We arrived promptly for our 7:00 reservation to find only a half full restaurant. We asked if there would be a charge for opening one bottle of beer - they said no, however, they never brought the opener we requested (so we didn't drink it). We only ordered main dishes and it took 40min to be served. We also had to ask for water. We had a Groupon coupon - they wouldn't honor it. The bill finally came. They charged us $4.00 corkage even though we didn't need it. Didn't notice the charge until we got home. We would not recommend this restaurant - it has been opened long enough to have decent service.
Dissappointing experience for the second time. Hoped the first was a fluke since it's so convenient but was surprised by the lack of professionalism, even if it we're a very casual spot, which the prices suggest it is not.
Mother’s day brunch. We liked the food... like going to your mother’s house. Good value!
Food was excellent. Went on mother's day & was not disappointed. The place is rather small & bc it was buffet style for mother's day, we never knew who our server was. We had to ask random servers to bring whatever we needed. Overall the food was great. A cash only restaurant.
This was our second visit to Lavi. The first time we went we didn’t have a waitress come to our table to even offer us water for over 20 minutes. So we finally had to go talk to the hostess. However, all the food we ordered was very good.
This time the service was bad in a different way. We felt rushed when the waitress cleared plates while some of us were still eating, and she also asked us about dessert before we were all finished with dinner. We were the last table in there and it was only about 9:45 and they started mopping the floors around us! They changed the menu too and there were a lot of unhealthy options. My fish was also overly spicy . My husband had a delicious fried tofu dish the first time we dined here, but this time the tofu entree was plain and bland. Our friend did seem to enjoy the fried chicken and waffles. Also this time they charged a corkage fee which didn’t exist the last time we came. In a nut shell, I don’t think we’ll be back here any time soon!
Good food, but had a long wait. It was a Saturday night during the dinner rush. Cramped space, which adds to the noise level. Price is slightly higher than you could find elsewhere, but it is also from scratch and farm to table, so this is to be expected.
The food was delicious and service was great. We loved everything and can’t wait to come back and try other dishes
A disappointment. Dry, bland fried chicken, overcooked Bbq chicken, tiny portion of tofu entree. Nice server. Restaurant is way too loud when filled.
Won’t be returning any time soon.
The food was excellent but slow to arrive but that is what happens in a cook to order restaurant. Loved the corn bread waffle with the fried chicken. The hostess/waitress as very warm and friendly. We were surprised that we were the only ones in on a Wednesday. We are early eaters though. I will recommend to friends and family. I would very much like to see this neighborhood restaurant make it.
I don't usually write reviews. I felt the need to in this case in the hope the operators of this fairly new restaurant might save themselves from certain failure.
Firstly, I grew up in the food business. So I fancy myself to know a thing or two about properly operating a restaurant. Secondly, I'm a foodie.
Party of 4. We ordered 3 Fried Chicken dinners and one Salmon. After 1 hour and forty-five minutes 2 of the 3 Chickens came out. Ten minutes later the last Chicken came out (missing half the Chicken the first dishes got). Half the Chicken on first dishes were over cooked.
I noticed early on food was not moving out of kitchen at all. Servers were apologetic. They were in a tough spot. They comped the corkage fees as some sort of bone after an agonizing wait. Yes a BYOB has a corkage fee of $4 per bottle. How is that a thing? (or PO your customers before u start).
There is still time to save your business. Learn how to cook and expedite a workflow in a kitchen. Recipes seem good and place is nice. It's a shame to see this blown so bad.

Not worth to money. Boring menu, food tastes about average even below. Cash only limit the urge to order more (not a good practice )
Food was average. My entree was cold. Rather than make fresh, cook re-fried my tofu. Waitress was pleasant. Noise level was very loud.
This is a really nice neighborhood restaurant. Friendly, casual.
We enjoyed the food at Lavi very much. I especially liked the blackened catfish. BYOB but they do charge a 4$ corkage fee. Maybe that should be a one time fee for table especially since we like opening and pouring our own wine. Some sort of bread or complimentary starter would be nice so you can sip wine before your dinner arrives. Tiramisu was very light and tasty. I would definitely try them again.
Great neighborhood BYOB that seems to have become known well beyond the neighborhood. Menu is eclectic with new dishes appearing regularly. Each one is a novel twist with really interesting spices. Great place.
Did not live up to the rave reviews. Service uneven. No bread. no limes or lemons for sparking water. Appetizers came 10 minutes apart. Food was average. Nice people trying hard but disappointing overall
Good food, good service, convenient location. Add in good friends = a good evening.
Service was poor. Menusthen nothing for 20 minutes. No bread for table.40 minutes after ordering for 2. Awful noise- no absorption/ baffles. Staff& owner out of the room for 10 minutes at time
This is my second time at Lavi--first for brunch and then for dinner. Brunch was incredible--a great value, wonderful and creative food, excellent service. But dinner, albeit on a Saturday night, was disappointing. They were understaffed with servers and in the kitchen, which made service very slow and some of the food come out lukewarm. Oddly, they were out of the house salad, even though it was early in the evening--perhaps a glitch in their planning and ordering. The menu is creative, portions are adequate, excellent tiramisu. It is obvious that the kitchen is trying very hard to do things differently. However, it is clear that they are making rookie errors. There should be some way to balance the noise in the dining area. The website also must mention prominently that only cash is accepted and that there is a corkage fee--not a bit deal, but again, rookie error. Lavi has great potential to become a "go to"place as they gain more experience.

