   Want an afternoon tea with a difference? Try Layla's new offering. Sandwiches with unusual and tasty fillings, the best and lightest scones I have ever sampled and the most delightful little original pastries. Add to this a good choice of teas and a Bellini to kick it all off and you have a delightful afternoon. The service was friendly and attentive and my only criticism was the price. It certainly isn't cheap at £26.50 per head (£36.50 if you have a champagne tea) but we were led to understand that they are looking to offer larger group discounts and possibly a slightly cheaper non - alcohol version. We really enjoyed our afternoon and feel that Layla's afternoon tea is worth a visit.

   My friend and I dined at 7pm. The service was very good and food delicious. Portions slightly on the small side. The restaurant was very busy but service did not suffer as a result. My one negative comment is the music which seemed to get louder as the evening progressed. My friend and I found it difficult to hear each other and so I think this venue suits a younger crowd particularly as there is a bar at the front.

   Lamb and cocktails were fabulous! A great Friday night out. Will definitely return.

   I chose this restaurant on recommendation from another friend for its cocktail bar, I decided to have dinner there too as it was my birthday. I couldn't have been happier with my decision, they were quite simply amazing. The staff were attentive, friendly and checked in on us throughout the meal, but without becoming intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious and the choice of vegetarian and meat dishes was great! Overall they completed a very special birthday for me.

   I had previously been to Layla restaurant with a good experience on Saturday 26th September I recommended that I take a friend to your restaurant who used cook Lebanese food cuisine,I think you have changed the menu,the first course was fine but I think the main course was nothing more an attempt to create Lebanese cooking but did not achieve it's aim, sorry but I don't think it was value for money

   Service started well but drifted off to non existent as the restaurant got busy and they didn't spot mistakes from the kitchen ie missing dishes etc. Would have ordered more drink more if had been asked. Confused mis-sold starters disappointed from the start and left us hungry as were way too small to be sharing as advertised and way to expensive for what they turned out in front of us. Mains were generally good but failed to excite anyone. Could have been great. Maybe next time if i dare risk it but couldn't recommend to anyone until they get a firm grip.

   They have recently changed the portion sizes to be much smaller but kept prices the same which is a shame. I used to love this restaurant but it doesn't seem good value for money with the smaller portion sizes. That said - the mezze and the main courses are all delicious.

   Esher has the best restaurants in the wider area. Our first time at Layla proved that it conpetes with the best in town. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends. Layla made us rediscover how epic Lebanese food culture is.

   My partner and I both ordered the muscles to start- different than expected- and we're absolutely amazing. Very tender and came with a lovely chilli and garlic sauce, I've never tasted anything like it, it was so so good! For my main I order fish of the day- which was talapia- this came on a bed of Mediterranean mixed veg rice. The talapia I felt was over cooked and dry as anything, the only thing that made it edible was the sauce on top of it. The rice however was my favourite, the saving grace! The reason I didn't send the dish back! My partner ordered the chicken skewers which he said were tender and very well flavoured. I also ordered a pineapple sunrise (non alcoholic cocktail) which was to die for too! Service for drinks were a little slow, we were often sat with empty drinks while the waitress was bringing/ taking away our plates which I thought was a bit annoying. The desert menu is very minimal, nothing took my fancy, which was a shame as I really fancied having something sweet! Our bill was £82 altogether, the average amount that we'd spend on a meal out. I don't feel it was worth £82 in all honesty I would expect a slightly higher standard of food and service for the amount we paid.

    The decor was fantastic and we have wanted to try the restaurant for some time. However it was utterly disappointing. The menu is limited in comparison to normal Lebanese restaurants. The food wasn't particularly tasty and was very overpriced for the portion size. We went on a day where there must have been something happening at the race course nearby as it was very busy in the lounge/bar. But that meant that the service in the restaurant was almost non existent. We had to ask for our drinks 3 times and the salad arrived a while after the rest do the food, again because we had to ask. Had high hopes for this restaurant but won't be visiting again.
