Consistently good food and service in a vibrant setting. It is actually difficult to make quality, yet simple Italian cuisine but Lavo makes it happen. You can taste the quality in every bite. It's my go-to for business lunches or dinners, brunch, happy hour or even a quick lunch with their fantastic prix fixe.
Reservation was at 8:30pm for two, we didn’t get seated until 10:00pm. Unacceptable.
Food is consistently good. And the staff is very friendly and professional.
Average food. Noisy. Service good
Out of Towners. Lots of tourists
Great lunch options. Really good salads, grilled Branzino and pre-fixe lunch menu
Absolutely love the seafood pasta. Great drinks and lively bar scene. The service is very professional and runs like a well oiled machine.
I noted when I made the reservation it was my fiancé’s birthday. We finish dinner. They clear table and I am immediately handed the check. Was not asked if we wanted dessert. They did not mention my request for a little something to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. I had to ask for the dessert menu and tell them it’s her birthday. A little disappointed they didn’t read the notes I wrote when I booked reservation.
Lavo is great. The music can be pretty loud so don’t expect to have a deep conversation. The server was super friendly and accommodating. The food was pretty good, very flavorful.
I have been to this restaurant 3x now after this visit. I like the vibe of the place and the food is really good. The giant meatball is a must! It is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. You can share this with 4 people...it's 16 oz. I also ordered a Caesar salad...it was just meh. I've had much better for a lot less. For our entrees, we had the Lobster Fra Diavolo, the bone in rib-eye, the red snapper and the brick oven salmon with a side of truffle fries which were AMAZING and a side of brocoli rabe which was very mushy. The pasta dish was cooked perfectly and I would recommend getting pasta but be warned the portions were HUGE. You could feed 2 - 4 people. The snapper was good but had some bones but outside of that delicious along with the garlic mashed potatoes which were also very good. The rib eye had great flavor. The first waitress we had was amazing I wish I could remember her name. We were seated near the back of the restaurant and had to move because we ended up having 2 more guests arrive. I was ok with moving since we not only moved in closer to the dining area but moved from a table of about 30 13 year olds. There were a lot of teens there for a Friday night at 9pm. Our second waitress was fine but not as attentive. Overall, I enjoyed the place and the food and would go back. Maybe one day I'll stay awake long enough to go go the nightclub. :)
Went to Lavo for a business lunch. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and went home full and happy.
I asked for a quiet area and we were seated at a table in the corner. We ordered from the prix fixe menu and we all enjoyed our meals.
Service was excellent.
I do pleased to know about this restaurant and I’m looking forward to coming back.
Good food but overpriced
Inattentive service except for the maitre D who saved the night
We ll much rather go back across the street to Tao’s, which is flawless
Enjoyable, pleasant ambiance for early dinner with good food And attendant waitstaff
Went here for my birthday. Tables are close together. Not a lot of privacy.Nice birthday celebration with cake and staff singing and lights flashing low to high.
I went to Lavo with three friends to celebrate my birthday this past Saturday evening. I have been before for lunch and thought it would be a fun night out.
Perhaps it was because we are only 18 and a younger crowd than they wanted on a Saturday night but we were rushed through our evening and meal from the moment we arrived. Appetizer to entree we were in and out in well under an hour. My hand was still in the plate of fries when it was whisked away. We had indicated the reservation was for a celebration when we booked but no one came to inquire about it. The food was great but overall not the special birthday dinner I had expected it to be.
A very pedestrian Italian restaurant. Felt like a chain. Very loud and crowded. Food was decent but nothing special. There are multitudes of better Italian restaurants in New York.
Started playing music really loudly at 8:30 in what was already a noisy environment
It was awesome! I had a friend visit Lavo for the first time and she really enjoyed it
I’ve been to Lavo before the restaurant and had a nice experience. I was disappointed to go back and have the hostes being really rude to my friends and I because she couldn’t find my reservation. I made the reservations through the open table app, so I had my confirmation when I went up to her and showed her proof. Still she went ahead and told my friends and I she didn’t have a table for us and we had to wait at least 45mins. This was crazy! I don’t think I will be coming back to this establishment.
We love Lavo but when you have 15 12 year old girls swarming your table and not knowing or caring you even exist-it’s not as comforting.. the kids felt they could take over the periffery of the area... I was with my 13 year old daughter and she too thought the girls were obnoxious! This resulting in terrible service for us!!
Please improve the arrival experience. The hostesses did not provide a good welcoming, either answered our questions about the timing to get our table ready.
However, the waiter gave us an excellent experience, and we enjoyed our visit.
Fantastic restaurant! Good times and fun, but don't go if you'd like to have a conversation because the music is good, but loud. This is one of my favorites!!!
Consistently excellent service and food. great atmosphere. always something to please any guest.
It was good.
The hostess was absolutely rude and intentionally difficult. If you like that sort of welcome, you can then have food that can also be had in many places within walking distance.
Hostess was a little rude, and the server wasn’t very attentive. Left empty dishes and glasses on out table for a long time before cleaning. The music was good, food was great and a good mix of people.
Service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious!
It was a great experience loved the music
Food is great but service was indifferent and they were loaded with huge tables of 15-20including small kids which created unbearable noise and people bumping into my chair all night.
Great dining experience! I am already planning my return
Food was just ok. Great spot for people watching
Thankfully our table was not intertwined with the two very large parties in the main dining room, but it was very chaotic for the staff who were unable to adequately service our wobbling table in a timely fashion. The pizza was excellent, but the sea bass was very fishy and undercooked. The staff kept forgetting stuff and then the main course arrived while we were eating the appetizer. We waited forever for the check which they came to collect our cc for before bringing. Other than it not being one of Lavo's better showings, there were highlights.
Amazing food, unbelievable service, super expensive, very loud atmosphere.
Dinner was delicious‼️‼️ best salmon I have had.
After waiting more than 30 minutes on a Tuesday night, in a room so loud that we had to scream in each other’s ears to be heard, we left to another restaurant.
Will not return.
Great spot for good Italian food. We had the truffle gnocchi and seafood penne. Both were very delicious. Definitely will go again.
Excellent meal and atmosphere. We had a charcuterie board and then shared some Brussels sprouts and asparagus along with one order of spaghetti and the 1lb meatball. More than enough and delicious. It's dimly lit, with popular music playing rather loudly, it's not a destination for a quiet dinner. We enjoyed the ambiance.
Food was good
