Lavo Ratings and Reviews
We were attending IMEXThe 'hostesses/greeters' couldn't of cared less if we were there or notWe had to ask several times for paremesan cheese and pepper. (we all were having pasta)Price vs satisfaction very lowWent to Morels (next doot) the next night --that was a good move
had to wait an hour for our table when we had a reservation for weeks. we were given 2 rounds of drink comps at the bar while we waited (to some this may sound like a good idea, but when your starving drinking on an empty stomach isnt the best idea, an appetizer while waiting would have been the brighter idea.)
The fare and service were excellent. The major detractor to the dining experience is the seating. The tables are so close together it is hard to not only to have a private conversation, but it's hard to hear what your dining partner has to say. The tables are also in long rows that make it feel like you're sitting in a soup kitchen. There is no noise separator between the bar and the main dining area that the noise also carries over from the bar and the common area of the casino just outside the restaurant.
Great food, exellent service, very accomodating. Was there for dinner (7:30 P.M.) and the dinning area was not as well lit as I would have liked. The place was full of people and was very loud making it difficult to carry on a conversation with the people at the table. Our table had 8 people.
We had a large group of eight but were still able to sit outside. Sitting outside is a must because you can catch a couple pirate shows happening right across the street at Treasure Island. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. Our waiter was horrible and acted like he just wanted to leave. He did the bare minimum and sometimes not even that. Pretty disappointing for all the people in our group.
The outdoor seating was lovely. The food and drinks were very good. Our waiter, Gil, was the perfect level of attentive as we never waited for things we wanted/needed, but he was not invasive. Our dinner was to celebrate my Mom's sixtieth birthday and she had a fabulous evening.
Overall our experience was pretty poor. We ordered 4 appetisers which were huge, we felt the waiter could have advised us that this would be too much but our service was very rushed. Everything had a lot of garlic in it so much so that my main course was almost inedible. It was also one of our most expensive meals we had in Vegas, $30 for pasta in a tomato sauce was not good value. Overall it's by far the worst place we've been to in Vegas and the worst meal I've ha for a long time. Avoid.
My friends and I were excited to try this spot out after reading so many good reviews and looking over the menu ourselves. We chose to have the items from the tasting menu, as most of the things we wanted to try were listed on there anyway and it was $55 for a three course meal. The meal portions were quite large, however we found the quality mediochre, with some items seeming to be "reheated". While my friend was still eating hers, a server rudely interrupted her twice to ask if she was done. Within 2 minutes of finishing up, our main courses were hastily delivered. The same happened with dessert. To top it off, another unintroduced server appeared with a bill. Overall, we were disappointed with Lavo.
I have eaten at Lavo once before and its been fantastic both times. I was with a large group on this occasion and all apps, meals and deserts were great (meatballs, steaks and pasta and the fried oreo's). I would definitely recommend going if you are in Vegas.
Great food, amazing service, & good drinks. We loved that our waiter was very attentive but if he was busy, any other staff members would be by to check on you, they really work as a team to make sure the customer is constantly attended to. The atmosphere is good for a romantic dinner, but also works well for friends, groups, etc. I didnt feel like prices were outragous but on par for a nice dinner in vegas. Portions for appetizers are very very generous, and dinner entrees were ample as well, order sides to share. Cocktails were $14 (ask for the espresso martini not on menu but our waiter suggested it, its great) wine was about $10-12/per glass. i will defiantly come back here when in vegas again.
Loved our first visit to Lavo and will definitely be returning soon. First, our reserved table was ready upon arriving early, and we were seated outside as requested. We split a Caesar salad, which was delicious. I had the scallops appetizer as an entree. The dish includes three large seared scallops on a bean, corn and tomato dressing. Perfect flavor! We had the Oreo dessert, which was the best sweet I've had in a while. Can't wait to go back.
As usual the meatball was good. The lobster outstanding. The steak was so salty those of us that tasted it coughed. The person at the front desk was incredibly rude and unpersonable. She wouldn't answer questions nor speak to you. We didn't know if we should stand and wait or sit in the bar area. I always go to Lavo when I am in Vegas but this is my last time there.
I don't understand all the great reviews. The food was terrible - even the bread was tasteless. None of the fish/seafood offered on the menu is wild (all farmed) and the shrimp at $8 each were rubbery. The menu prices are greatly inflated in relation to food quality/taste. I have to believe that you can find better dining choices in Vegas.
Good ambiance. We sat in the indoor dining area for dinner. Great space if ur looking for a good standard dinner. You can't go wrong here! Everything is good! We had the Kobe meatballs and spaghetti and the salmon. Both were great!! Can't go wrong with Kobe meatballs and the salmon was super tender!
I asked for a nice romantic table as my wife and i were celebrating our 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, they sat us next to a bussing station and have waiters coming by picking up silverware, glasses, table resets etc all throughout our dinner. I also felt like we were underserved because we elected to have glasses of wine versus purchasing a bottle of wine. Service was ordinary and the prices were higher than usual for this type of dinning. I felt as if you were paying for the atmosphere and not the food. With all of the options available in Las Vegas, I wouldn't rush back as I have when I am in town to other favorite restaurants.
We went to Lavo on our last night in Las Vegas. It was a perfect way to end a great trip. The food was incredible. The service was top notch. We sat outside on a warm September evening watching the going ons on the Strip. The bread and marinara sauce at the start of the meal was so good that we will definitely be going back there on a return trip to Las Vegas.
I really enjoyed dinner at LAVO. We sat on the patio, which has a great view of the strip. The Kobe meatballs & spaghetti and garlic bread were amazing. We had a few drinks upstairs in the club after dinner. We got a stamp from the hostess with our receipt for admission.
When we arrived at restaurant we were told there was a 15-20 minute wait for our table, when you make a reservation there should be no wait at all. The greet staff was very unfriendly.
The service was absolutely horrible. The wait staff was very unfriendly, slow and had difficulty with our order. The music was very loud.
My fiancee and I went to LAVO for dinner on a Saturday night. We had made a reservation online ahead of time, which was convenient and easy to do. They were able to seat us right away. The server knew both her cocktail and dinner menu well and was able to provide us great descriptions of certain menu options to help us make our choices. The food came out in a very timely manner. We would have loved to eat dessert, but filled up on dinner. The staff was all very friendly and the service was great. Dinner was fantastic. We would definitely eat there again.
