Not satisfied with this restaurant experience! I want to ask for nice seating section to take some nice pictures for social media and got rejected because is for larger group which I understand, but there is not that many people in restaurants and it’s pretty slow at that time. Also, food portions are small and pretty pricey for that small portion of food!
Terrible food, service, and prices. Our dinner came on top of our appetizers with nothing tasting well, not even the most basic salad. In addition, the smoke from the fire lit cheese dish that other tables ordered was floating over to our table and became nauseating. Save your time and money.
I have been to Layla for lunch, Sunday brunch and dinner several times, and the experience never disappoints! The staff is attentive, genuine and helpful. Our server Jonas was amazing! We each had a couple glasses of the Cabernet Sauvignon as we sat on the terrace because it was so lovely out. We shared the fattoush salad (recommended by Jonas), grilled octopus and cauliflower. All delicious, filling, fresh and not too heavy (which can be a downfall for Mediterranean food sometimes). As my friend remarked, “You can tell it’s all made with love”. The crowd and ambiance were gorgeous as always. After dinner we went up to rooftop for a fabulous Poetry Night event - there’s nothing like it in South Beach! And they do it every month.
Honestly the location is beautiful but the food was so incredibly bland for having so many spices.
The restaurant and ambiance are cute. came here for date night and it was a good choice for that type of scenario its quiet and romantic. pros and cons!
1- the service was great. everyone is super nice and attentive. the staff really were so amazing. i would say they make this place.
2- the food was yummy! every dish we ordered was tasty.
There were a couple of things that turned me off:
1- every single dish we ordered came out in the first 15 minutes of us being there. We didnt even have our cocktails yet. and i hate when EVERYTHING comes out at once. i mean they clearly didnt even cook the chicken there wasnt enough time so i guess it was pre made. i personally cant stand this type of situation. it needs to be timed better/slower. it makes you feel like they want you to leave asap.
2- the prices are outrageous for what this place is. its a small little cozy restaurant. nothign fancy. We each had 2 drinks and about 4 items from the menu we had salad, chicken, octupus and muhammara and paid $230. for the same price, you can go to a fancy restaurant like Carbone. i dont think this place should be priced the same as a super fancy place.
for these 2 reasons, i wouldnt come back nor would i recommend.
Discovered this Miami Beach gem on a referral from a friend. Service was timely and quick; food was delicious and well prepared. Cocktails were cleverly presented. Outside area is lovely (by waterway) but bring your mosquito spray! Inside floors covered with Turkish rugs. Decor is upscale and understated. Prices were in line with other Miami restaurants and food was plentiful for the dollar spent.
The food was pretty good but the portions were waaay too small for those prices.
Out of this world experience. Everything was excellent. Beautifully designed. Seating is spaced very well for private conversation. Music is ambient. Hard to chose what not to get on a varied menu. The food was outstanding. Servers were friendly and efficient. Highly recommended Layla
I love middleastern food so this was delish. Outdoor area is exquisite. Highly recommend
Everything was spot on- food, decor, service and vibe. Music was a little loud inside but once mentioned it was addressed and speakers shifted. DJ was great as well. Been for dinner and brunch and both outstanding fresh food
Dining here for our first time was most enjoyable. My husband and our couple friends liked the interiors and the corner round table I requested. Our waiter, Jonas, was very attentive and gave us good recommendations. We all decide to try their Miami Spice dinner menu since it was the last night it was offered. The cocktails and wine we ordered was welcoming. The Babagnoush, mushroom medley & tabouleh salad as our starters were all well seasoned. The main entrees grilled chicken & lamb was also generously portioned, tender and flavorful. For dessert we had the baklava and date nut pudding, both rather too sweet and generously portioned as well. Overall we really liked Layla and plan to return.
The food was very good and the service was very good also.
Really great restaurant, food was delicious!
Food was great the drinks not so much. I don’t think the bartender knew how to make a drink.
The venue is very nice and the food was good!
We returned for the first time since opening week (which was an excellent experience) and were a bit disappointed. It did not live up to the original experience unfortunately. I don’t think we will be returning. Last night’s dinner was mediocre at best. Hopefully this former gem returns to its original standards.
