Rude waitress and terrible ahi tuna. The fish was very bland. The waitress was very smug and MIA most of the night. When asked for items to better enjoy dinner she acted like it was a problem to help. Wouldn't ever come back or recommend to a friend
Sitting directly under a speaker on the patio, the ability to hear across the table was nearly impossible. We moved inside to view the great patio without the loud volume. We have considered Lavender Bistro our local favorite for years. However, with the addition of the many speakers throughout the patio plus turning the volume well above background music, the atmosphere is dreadful for dining. Our waiter apologized and offered alternative outside and inside tables but was not allowed to reduce the volume. Nick should rethink the sound system. Multiple speakers are great allowing music to played in the background at low volume. Cranking up the volume destroys the experience of fine dining. Restaurant business is too competitive to chasing regular fans away because of the volume of the music. Too bad!
Service from Nikki was exceptional! Very personable and knowledgeable. When we go back we will ask to be seated in her area. She answered all our questions and made excellent suggestions that made the whole experience fun and memorable.
Love this place. Fabulous atmosphere. Great food. We always come back every year when we visit the Palm Springs area.
Lavender Bistro has a lovely patio area with twinkle lights, lots of lavender accents and heat lamps to take the chill off when the sun goes down. The appetizers were good and our guests enjoyed the meal and the ambience. We will go back again
beyond average food that is overpriced and way too loud of a venue with the cheesy live music
We have eaten here 2 times and both times the food has been really good. It is a busy place but once we ordered our food was out and the service is really good. love the outside. They have heat lamps so it is warm even if it is cold outside.
It was a beautiful evening with my girlfriends. Will definitely come back.
Beautiful place, good food and service. They should have vegan options though. They offered one dish they could improvise to my vegan friend.
Lavender never disappoints. It is a very busy place, so service can falter slightly, but it was still very good. Food was all delicious....all 8 of us were very pleased with the menu choices available; the food was good, nicely presented and served very hot. Bonus!! They were out of a few things and martinis were served at room temperature, which explains the 4/5 stars . Overall, we were very very pleased with our choice for dining.
The website is not current; it would be helpful if it was updated.
Lavender came highly recommended. Unfortunately, our experience was less than expected. George, our waiter disappeared for long periods. Cesar salad was fine but, entrees arrived luke warm and rubbery. The best part of the evening was leaving. Not recommended. Drive into Palm Springs and dine at Le Vallauris instead. You will not be disappointed.
We went on a Saturday evening, I had booked the table 2 weeks prior but I called 3 days ahead to see if we could sit outside and was told no, that outside seating was fully booked. When we arrived at the restaurant it was cold and windy and the hostess tried to seat us outside even though I had been told three days prior that the outdoor area was fully booked. I actually had to ask her not to seat us outside. She set us at a table near the open doors where the wind blew in and hit us constantly, leaving my elderly mother-in-law chilled and uncomfortable. Because of the chaos of the weather the restaurant seemed out of sorts, the service was just okay and the food was served on the cold side. It was an unfortunate night to come to the restaurant.
Good job all around. Good meal, nice place, excellent service (thanks Francisco). We’ll be back next time we visit La Quinta.
Always the same as in the last 10 years.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The patio is beautiful, although it was quite cool out. More heaters may be useful. Dinner was excellent. We will most certainly be back!
As usual, a very enjoyable evening. One of our favourite spots in he desert.
The food was delicious. Lots of variety and flavors. From the appetizers to the deserts we were very satisfied!
Fun place with great food and beverages. We will go back many times.
Their bar manager, Liana, was the best.
All of our food (4 dishes) looked great but came out cold. They took it back but when they brought it again it was still cold! Too bad. Nice wait staff though.
Lavender Bistro rarely disappoints. The lighted patio is charming, the service attentive and the food excellent. I always enjoy the curry; my husband loved his salmon dinner. There are different seating options both indoors and on the patio. For a special occasion, you might want to ask about more the more private table locations on the patio.
Lavender Bistro is a truly exceptional dining experience! We will return and would highly recommend dining there!
We have dined here many times and we have always had good food and great service
Looking forward to returning
As always attentive staff and excellent food
Food was good, service was good and the evening was enjoyable.
One of the most beautiful patios in the desert! Great happy hour with live music. Delicious food. Will definitely be back!
Birthday celebration and girls tennis weekend.
Delightful ambiance outside under the ficus and twinkle
lights. Tables a little close to maximize seating. Good food, ample portions. Would return.
The wait staff was very accommodating with finding solutions for food allergies. Unfortunately, the entrees were over cooked and under seasoned. The salads were tasty as was the bread. We were given complimentary dessert to make up for the dry entrees which was nice. We did not leave stuffed which we would have expected.
When we arrived at 5:30 PM, about 2/3 of the outdoor seating was available, and yet we were seated inside. We asked for outside and were told that because we had booked the day before, others who booked earlier would get those seats. I could not help feeling that we were second class citizens because we had booked through OpenTable. This is not the first time I have felt like this.
I love the setting at Lavender and had considered it my favorite restaurant. The next day I was with a friend who used to love lavender also but she said they don't go there anymore because they feel the service has declined.
Everything else about the evening was fine.
Sorry this was such a disappointment. 3 out of 4 entrees were not good as 2 were over cooked - veal & pork chop. Curry dish was meh. Great patio dining but food was just not good.
All four of us enjoyed the food. The filet of sole was particularly good, and one of our guests raved about the duck.
We have tried twice and the experience was very similar both times. It seems that there is a haste to turn over as many tables as possible ,we watched entrees coming out minutes after starters were finished both times. Our entrée was only warm as I did tell our server to slow down the pace. It probably sat under a warmer .This last time we had to ask the server to fill our wine. That should never happen ,we were never asked how our meal was as well .I expected a better experience for $200 for 2 people .The real telling observation was when we left the 3 employees at the entry hostess station didn't even say good night ,or thank you or see you again .
Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, food was tasty but was below expectations.
Beautiful location with great ambiance food very good. Very good service.
Very special to sit outside. Live music was great touch
Second time I have made the mistake of booking Lavender for a special occasion. The service is slow, unengaging and unfriendly. The staff acts like they do not care. I remain disappointed and unimpressed. I book restaurants for my company on a regular basis and will not bother to give Lavender business in the future. I have addressed my concerns with the manager and was not made to feel heard or for the issues to be of concern. When I book an outside table, I expect one. All entrees should be served together. I really don’t want to listen to your staff chat about their personal lives while I wait to get their attention for more wine. These are a few of the issues.
We have dined at Lavender since it opened 10 years ago dining there several times a season always reserving a table on the outdoor patio, a lovely setting! Nicholas the owner started the business and his father Michelle have done an excellent job in maintaining an exceptionally good restaurant over a ten year period. Starters, appetizers and entrees are always consistently very good with the service being generally very good. Lavender has good options on their wine list.
The waiter, Jerry, was charming and efficient. He recommended their wonderful sole and it more than met expectations. Water glasses were never empty - the staff was attentive without being intrusive. The outdoor seating was just lovely. We have our favorites when we visit Palm Springs and Lavender is now on our list!
The patio at the Lavender Bistro was beautiful and a perfect setting for a milestone birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the music added to the beauty of the place. So impressed that I wound up recommending this place to a friend the following day.
The Lobster Stuffed Raviolis and Wedge Salad were outstanding. The outdoor dining here is so beautiful. Love this place!
The dinning area in the garden atmosphere was great. The pace of the dinner service was excellent. The meals were slightly unusual but delicious. We loved the music during dinner. We would certainly go here any time in the area.
