Lavender Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Ambience is always great in the patio.. food is so so. One dinner had to be sent back as it was cold. The salads had no dressing and we had to wait and ask three times for dressing. The shrimp cocktail was mediocre and prepared way ahead of time as the ice was melting into the shrimp and the cocktail sauce was partly icey. Service and food needs to be stepped up.
Absolutely an amazing experience at Lavender Bistro ! The restaurant was celebrating their 10th anniversary the evening we dined there. The minute we arrived we were greeted with complimentary champagne and a photographer. The patio was beautiful with lights in the trees, white table cloths, and live music. Service and food was wonderful.
Amazing. Lavender was an absolute delight. The patio seems magical with trees with lights wrapped around the trunks and more lights strung overhead. A musician is playing get songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. His volume is perfect to be enjoyed while still able to easily visit with your dinning party. At one point he played “Way you look tonight” and I thought I was in the backyard wedding reception from Father of the Bride.
What about the food and service. Service was friendly and timely. Tables were quickly bussed and readied for the next guests. Drinks were refilled and plates were cleared promptly all without disruption. Many great variety with salads and entrees. Accommodating to celiac / gluten free needs. Our dinner party enjoyed fish, chicken, elk and crab cakes. Everyone said their dish was delicious.
Lavender Bistro is a truly special spot in the desert. The menu is varied and preparations are excellent. Live entertainment adds to the lovely ambiance in the courtyard and the lively bar area. The only weak spot was when we had a pre-dinner cocktail in the bar. Our server asked if we had a reservation for dinner and let us know that we would need to settle with her before moving to the dining room. Of course; no problem. However, we were approached 4 times by different servers over little more than 20 minutes to check on us, and our original server came over when my husband was signing the check to confirm that he was, indeed, signing it. It’s unfortunate if they have a problem with patrons skipping out on bar tabs, but management needs to figure out a more gracious and unobtrusive way to handle it.
We asked the waiter to ensure time between applies and entrees. Perhaps we asked him too late but it was obvious the entree was prepared and set under a heat lamp as the sauce had that telltale glaze so indicative of heat lampung. We will make sure our instructions are more timely next visit. Otherwise the ambiance wins us over.
Sevice and ambiance delightful but the food was average and did not live up to the service and ambiance. Out of our group of 4, 1 guest enjoyed their meal. The problem was overcooking or undercooking, lack of proper seasoning for most items and a general flatness of taste. Very disappointed.
My wife and I and a special friend recently enjoyed a wonderful evening of wining, dining and friendship at Lavender’s Bistro.
We started off with a dozen Fanny Bay oysters, followed up by a superb steak tartare and then a fine salad. All of this accompanied by some fine bubbly.
The service was exceptional, and the ambience as usual was great.
You can bet that we will return.
Always consistent and delicious appetizers, salads/soup and entrees with generally good to very good service. Our appetizer was the six large prawns which we shared. For our entrees we had Dover Sole and the baked half chicken.... both were excellent. Service was very good by Jorge.
Seriously the best place to eat when visiting Palm Springs. Give yourself some extra time to visit the bar area before your reservations. I've eaten outside on their patio that is charming and whimsical. Excellent staff, superior food choices, but still down to earth enough to wear jeans. I love this place!
Great for a romantic dinner or even a family dinner. Food was good. I wouldn’t say it was the best meal I ever had. But it was nice. Duck was good and the pork chop and sides were good. Alaska crab legs were less than desirable. Shrimp cocktail was a good size but a little limp. Over all good.
One of the prettiest places to have dinner in the area - trees are strung with lights. Portable heat lamps can be an issue as people seemed to be either too hot or too cold. Two in our group ordered the sole while two had a John Dorry special. The sole was better as the John Dorry was slightly over cooked. Service was good, not great. Still, I am sure we will return.
Lavender Bistro is a nice place for outdoor dining or wedding catering.
However, the food doesn't really amaze me after all it is Bistro(food is on average). I was really upset they serve cool soups which is a really disastrous mistake for a restaurant. They response to this by cutting down one person fee after I made several times requests about this, Which I am very surprised how they dealt with this so passively.
The menu on special holiday is fixed for customers which I don't really like because it constrains customers' preference. I hope they can provides special holiday menu and regular one even on special holiday.
I would recommend this place to those accept food with reasonable price for special occasion like wedding anniversary or family reunion.
