NOT good. We tried several things, fresh mozzarella salad, and 3 more items that were recommended from server. We definitely will not be back to eat-we didn’t enjoy any of it (which is very unusual for us-we eat everything!)

    Great service and fun vibe. Food was great but not mind blowing. Definitely will be back. 4 Stars due to food being not as incredible as I was told. Drinks were fantastic. Waiter was wonderful. I made these reservations 2 months ago and told them it was a very special occasion. We were seated against the wall by a curtain next to a busy walk way at a tiny table. Other tables for 2 went unseated while we were there and would have been nice for the hostess not to tuck us away in the worst area. I will give this place another try though!

    Can’t recommend Lazia highly enough! Although they have great descriptions of their menu items, it isn’t until you taste these beautifully complex dishes that they really come alive. Don’t miss Camille’s hand-pulled mozzarella!

    Our first experience at Lazia was superb. From the cuisine - the hand pulled mozzarella with assorted chicory, roasted squash and pickled huckleberries was phenomenal - to the service - our server Debbi was so knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent wine recommendations. We look forward to dining at Lazia again.

    The food was good, but portions on the restaurant week tasting menu were very small -- we left still hungry. And the wine pairing was only 3 pairs for 4 dishes, and pretty small pours for each one; that would make sense for a 7-course menu, but for a 4-course, it felt ungenerous. Overall, I was glad to have gone but will choose another restaurant next time.

    My daughter, her boyfriend and I went to Lazia for KC restaurant week. We have been there before but the food is always amazing. Lazia has a great selection of reasonably priced wines. They Arancini and the pork shoulder are incredible.
