For every occasion, to change the ordinary into extraordinary, come join us at Lavender Bistro, "the best kept secret of La Quinta", for a memorable dining experience.
First time their, our experience was fantastic! The patio was so enjoyable with the music and decor. The service was first rate and great food. Thanks so much it was a real treat
We were a party of two women. We were seated at a table outside for two in the back, even though there were several empty tables of four closer to the front. We asked if there was another table available and were seated at another table for two on the side. We had to wait a long time before the waiter came to the table. As soon as our food was served, at least 20 flies immediately descended around our table. We looked around and none of the other tables had this problem. We tried to swat them away without success. The waiter said it happens because it's summer. He offered to move us to an inside table which we did. As it was a quiet evening most of the nicer tables for four remained empty. We regret that we didn't insist on requesting one of those tables, as they were in a much better location. I believe that if two men were dining together, they would have not been seated way in the back.
We have eaten at this place a bunch of times and it was Fabulous. But this time it was a average at best. I don't know if it is because they are closing for the season the end of the week, but the service was on par with previous times, the ambiance is exceptional as usual, but the food was just nothing special. Having said that like I said previous times it has been outstanding. May have just been a off night I don't know
Everything was wonderful
Excellent service and food....very romantic on patio
Our third time here and was Memorial Day where most had left town so maybe 1/3 full.
Hostess was very pleasant and recognized my birthday.
Service was mediocre with us having to ask to have our wine filled as bucket was placed about 10’ away.
Second time I just got it and filled.
A birthday desert was provided and good in addition to a very good crime brûlée
Dinners were all excellent so will go back.
Food was good I had the lobster ravioli and my husband had the surf/turf, service was marginal and not very attentive.
We had a wonderful dinner--the patio was windy so we dined inside. I recommend the patio--my favorite place!
Waiter handed us bill without asking if we needed anything else...we didn’t ask for bill as we were enjoying the evening with our family.
Didn’t check on us aside from taking our order and giving us bill
Wait staff was good though and when we asked for coffee to end our evening...waiter came to table at that time to grab bill and add 2 coffees
Seemed petty especially when he didn’t bother to wrap up our evening by asking if we needed or cared for anything else and we had to ask wait staff for just about everything that evening
Anyhow wasn’t a good experience waiter wise but enjoyed food
Very windy evening so no outside seating. That alone drops rating one star.
Fabulous ambience and great service and food! Great for a romantic dinner or a special occasion!
Wonderful place with a beautiful outdoor setting. Food was delicious as always.
Love everything about this restaurant. Love the food, the specialty drinks, and especially the ambience and atmosphere. It is so beautiful to sit outside underneath the trees, and have the music in the background.
Great atmosphere and excellent service. Super fun evening celebrating my birthday.
After many visits to Lavender we love the restaurant for the wonderful ambience and friendly staff. The food is well presented but overpriced and on some occasions we have had to return food, eg lamb chops ordered med.rare but delivered blackened and very small chops for over $40. This visit the halibut was delicious but very small and again $40. We feel with such a huge following the restaurant will not address the issue of variable quality and often poor value. We love the place so live in hope.
This was our second dining experience at Lavender Bistro. I have to say this time was much better probably due to the time of year and not during 'season' for the restaurant when they can be quite busy. We had an early reservation so seating preference wasn't a problem. When seated there was a noticeable fan motor hum that was distracting initially. But after more patrons arrived the fan noise became less distracting. The restaurant setting on their beautiful patio creates the great ambiance. The wait staff are very attentive but not intrusive. You have plenty of time to relax, enjoy your wine and your meal. The menu doesn't offer a huge selection of items but still there are plenty of great items to choose from. We started with the heirloom tomato salad dressed with a balsamic glaze and buratta cheese. For the main course we both ordered the Duroc pork chop. This was cooked to perfection. Very moist and flavorful all the way to the end. The only slight personal disappointment was the dessert menu selections. Overall a great dining experience. Will definitely be returning in the near future.
The place was beautiful I didn’t like the salmon which is not a difficult dish to cook. The place is overly expensive which if the food was better I would not mind. But it’s not worth the fuss. Overrated. I will not be returning.
Beautiful location, solid service and excellent food.
Wonderful experience from the minute we walked in the door.