Expensive ,BYOB w corkage fee per bottle, no bread, terrible service. 3 groups arrived after us were fed first. Too bad. Would never return.

The food was great and we are looking forward to coming back! And it’s very close to our house so a great local spot for date night. Also looking forward to summer and outdoor seating.
Sweet little place off the beaten track. I think they are still refining service and food. I had salmon and forgot to ask for it to be pink and waitress didn't ask how I wanted it served so it was a tad overcooked for my taste but not dry and it was flavorful. It was annoying to be charged a $4 corkage fee for a screw top bottle. The glasses were not stems so glasses will just go in the dishwasher. (I prefer stemmed glasses for my wine though. Just tastes better!) I love BYOBs and I don't mind paying cash(instead of card) to support a small restaurant but the corkage fee has got to go. Chocolate cake was delicious but described just as chocolate cake. Glad I took the chance on dessert which I don't usually do but it was worth it. Maybe I will give Lavi another try in a few months. Outdoor tables after rush hour will be a plus.

Please understand that we prepare our food fresh daily. Because of this, the later reservations tend to experience this issue. I was really excited to try this place as a great new addition to Ardmore. It didn’t quite live up to the build up in my mind. We stared out with some service that wasn’t great. We had to wait well over an hour for our meal and didn’t get a great response for things like asking for water and stuff. My friend chicken was very good. Breading was nice, not greasy and the meat was very tender and it was not dry. My wife had shrimp and grits and they were as a giant plate of grits but only 5 little shrimp and it just didn’t quite look right. Also the shrimp wasn’t deveined. Not sure if that’s a mandatory but usually it comes prepared that way. They ran out of a few things on the menu which happens. We had the shrimp and endive as an appetizer and it was ok. Overall I’m willing to give it another try or maybe a shot on caviar. It may take some convincing for my wife however.
Food is great. Variety and quality abound. Service needs to reach the culinary level. Value is off the charts. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed!

Food was really good! Shrimp and grits and chicken were delish and elevated to a special something with some amazing sauces. Excited to go back and try brunch.
We decided to go to Lavi for brunch in Ardmore, nothing but great reviews.We we seated in the private dining area, well lit and a very comfortable atmosphere.
Ten of us reviewed the menu and decided to order a number of entries and sample each amongst us.
Not one item was to be forgotten! What an afternoon of excellent food, service and atmosphere.
If you haven't been,you owe to yourself to do so. Very highly recommended, do it!
Our experience at Lavi was wonderful. We were in the area for a business meeting and our point-of-contact recommended Lavi. The food was delicious, well seasoned and prepared "exactly" as requested. From the moment we entered Lavi until our departure, the service was professional and phenomenal; hence we will definitely visit Lavi again.
Great food and definitely worth trying
this is a place that has yet to realize its potential. My fried chicken was oily not crisp. Crab appetizer was bland. Fried brie was not fully cooked/melted. ChARGED A $4 CORKAGE FEE to supply regular glasses for bottle of wine. Server was new and did not know the menu. Mac and cheese tasted like it came out of a Kraft box.
THis restaurant is in a good location with a good potential clientele. But it does not yet deliver value for the upscale prices that it charges. BTW it also requires cash only--- i don't think it said that on the website..

Came here with my girlfriend a few times. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the food is very creative. Definitely recommend this place if you wanna take your lady out on a good time or just want some good food. The owner is also kind and courteous she made us feel very welcomed. Definitely gonna be one of my regular places.
My experience at Lavi was phenomenal! The environment is very welcoming and the servers are great at recommending dishes if your having a hard time choosing between the delicious selections. My roasted chicken was cooked to perfection the Chef even came over to the table to make sure it was prepared to my liking. The service and atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Lavi will definitely be added to my list of faves whenever in town!

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at LaVi! Everything from the service to the food preparation/taste was perfect. The owner made sure to come and check on our dinner party to make sure everything was going well. I will definitely be back!
This is a very cozy dining experience. The hostess Khadeja was very warm and welcoming. The service was great. the food was delicious. Lavi will definitely be a regular after work dinner restaurant.
The food was excellent with many creative options. It’s very unfortunate that the staff was poorly trained. One person took our order, and another brought out only 2 of the 3 dinners ordered. We assumed she went back to get the third. But after a 10-15 minute wait, we had to call out to a waitress to see what the problem was. Then a third person said it would be out shortly & that they had caught the mistake. After waiting another 10-15 minutes, we then called over the Hostess who said it had to be made from scratch & that’s why it was taking longer for it to come out than our initial dinners. The meal finally came & it was very good. But the lack of notice of the problem or communication of the length of the wait was poor. They did give my friend a $15 gift card to return. But the better practice would have been to comp the dinner. Communication is the key to good service.
