Bland food decor and ambiance. Just another Country club dining room.
Great food and service. Bob the piano man, was very respectful and played a great selection.
Outstanding ! Entrees were excellent !!
Side of Brussel sprouts were not cooked !
Ambiance is spectacular !!
Outstanding experience! Celebrated my wife's birthday with some close friends. Our 3rd time here and 1st time for our friends. The friends fell in love with Lavender just like us. We winter in this area and Lavender has become our favourite spot to celebrate special occasions or if you want just some fine dining experience. The outdoor seating reminds me of Tavern on the park in New York. They had Norwegian Halibut for the evening special and it was the halibut I have ever had!
Charming and inviting restaurant. The menu selections were varied and plentiful. The service was impeccable. The food was wonderful perhaps a tad pricey but well worth it. We definitely plan on returning.
Everything was great except for VERY ANGRY, CONDESCENDING AND UNPLEASANT receptionist despite fact that we had proper reservations and are frequent diners at this restaurant.
A very lovely dinner in stunning location. Great meal, great service
This restaurant was our last night and it was the highlight of our trip!
I'm not going to go into the setting as there are plenty of reviews for that. This may have been an off night, but the service was deplorable. We were seated at 7:45 P.M. and didn't receive our first order of drinks until 8:30 and still hadn't had an opportunity to order our food. We just didn't trust that the evening would get any better and asked for our check without ordering food. (Rated food as poor only because we weren't able to taste it and a rating is required.)We saw another table leave as the waitress was bringing their desert. At this price point the service should be second to none. The waitress was very apologetic; the management seems disinterested. :-(
I enjoy Lavendar but Sunday they missed the mark. We ordered the House Smoked Scottish Salmon with toast points. To my surprise it was plain white bread that was toasted quickly, soggy and burnt. We ask the waiter to pls bring us a new batch but it was the same. We ordered 2 main courses (1) veal (2) Roasted Honey Brine Pork Chop which was mine. The sides potatoes, braised cabbage, were very flavorful but the pork chop was tough no flavor. Very disappointed.
A wonderful evening enjoyed by all. Beautiful outdoor setting and wonderful food.
We have eaten at Lavender Bistro a number of times but, this time, our table of 11 was very disappointed with the food. Almost all of our meals were not great.
2 of us ordered steak..one rare, one medium rare. They were given to the wrong person and they were both cold. The flavour of the potatoes and the sauce was not very good. The lamb was underdone. The lobster ravioli was quite fishy tasting, the Osso Buco was tasteless. The mussels were pretty good however, some of them were quite large and seemed under cooked. It was a very expensive meal and most of us were very disappointed. Although the ambience is beautiful, we will not be back anytime soon.
Very disappointed in this visit to Lavender. The service was terrible. Even though we had a reservation we waited twenty minutes to be seated. The service was ridiculously slow. By the time we received our food it was barely lukewarm. We couldn’t fathom sending it back as we had waited over two hours. Extremely disappointing.
We were a group of 8 friends from various places around the country. I had made our reservations 2-months in advance of our visit to the Coachella Valley. We were shown to our table, which was under a cover, shoved up against a wall, not out in the open and under the trees. There was a table we all said would be perfect, but no, it was 'reserved.' Um, I made reservations 2-months in advance and got to the restaurant 10-minutes before they opened. I would assume we would have the pick of the place. We took the snub in stride and sat at the table we were sequestered to.
Our food was severely average, as was our service.
The coup de grâce was at the end of our meal. As seasoned travelers who travel as a group many times, we have a system that has worked flawlessly at restaurants around the world. We use post-its, with each couple or single person calculating their dinner with added tax, putting it on the post-it and then sticking it to the corresponding credit card. The last person or couple in the group has their card run as the 'remainder,' to cover for any slight inaccuracies that may have occurred.
Restaurants around the world have embraced this process for many years. When we mentioned to our server, Carlos, that this was the process we wished to use to cover our bill, he stated that it was not allowed and that we could only use (4) credit cards to pay the bill. We were all shocked by this rule, which discriminated against the two single people at our table. We asked to speak to the manager and waited an additional 20-min to be told that the manager was the chef and he was too busy to deal with us. When checking online, we noticed the chef and manager share the same last name, but are indeed separate people.
Lastly, our original choice for a table that we were told was 'reserved' sat empty the entire three hours we were dining at our 'sequestered' table. We will not be back, nor will our friends who are full-time residents in Rancho Mirage.
Food and service way below average.
We we not the only guests that were unhappy. Tables around us sent back their food and drinks.
Do Not recommend.
This is my second dining experience at Lavende Bristo.
I loved it so much the first time.
This time my meal was just fair, luke warm, old shrimp with no crisp crunch.
I did not complain because it was a business gathering.
It was our first time to the Lavendar Bistro and would go again for sure. The food was excellent, we sat on the patio which was lovely. Highly recommend
Nice outdoor patio and live dinner. Great experience.
Had reservations, but were still put inside. Could not hear the music and the waitress was having issues with the table next to us. Was not a great experience. Ahi Tuna with coconut was not my favourite. Normally we have a great experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and will return.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Service seemed a little slower and less friendly than usual.
Wife had the duck because it was excellent the first time we came for dinner. This time the duck was over cooked & dry. We also had to wave down our waiter to get drinks or service. The couple with us were visiting and did not complain about the meal, until I asked on the way out the door how their dinner was. His steak was tough, but he didn't want to say anything because he was my guest.
We won't be back,
We made a Valentines reservation based on a recommendation of a work colleague. We drove 1 and a 1/2 hour to get their. Google maps took us on a weird detour which meant we were 10 minutes late. The hostess had us wait 3 minutes and then returned to say they could not seat us as they had sent the cooks home.
They could have offered us a drink, bread or appetizers, especially after I told them how far we drove. We turned around and drove home with no food. Not good service and not the way to spend Valentines!!
It was great definitely going back
We found (and always find) Lavendar's Bistro to be just the right place to celebrate any special occasion like birthdays, Valentine's Day and anniversaries. We can't wait for another occasion to eat at Lavendars. The ambience is par excellent!!
The price fix menu was significantly overpriced.
The Lavender Bistro was as good as ever but the fixed menu at $80 each was a bit of a surprise.
Probably our best Valentines ever!! Everything was perfect!
It was the best Valentine’s Day the service was perfect the table was perfect and the food was wonderful
