Lavo Ratings and Reviews
Excellent experience. The food was amazing! When they recommend the meatball, it's no joke! Really really good. But be careful how much you eat, I could barely eat my carbonara entree, which was excellent as well. We had no room for dessert, but some of them sounded delicious! Would definitely go back!
My husband and I have dined at a multitude of fine dining restaurants, and we, of course, expect a better experience for the price paid. The food at LAVO was good/decent ... the bread was a tad bit stale but otherwise no major complaints. The main issue was with the service. Again, these complaints are in regards to the expected standard of a finer dining restaurant. Our waiter forgot to bring my husband’s drink (no big deal... we are all humans) but then proceeded to also forgot to bring my salad which I never got and was not too keen on delievering a good apology... so all in all, the service/food did not match the price. The ambiance was really nice, however ... great outdoor patio area.
We visit your restaurant at least twice a year for the last two years and I have to say this visit was the most disappointing. I hope this was just a bad night for this fine institution. Because we really enjoy the food here. But this night left a bad taste in our mouth. Not sure if we will return
Our food was great and the service was good, too. We were celebrating both our anniversary and a birthday, which we noted on the reservation, but neither were acknowledged by any servers or the manager. Maybe an oversight, or maybe the Vegas Strip restaurants no longer recognize special occasions.
Dinner at Lavo was wonderful. Our server was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable and paced the meal perfectly. She had great recommendations for us as it was our first time dining there. The meatball was excellent, as well as the beet salad. Perfection. For dinner we each had a pasta dish, mainly because we were so full from the apps and the lovely garlic bread that comes when you first sit down. Will definitely be back for the sea bass and for another meatball!
My husband and I chose Lavo for as our date night place. It was swanky. The decor was really cool and the lighting was dim. Our waiter was prompt and offered suggestions. The food was top notch! We both chose penne alla vodka. It was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend Lavo as your special occasion place.
The food was good (not great) but the service felt very rushed. They brought the apps out within 5 minutes of ordering. They brought the entrees out when we were still eating the apps (who does that at this price level)? Then they left the (covered) entrees on a tray for 5 minutes next to the table until we finished the apps and cleared the table. There were 6 of us looking to enjoy a leisurely 3 course dinner, and we were done in an 1 and 15 minutes.
I had a 7pm reservation and arrived to a closed restaurant with dozens of customers waiting outside and security guarding the doors. Staff decided to fix the delay by serving bread, app and dinner all on top of each other. Gave the impression that they wanted you out. I will not return.
Don’t bother making a reservation , they cannot seem to accommodate your time slot . Even when they are behind they are still listed on open table with available time slots ! The food was not worth the money , nothing special . Atmosphere is nice , our server was very good, but the food was OK. They are a very touristy Italian resteraunt, nothing authentic in my opinion.
We were in Las Vegas to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday and we booked a table at Lavo following a recommendation. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, the waiter was knowledgeable about the dishes available and the food was amazing. However, half way through our meal there was a constant flow of waiters going back & forth past our table, bumping into us whilst carrying chairs over our heads in order to set up a much larger table to accommodate another booking. As we were there to celebrate a 40th birthday, this kind of activity somewhat ruined our dining experience at Lavo - which was extremely disappointing!
I saw this Restaurant on Guy Fieri's Diner Drive-ins and Dives for their huge strawberry shortcake. When we got ours it was not the huge one we thought we were getting. It was the individual size one. We were told they only make the big one for special people or occasions (We felt very un-unimportant). However, the dinner was good. My wife and I had the spaghetti marinara.
We had a reservation for 8 at 8:30. Our guest consisted of very senior level executives from Fortune 500 companies. With reservations we waited for and hour and 10 mins to be sat. After 45min standing outside as there is no waiting area, when I addressed the wait they did offer to but my group a round of drinks. Roughly 30 min later we were sat at an incredibly small (for 8 men) round table squished in the center of the room. I was the only female so I sat in a chair in which once in I was unable to get out or move as my chair and the chair behind me were touching. The server was very nice and attentive and the food was good but the overall experience certainly lacked Vegas is a place with fantastic food and many options so service matters.
Rene was our server and was warm welcoming and completely attentive.... a true professional and an asset to LAVO. The food was out of this world... party of three... Started with meatball with ricotta outstanding! One was plenty for the table. I had the veal milanese with arugula salad. Perfection! Other party had pasta dishes to die for. Look forward to next visit.
I got the spaghetti and meatballs which was excellent but my guest didn't enjoy his Cavatelli Bolognese, the bolognese has chunks of raw vegetables that were supposed to be pureed. He also ordered coffee the end of dinner which was extremely old and bitter. But the view was nice and our waiter was wonderful.
My wife and I had a tasty meal prior to a show next door at the Wynn. We got there at 7 and were promptly seated and greeted with menus and water and the waiter introduced himself. We placed our order for a couple of mains (sea bass and spaghetti with wagu meatballs) and a nice Pinot Noir . Our waiter brought our wine quickly and we settled in. They then brought us a complimentary antipasto dish and some garlic bread bites with a tasty marinara sauce. So far so good. One minute later our mains arrived and we set aside our appetizers. Rushed much? The waiter and water boy were very attentive and friendly, regularly filling our wine and water glasses. We both enjoyed our dishes but both felt the whole meal was rushed. We declined dessert and finished our wine. Overall we were in and out in about 40 minutes. If you want a quick meal, you can get it here. If you want a slow, romantic evening, find another place. The noise level is high as well.
