Lavo Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent. The only issue was we waited a good 45 minutes past our reservation time to get seated, and the bartenders were very slow. It took about 20 minutes to get a drink (we waited for our table at the bar). The food, once we finally ate, was fantastic.
Food is great, but service is terrible. Ordered a beer when we ordered dinner, and didn’t receive it for 25 minutes, so had to ask manager. Beer finally came by the hand of the manager after a total of 30 minutes. My wife sent her salad back because dressing was too bitter. They brought the salad back with dressing on the side and my wife still didn’t care for it, and when the waiter asked how it was, my wife was honest ( and she didn’t eat 1/4 of it), but waiter didn’t take care of the salad. We had to ask for their “complimentary” bread 3x before getting it. Not to mention the bread is 4”, and if you want more, it is a charge. Never heard of a high-end restaurant charging for bread. They need to change a few things and work on service if we are ever going back...
Excellent! Wasn't expecting such good service at a trendy restaurant, but LAVO is the whole package. Will definitely return. Food was incredible, service was amazing, ambiance (outside) was great, and the music play list, at a conversation level, was perfect!!!
The menu has recently changed. Seems there are fewer options and the appetizer list (which used to be amazing) has shortened. Very disappointing. when asked why some items were missing I was told they weren't very consistent. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have always recommended to friends and colleagues. This last visit wasn't the same.
The pound waygu meatball was awesome. I especially liked the ricotta topper. Cocktails were delightful as were the bar tenders and servers. The prices are 'strip' prices which is too high for the food. The atmosphere was nice and softly lit, upscale except for the giant TV in the dining room. The TV was a real turn off for me and the tables could be more spread out, for an upscale restaurant. The complimentary garlic bread and an antipasti was a very nice touch and tasty as well.
Lavo is fabulous. The food is very flavorful. Service is excellent. The Beet salad is awesome. Chicken Marsala is rich and full of flavor. My wife had the Chilean sea bass and literally melts in your mouth. Very trendy ambiance.
Well worth it.
It was awesome!! The meatball was the best!! The service was great, our water glasses never got to 3/4’s full. The deserts were also great. If you like chocolate and peanut butter then the 20 later cake is a must! We tried it and the deep fried oreo’s. The ambiance was good also with the tunes thumping but not too loud! It was a good experience. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Terrible staff!! Despite making a booking we were made to wait 25 mins for a table. The guy at the main desk was extremely rude and only gave me a table after I got up twice to remind him. The food made me a ill the next day.
Amazing food and good ambience. The portions are massive and it isn't as expensive as you would think.
My only criticism would be our waiter was a bit too attentive. He was checking in on my GF and me every five minutes. Also a lot of other servers/staff running around constantly clearing tables, etc..
Our experience at Lavo was poor. We had reservations for 5pm on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was empty which was good. Waiter greeted us and once he determined that we were not planning to have alcoholic drinks his attitude changed. He did not inform us of any specials for the evening. He did nit suggest or recommend anything. He would not allow us make any substitutions. Once we finished the appetizers the main course arrived, which made us feel like we were being rushed. The entire experience was one we would like to forget. Not a good impression for my first visit to vegas.
Our table wasn't ready when we arrived. They told that they will text us when the table is ready but we didn't receive their text or call. We walked in again and finally the table was ready.
We were very happy with the food we ordered. I had spaghetti carbonara and it was excellent. We ordered Calamari to share and it was so delicious, probably the best I had in US.
We were there for a date but it was full of hotel guests who stop by for a quick dinner. So the ambiance was nice but it was not a good place for a romantic dinner.
I received an email from Opentable the following day suggesting that I didn't honor my reservation. Apperantly Lavo is having some trouble at the enterance of the Restaurant and reservations. They might consider to hire more experienced hosts/hostesses.
We tried the day club next day with the complimentary tickets we were given at the restaurant but it was like a nightmare. The young guy at the door was disrespectful and unprofessional, so we skipped the club.
We had reservations and were told to sit at the bar and wait, so we did for 15 min. Bartender took order and never brought our drinks.
They finally sat us in a booth on the side and it was so jammed together, it was almost impossible to get in.
The bus boys and servers had a staging station directly behind us and after being bumped 20 times by shoes and hearing the staff makes “swishing” noises to each other, we literally took our food, boxed it up and left. It was extremely expensive for what we paid for and we will never be returning.
