I could book a reservation but they weren’t even open. I then I couldn’t book another restaurant because I had to call to cancel yet they didn’t even answer.
It wasn’t open for business. Bad call on your part. Drove all the way there. Not open until fall
It was CLOSED VERY DISAPPOINTING
We live in Sedona, AZ and always love stopping in La Quinta to dine at Lavender Bistro. The ambiance could not be more romantic and beautiful. Their menu is extensive the food is always superior. They offer a wide wine selection as well. The service is usually excellent. Some nights it is quite busy and there is quite an energetic vibe. One of our favorite restaurants!
We had a 6 pm reservation . We arrived on time and were seated right away . Service was rushed we had a drink I had soup and we both had entrees and dinner was finished at 640. They gave us no time between courses . Not really a find dining experience although prices were upper scale restaurAnt prices.
We had friends visiting and they loved the place. It really is a beautiful atmosphere with excellent food.
It's all about the patio...
Rained the day we went. Seated inside the service was spotty and the food was poor.
Celebrated a birthday for my husband with 8 other friends and family. Very lovely evening
It was a rainy night so no one could sit on the patio. However, Lavender did an excellent job of seating everyone and providing good service under adverse circumstances.
We had a 5:30 reservation. It was a very rainy night and we arrived at 5:17. The hostess said “I can’t seat you until 5:30” others were arriving early as well. Hostess just looked down at her computer. Basically ignoring us.
We were all just hanging out at entrance because of the rain. Finally a gal came over to seat everyone.
The “ I can’t seat you” reply soured me to the experience of a romantic dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. Really? “Can’t seat you” you’re in a service industry! We were 13 minutes early. That’s a problem for them or her?! Terrible won’t go back. And we’ve been going for tv e past 10 years.
Loved everything about it.
Very disappointing. Perhaps it was an off night. The oysters tasted “off” and the sauce served with them was a watery tomato mix. We sent it back
Loved it! Will definitely be returning.
We love Lavender Bistro! The food is always outstanding. I ordered the Butter Fish. It was melt in your mouth wonderful. The outdoor patio is beautiful. This time, however, I felt the service was a little hurried.
We have been going to this restaurant for years during each visit to La Quinta and are usually very pleased. This time, not so much. The food was just "ok" and they had all the heaters on around us on a nice night. I asked to turn a few off and they only turned one off. It is not fun eating when you are hot and sweaty.
Always a wonderful meal, friendly staff and the outdoor setting couldn’t be prettier!!
Plus the beautiful Peacock sculpture greeting you is amazing!!
charming outdoor patio with light music..our meal was perfect!
Always look forward to dining here when in the desert.
Great place for a nice dinner and fabulous atmosphere.
Really nice waiter named Oscar made our stay and experience at Lavender Bistro really special.
Food was ok not great. The duck was slightly overcooked. Service
Excellent food, service, and the patio is spectacular!
We brought our 8th grade teacher here who was in town for a class reunion. It was a perfect place for a special get together. Food was excellent, service great and the ambiance outstanding! Really enjoyed our evening here.
When lavender bistro is on its game, it’s fantastic. The problem I have with them is they’re inconsistent. We were there two weeks prior to this visit and the food was fantastic. This visit the food was mediocre. The fish was bland and all of our food came out Luke warm. We called the waiter over, he took my husbands plate, and returned with the fish he ordered but with completely different sides. By the time we had all eaten and didn’t bother sending it back. The waiter was wonderful and comped a dessert for us so he tried to make amends. Lavender bistro needs to be more consistent for the money they charge for their dinners.
Great food, great ambiance. Service a little iffy
This was our fourth visit to Lavender Bistro as it is a splurge when we visit the desert. We were disappointed with our visit on March 6, 2020 for two reasons. First, I came away from the restaurant with grease stains on my pants. On thinking back I remembered that the underneath of the chair felt greasy. After trying to wash the pants the stain would not come out. When I called Christa at the restaurant she was dismissive but did say she would pass my concern along. I have received no follow-up from the restaurant. Second, our waiter Frank was friendly at the start and end of the meal but otherwise absent. We had to ask twice about the fish special and did not receive proper information. Frank never came to check on our main course or ask if I needed another glass of wine. We shared a cake for dessert and had to ask for side plates. When the bill came we asked to have it split between two couples and this seemed like an unreasonable request to Frank. For a 'high end' restaurant the service and attitude of the staff did not meet the mark. We will not return.
Very lovely evening
We had a very nice night at Lavender; delicious food in a beautiful setting. The best part about our night was the incredible service we received from Oscar. He truly enhanced our dining experience.
Took a friend to enjoy our favorite restaurant. It certainly did not disappoint. Every detail was excellent as always. The owner runs a tight ship and assures his guests are well served.
VERY GOOD !!!
A perfect evening
We’ve been going up Lavender for many years on vacation to Palm Desert. I’m always conflicted about this restaurant but grinds like to come here do we do - the ambience is the best
Excellent meal and our waiter was very good. It’s our place to bring first time guests
We love Lavender Bistro 💜. Our sister in laws s from Paris and North Carolina we’re very impressed by the restaurant and the ever so beautiful patio. Dinner was fabulous and desert was a lovely. Always a great place to dine.
Lavenders is always consistently good. We’ll be back.
We went to Lavender Bistro to celebrate my friend getting married. There was a group of 6 young women. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was really good. What brought my ratings down was our service. Our waiter was completely unprofessional. He treated us terribly. You could tell he did not like serving our table because we, unlike all the other patrons at the restaurant, were a lot younger and not spending $400 on a bottle of wine. At the end of the night, he came to ask us if we wanted dessert. We politely said no thank you. He proceeded to laugh at us and go talk to another waiter about is while pointing out our table. We paid our bill in cash to make it as simple for him as possible. When he brought back our bill, he did not include the receipt with it, but included the change. We asked to see the receipt and he gave it back to us. Upon counting up our change, we realized that he short-changed us. He pocketed $10 of what should have been our change from our bill. He realized that we had figured this out and hovered around our table until we left. We went to talk to the bar manager after this incident before we left. She told us that the manager had left for the evening and that she was sorry for this incident and that someone from the restaurant would contact us. We have not been contacted since and this happened two weekends ago. Such a bummer because other than the waitstaff and way this was handled, I would have recommended this place. Now, not so much. And warning, if you have a server named Carlos, run for the hills because he will take your money.
I loved the ambiance and the service was quick and efficient, we enjoyed the patio and the live music
I would have liked to see more actual lavender plants in the landscape
Very disappointed. Mediocre Caesar salad and the portion of chicken was a joke - boneless chicken was two very small pieces on a bone. Two of us ordered it and the other person had a small but ok amount whereas mine needed a microscope. Servers should have known better than to serve it seeing the difference. Perhaps they ran out or? But really it was a joke for $31 and should not have served it. And the preparation was not great either. Not very tasty. I didn’t complain as we brought a guest. Would have expected a restaurant that charges high prices would do better.