I was not prepared for how good the food was going to be. They were traditional dishes like falafel & lamb but the things that accompanied it and blended the flavors were amazing. The dipping tahini sauce was so good and spicy. The lamb was the best lamb I have ever had so tender it was falling apart with that tart from the sauce and feta. It was food I dream about later.
The ambiance and the staff is really nice as well.
The food and drinks are delicious and the setting was very nice. Not typical South Beach. Worth it!
Very pretty setting both inside and outside by the canal. Very good drinks. The flaming saganaki was so good we ordered 2.
Amazing food. Lamb is to die for.
I Love this place
Service is exceptional, the entire menu is amazing. Enjoyed every bite. Cocktails are delicious!
Very cozy, nice ambiance. They have a very extensive selection of Mediterranean dishes. The food is delicious. A lot of vegetarian options as well. Our server was very nice and attentive. The only bad note is that one of my friends wanted to pay cash but we were informed that the restaurant doesn't accept cash.
We were very disappointed about this. She had to use her CC when she was not planning to do so. I hope they will reconsider their payment options and allow cash payments in the future.
I Iove this place ! Food was amazing! Katie was outstanding! Best service ever !
Such a beautiful restaurant! We could not get over the ambience and the whole vibe. The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal! Loved the experience, I already recommended this place to some friends!
Great little hidden gem and you can have a nightcap at their rooftop!
My friend and I loved everything about this place. we dined in the garden, at a high-top table overlooking the canal, which reminded both of us of the "Jungle Cruise" ride at Walt Disney World -- in a good way! The decor is beautiful, the food absolutely delicious, and some of the best, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and utterly perfect service we have ever had! We both LOVED our waitress, Felecia, a remarkable young woman who knew everything there was to know about the menu and did a beautiful job balancing chatting with us (we kept engaging her in conversation because she was so lovely) and allowing us to have our privacy. The pace of the service was perfect -- another hard balance to strike, bringing the courses out promptly without making the guests feel rushed. Do yourself a favor and check out the garden of this gem for a truly wonderful experience!
Amazing!! The food, ambiance, decor, and service was absolutely perfect.
I came here for dinner to celebrate my birthday week! The chef is incredibly creative. We had a mix of small plates, the branzino (which was incredible), and a show stopping dessert of avo chocolate mousse, baklava and tea. The ambiance is gorgeous, very sensual. And the lobby with the bar is a perfect intimate setting to hang out. We loved it!
None of the staff were wearing masks and the manager explained they were all vaccinated. However, we all know now that even if you are vaccinated you can transmit the virus... Not only that but they are standing and talking to us sitting down which most likely are throwing the airy saliva droplets on us... and definitely not with social distance... very uncomfortable, even though we were all vaccinated. I have family that died after vaccinated with AstraZeneca... It doesn't matter, we should ALL continue to be careful especially in public places.
Food was awesome, waitress was not very knowledgeable on the menu items but other wait staff was very friendly! From the indoor dining room to the outdoor seating area, the decor was gorgeous! Would come back and try their rooftop.
It was a great experience! The food was great. Great service !!!
The food was absolutely perfect. Best falafel ever! Very light and tasty. Lamb, chicken, octopus all perfectly prepared. Amazing flavors in the roasted cauliflower. The service was polite and professional. Really enhanced the meal. Our entire family enjoyed the meal.
While the appetizers and cocktails were great, our server Victoria was wonderful but the trainee ruined our dining experience. My husband and I were on our “date night” and a trainee named Tom would not leave us alone. He stood by our table and spoke much of our dinner. We decided to leave to order entrees somewhere else so we could enjoy each others company. Whoever this guy is, you need to get rid of him ASAP. He was taking pictures with guests, writing everyone’s names down and telling us his life story. Had to scan through Instagram photos of he and his girlfriend and hear about his new investment opportunity. It was awful…. Won’t be back for fear or having another fine meal ruined
Great service and the fish was amazing! Highly recommend their margaritas too
Had a great time at Layla! Service was outstanding and the food was even better. Highly recommend Layla if you are in the South Beach area.
Loved it! One of a kind layout with great food. Definitely recommend