Fantastic food, service and ambiance!
I would highly recommend
We were given a gift certificate enough for two meals for two. I called specifically to ask whether this restaurant will be able to use the value for tax, tips, and drinks. I was emphatically assured that we could and made a reservation.
When we were seated (a whole other matter) I showed the certificate to the server and asked her to confirm that what I was told was in fact true in practice. It was and we ordered and enjoyed the meal once we had the filthy cutlery and wine glasses with lipstick and fingerprints changed out.
We decided to use the balance for our 40th anniversary dinner. I didn't feel the need to clear the usage of the certificate again. I gave the certificate to the server with the intent of allowing them to use it for the full value plus tips and tax etc. He returned and tells me they don't allow it to be used that way.
Bad form. Really bad form. We just walked out after an altercation which is just so special on your 40th. Imagine the server giving you an argument while you're trying to give him a 20% tip. Priceless.
Who in the world would give a client a certificate with the knowledge they'd have to pony up money to use it ? Not me.
Great food, recipes outstanding. Busy Mother’s Day evening but most customers looked happy and while it was obvious most servers were busy- they looked pleasant and efficient. Except for Christian, our server. There were long gaps in his showing up at our table to greet us , take orders etc. sometimes wait staff discount tables of single older women. We felt that. Also he just seemed very distracted and disinterested in our needs. I began to think he had pulled two 12 hour shifts with no break! Really odd to have that kind of service in a restaurant where the average entree is $35+. Hope he was just having a “bad” day.
Morgan was our server. She was wonderful! Food was brought out in a timely manner. It was spaced out perfectly. The patio was beautiful, as always. The food itself was okay. The lox appetizer was the best thing we ordered. Salmon was so fresh! The experience, overall, was lovely!
Amazing courtyard. Lots of shade and elevation. Food was amazing! Mother's Day Brunch.
Our service was mediocre at best. We were constantly looking for our server, as he never came to our table. Our Water glasses were always empty. Once he brought a bottle of wine, he never came back to refill our glasses. 4 of the six entrees were delicious. Two were tolerable at best. We were a group of six and our bill was $700! We will think long and hard before we go back.
We celebrated Mother's Day for my wife at this beautiful restaurant. The outdoor patio really adds to the ambiance. The food and service was outstanding. This jumped up high on our favorite restaurant list!
We had dinner for mother’s day on Saturday night and the experience was so so. The flies outside were awful. Hard to eat with all the flies. Talked to the staff and they just said Yes we know and that was it. The food is ok. Thought it was better before. We used to love going there but not so much anymore. Don’t think we will go Back unfortunately.
I have been there twice. First time was wonderful.
This time I was very disappointed in the food. It was just tasteless.
Charming atmosphere, romantic, good value as well. Service was a bit sluggish at first, but improved as the evening went on. Would definitely eat here again!
This is our new favorite place in the desert. The food and atmosphere is perfect . Be sure to try their Lavender special drink if you like sweet drinks.
Excellent service food was very well prepared. Highly recommend to others
Beautiful patio. Excellent food. Highly recommend this restaurant
We have been to Lavender three times this year and found the food very good, but the service very spotty. If the waitstaff and hostessess showed even half of the energy and concern for your guests as the support team (bus boys and those delivering food) it would go a long way towards improving our rating.
All our food courses were great , starting from the best caesar salad I have had this season, leading up to a wonderful pasta special meal. The atmosphere continues to greet lots of satisfied customers.
Cant wait to return!!
The lady reception is very unfriendly. The wait staff was very good.
Great patio and Singer! Food was good but the service was average. We had to flag down our server to get more drinks.
Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent service and the lobster ravioli is to die for! Definitely would recommend to anyone who enjoys fine dining and tasteful experience!
I was not impressed with the quality of the food. The menu, the atmosphere and entertainment were all tired and out dated. I’m sorry this was my last meal in the area. Our server was very good however the bus staff rushed us and kept trying to take away plates that we had not finished
We were very disappointed that the mussels were taken off of the menu for the season...because they attracted flies!? Interesting reason. The lobster ravioli appetizer, 4 for $20, was a rip off. Calamari good...seafood risotto so so. We love Lavendar but this particular evening it was a disappointment.
