Lavender Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This was our second opportunity to dine at Lavender and we can't wait until we return to the area so we can do it again. The food was hot, fresh flavorful and attractive. Our server was bright, cheerful, funny and professional. The service assistant was great, too.
Our daughter and son-in-law gave us a gift card for Lavender's Bistro. We absolutely loved everything about it! We loved the patio dining with the little lights, the fabulous service that we received, the beautiful musical entertainment, and the delicious food. Also, we went on Tues. which was half off on a bottle of wine. I had the salmon (and a salad before) and it was delicious! My husband had the filet mignon with blue cheese and he loved it. I tasted his mushroom soup and we both loved it! For dessert, we split an apple tart with rum raisin ice cream and it is hard to describe how great it tasted! We loved it all! We live a couple of hours away, but we will be back!
Although we made a table reservation, when we arrived there was a college football game on, so we opted for bar seating. We started with a bottle of wine (bartender's recommendation) and the seafood tower, both were wonderful. Our entrees had mixed reviews. Both the seabass (the evening's special) and the sole were cooked well but were rather boring and bland. The veal tenderloin however, was phenomenal. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the mushroom risotto was so rich and delicious that the plate was practically licked clean!
Celebrating a birthday here with the entire family was a special event for all of us ! The ambiance, wonderfully prepared food, and service were all top notch- especially our server Natalie who always goes the extra mile for her customers. Thank you for making this a most memorable night for all of us!
This restaurant came highly recommended to us by many, but sadly we were very disappointed in the food, the service and the value. The risotto was not cooked (crunchy!) for example and the rare steak was well done... Our tentative bus-boy did a much better job as our server, while our server made it clear he did not approve of the bus-boy's attentiveness (but we did as we though he was great). Bizarre and overpriced dining experience not to recommend. A plus for the ambiance outside seating and music entertainment.
This was our second visit, but our first patio experience... We loved the setting... The music was very nice and the volume was perfect... The four of us all had different entrees and each was excellent... I can't wait until we are in the desert again to enjoy another meal here!
On vacation and heard many good things from different sources about this place. Well I'm sorry it did not go well
It was a Sunday night after 8:00 so maybe they were off their game at the end of a long weekend
The outdoor seating area is really great and perfect for a nice dinner but that's where it ends. The food was just so average and for a place charging these prices that is unacceptable. The mushroom soup was decent but the rest of it including a $36 piece of fish really wasn't good
I spoke to a few locals afterward and all were surprised with what I thought.
Oh well, maybe if we ever come back here we will give it another shot
Beautiful setting on the patio. Had the pork chop. Was fantastic. Missed having applesauce with it though. Maybe warm cinnamon apples would be better than the bitter kumquats in the chutney....caesar salad was great. Molten choc cake was nummy!! We will be back 👍😀
We frequently dine here, either patio dining or the bar since the restaurant opened.
Sat evening was more than disappointing. We had guests here which made it embarrassing. The waiter Luis argued with my guest when she ordered her marguerita saying the bartender only used mix. I intervened and he agreed to ask the waitress came back with the drink but no salt. When she said she ordered salt he was unhappy and came back and added some salt. I ordered the mussels as di my husband. Mine came and they were shriveled up and old. No waiter anywhere finally the bus boy came over Nd said what's wrong. I explained and he took them away to tell the Chef to secure fresh ones. Still no waiter no apology. Once again the busy boy brought the mussels and when I opened the lid there were no mussels opened. I asked him to take them away. He said he would ask the Chef to take them off the bill.when the bill arrived they were charged. Finally we saw the waiter and he was not happy to correct the error. So disappointing. We have been here consistently every season but this was unacceptable. It seems like the staff is uncaring and the kitchen is plating too much to get it out of the kitchen. Something is terribly wrong.
My book club had a delightful evening in the beautiful courtyard setting. The service was impeccable and the menu was so enticing that my friends had a difficult time choosing an entree. I highly recommend the mushroom soup.
We want to return so we can indulge in our other choices.
This patio is one of the loveliest in SoCal !
Food is fine .
Same menu for several years , may need an update .
We were very rushed since moment we arrived, and it was not very crowded .
They were not able to find a French white wine we ordered , then found it after about 15 minutes , at room temperature, which in the desert area is not acceptable for any wine . It took 30 minutes to get it to cool down to be able to enjoy .
Apparently clicking the box indicating “Anniversary” and notating in the comments “It’s our 24th Anniversary” wasn’t enough to be acknowledged upon arrival with a kind comment, let alone glass of champagne or small offering for dessert for our special occasion. I selected the restaurant to celebrate our 24th Anniversary as we have always been impressed with the food quality and service; ,and have to say it was the least memorable of our anniversary celebrations.
