Everything was great. Prime Rib was perfect ly medium rare and service was superb.
As always- excellent service and outstanding food!
Went to Lawry’s for our anniversary and really enjoyed the experience. Had drinks at the bar before going to an outstanding meal and service!
Every 2-3 years we come to Chicago we put Lawry's on or must do list. It is always remembered by our kids since we first did this when they were teenagers.
Service was a little slow, I think we had a new server
Location was perfect. The food was perfect. The staff was exceptional and I enjoyed my first experience at Lawry’s. I plan to do it again real soon!
Great experience! Food was seasoned to perfection!
We love going to Lawry’s for anniversaries, birthdays, etc etc. and I’ve experienced nothing but the best from food to service. We went for our 13th Anniversary, and I can honestly say this was the worst experience. The meat was incredibly chewy and undercooked, my wife’s creamed spinach was cold and bland and the drinks were mediocre at best. Talk about surprised! The only saving grace was a decent waitress. I sincerely hope this was a one time occurrence as we would be so disappointed if we had to find a new prime rib / steak house / supper club to dine at.
An exceptionally good meal!
Love the Lawry’s in Beverly Hills. Unfortunately the food was not the same high quality here. Prime rib was tough and lobster tails were mushy
We brought our mother there to celebrate her 96th birthday. I think all of the stairs she had to climb wore her out: entrance, to bar for her to sit in a low chair, stairs to get to our table. In addition she had to navigate all these stairs to go to the bathroom & then again to leave. Also, the music volume was very loud. I asked for the volume to be lowered which was done for about 10-15 min & then someone increased the volume again. Outstanding food & service!!
Delicious prime rib and sides. Raspberry trifle dessert very good also. Shout out to waitress, Ms. Parent, Albert the prime rib cart server and the other servers. A very nice experience!
What a wonderful old school restaurant ... as good as the prime rib was ( and it was good ) the service was terrific , the wait staff couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive , I wasn’t feeling well and it was the care they displayed that helped me through ... can’t wait to go back again
Classic old fashioned steakhouse with prime rib served only the way they can. Very attentive staff. My cut of prime rib however was an irregular thickness and relatively fatty and full of fibrous tissue. I see this comment made occasionally. I realize not every piece will be perfect but I wonder if they are getting the best beef.
We were in Chicago for the Chicago Marathon and wanted a steak dinner. Lawry’s was highly recommended by friends who live in Chicago. The food , service, and ambiance were top notch, and we had an amazing experience. The restaurant is gorgeous and just what we were looking for with the prime rib! We will be back!
The one thing that bothered me was how LAX the dress code has become..."Business casual" does NOT mean jeans and a hoodie is acceptable! Its quite a contradiction to sit down to a fairly expensive meal next to people who look like they just came from a rock concert!
Our party of 4 all had the Lawry’s Cut Prime Rib Dinner. Everything was spot on. Tender, juicy perfect cooked Prime rib along with Spinning Bowl Salad, Mashed Potatoes with gravy and Yorkshire Pudding.
Lobster Bisque was spectacular and loaded with Lobster. Our server Jeff was knowledgeable and personable and made our evening a special experience.

Perfect as always❤️
I’ve been here many times, this time was lacking the excellent service that is normally felt.
The food was fabulous the service was exceptional and we had a great evening
Our waitress was amazing. She took very good care of us and was pleasant to have with us.
A Chicago classic that will always be on my list.
Great food and service was wonderful. Nice dinner. Martini 👍👍
It pains me to write this review because Lawry's is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. We dined early on Sunday evening after a Broadway in Chicago matinee. We were seated promptly and waited a long time for menus, water and bread. The Yorkshire pudding, which usually comes after the beef is carved, was brought to the table early and was cold when the beef arrived. My husband's and son's beef was good, but mine was overcooked and gristly. No one came to the table to check on us, so I continued to try to eat it, hoping it would get better. It did not. So disappointing. They did comp my entrée but I would have much rather had the delicious prime rib I've come to expect from Lawry's. I'm hopeful this was just an off night. We'll give them another chance.
Always great food! Service was a little off, we’ve been coming to Lawry’s for 30 years!
The quality of the beef was not prime. Too many white tendons to cut around. Otherwise, a fine dinner for my retirement party.
Steaks extremely good. Service also very nice . Very well recomended
Food and service were good. Prime rib, too. I’d recommend a visit to this classic Chicago restaurant.
Everything was great. Particularly impressed with our waiter, Mr. Rice.
Simply amazing prime rib..sliced table side. Always fantastic service. The recommended Old Fashion was awesome!!!
My wife and I have been dining at Lawry's for the past twenty five years. Always a special meal and the entire staff makes sure you want for nothing. Thank you again Lawry's for assisting me in celebrating my wife's birthday!!
Service was excellent. Got the Lawry’s cut and it was so tough. There were 4 of us and we had a time constraint so we didn’t ask for another cut of meat. We have been coming for 25 years so it was a bit disappointing.
Great food and terrific service from Ms Kliver
Disappointed! We were celebrating a special occasion and we were looking forward to a great evening. The hostess told us to wait in the bar for a moment to be seated. 20 minutes later we went to check and she says you were already seated. News to us. We waited another 30 minutes for someone to take our order. We were just about to get up and leave. We should have because the food was just ok.
This was my third visit after several years, and the prime rib and the food in general was no longer to the standards of what this place used to be. The quality of the meat was not to the level of this place. Very disappointed.
Great food and a great time. True Chicago icon. Prime rib was tremendous
The service was excellent from the time we valet parked to check, in to seating, ordering, presentation of our meal, appropriate follow up during our dining to departure and the return of our vehicle. Thank you for a pleasant and enjoyable evening and anniversary celebration.
Upon arriving they had computer issues with their reservation system so we went to have a drink in the bar. The bar which is in the lobby was blasting 80s music which was competing with the 50-60s music playing in the restaurant. It was very distracting. The servers in the bar were slow and dressed sloppy. It was almost if the bar was separate from the restaurant. After waiting for a period of time I checked with the host who had forgotten I had been there once. They were disorganized. There was no system to have guests wait for tables. The host walked through the lobby/bar shouting out last names of guests whose table was ready. Again it was very distracting.
Dinner was mediocre as was the service. I had been to the Lawrys in Las Vegas and the service was amazing much more personal and thoughful. The server had too many tables and couldn’t take time to provide service he probably would have wanted to.
The food was okay. I have never been served prime rib with a bone in it before.
Overall I was pretty disappointed by the whole experience.
