The atmosphere is wonderful, and the music was lovely. My beet salad was delicious and so was the ahi tuna. Nice sizes, too.
We have dined at Lavender Bistro, our favourite restaurant in La Quinta, 4 to 5 times each "season" since it opened 10 years ago. Very good menu selections and options, quality of appetizers, starters and entrees consistently very good and generally good service by the wait staff. Ambience on the outdoor patio is great!
Always a good place to go and have great food sitting in a beautiful place
Overall a nice dining experience. Three of the four entrees were excellent, the other of mussels was dry and no broth in the pan. The waiter wanted to replace it but it had been served after the other three entrees and our guest elected to not have the entree; they did take it off the bill. An unusual occurrence for Lavender Bistro it is one of our go to places.
I have been to Lavenders a couple of time and have enjoyed the food. Very creative and delicious. On this particular visit, the service was below their usually standards. I will still go back because it is that good!!
We have been there many times with very good remarks however this visit failed in many catagories, service was slow, food overcooked for all four if us, our table was in the far back with less than appealing ambiance. We could see numerous well placed tables that were empty our entire visit so it was frustrating that they gave us one of the worse table locations. Overall disappointing visit
While on vacation in the area, we were told about the restaurant by La Quinta Brewing. We had an amazing night out with wonderful live music, great wine and perfect food. The perfect evening out!
Reservation was @ 6pm. Were given menus and seated. Took to 6:45 before taking our order. Presentation of the food serving was pathetic at best. Nothing like what is pictured in their advertising. Very disappointing!
We have visited Lavender Bistro about six times in the past two years. Up until this visit I would have said the experience has been second to none for fine dining. Although I would say this experience was fine, it was not as in the past. Our waitress, who was lovely, but had five tables. Because of this, she disappeared for long periods when she was servicing others. When she was with us she was totally attentive and engaged. We had to ask another server for assistance at one point. During our other experiences there seemed to be additional staff to support the server. This time, most of the additional staff seemed to be missing. Another stress on our waitress??? Not sure we will return as this is an expensive dining experience and I don't think we received value for our dollar this time. As in the past, our food was very good, but the food was overshadowed by our collective experience.
It was fabulous! The ambiance is absolutely delightful! The filet of sole was delicious. The flat iron steak was so so, a bit chewy and not as tasty as that in some other restaurants, the apple tart was excellent. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely return!
dining outside was so beautiful and the food was very good!
Great food and service. Enchanting experience on the patio.
Wonderful outdoor seating but a very noisy. Very good food and menu selection. Service on the slow side and prices on the high side.
We had such an amazing time we went back the very next night. The food, decor, ambiance was everything you could want in a top knotch restaurant. Can't wait to go back there in Septmenber when we go back to palm Springs again.
AMAZING SERVICES, OUR RUNNER ALWAYS DELIVERED OUR FOOD PROMPTLY ON TIME, AND THE BUSSER NEVER LET OUR GLASSES RUN OUT OF WATER ... THE SERVER WAS EXCELENT AS WELL. GREAT FOOD, GREAT WINE.
Lovely dinner. The beet salad and ravioli were amazing. Love the ambiance and music! Generally an older crowd.
Excellent! LB is a gem in the Desert. Exceptional on every level.
We dined on the patio with friends and it was a lovely evening to be outdoors. Lavender has one of the nicest patios in the La Quinta area. The food was good, not great. However, as with other times we have eaten there, the service was indifferent and inattentive. Our table for four was very uncomfortable - couldn't fit our legs under the table because of the position of the table frame. And the music was loud enough to make conversation difficult. For the price, I expect better.
Three dishes were very good . My flounder was mediocre. The jasmine rice was bland.
Have been to Lavender Bistro many times before and had always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. This visit was different. The service was poor and our waiter was very disengaged. There simply was no service. Took forever to just order a cocktail. To our utter surprise after ordering our food, it was delivered within five minutes. In other words it must have prepared earlier and held under a warming lamp. The food could not have been prepared for our specific order and the meals were very bland. We were very disappointed and will not return.
Outstanding service with fantastic atmosphere. Outdoor dining at its best...
Superb food, great service great music, great ambiance!
As always, it was superb! From the table location, food and service - everything was perfect.
This was our second time at Lavender Bistro. This time, we brought friends with us. We had a great meal in a beautiful setting! We'll be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Lavender Bistro. The four of us shared the generous calamari appetizer which was delicious. The shrimp curry, duck and brined pork chop were well prepared and presented with an array of vegetables. The sea bass special was a bit dry, but tasty. We dined outdoors in the lovely courtyard and listened to the live musician when not chatting with each other. The servers were attentive, but not over-bearing. All in all it was a very nice meal albeit a bit pricey. We would go again for a special occasion.
Perfect night out!!
Our guests dinner (the prime rib special) was returned to the kitchen three times because it was cold. After the third time he left without eating.
Very poor experience.
I have been to Lavender Bistro 3 times. The food is consistently good, fresh with a nice presentation. The atmosphere is very special with lighted trees etc. This past time we were celebrating 2 friends birthdays. The service was very disappointing. They forgot to bring requested salad dressing and a side vegetable dish that was ordered. The salad got eaten without the dressing and when we called their attention to the vegetables we were practically through the dinner and chose to cancel it. The staff seemed preoccupied with setting the tables for the following day vs being attentive to our table of 5.
I will go again, but will be more assertive in getting the attention we deserved!
Didn't expect it to be that crowded at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening. I was a bit disappointed on the scope of the menu. Would have liked some scallops or a different choice of chicken. Ambiance was great.
Wonderful service. We arrived early at sat at the bar for a drink. The bartender was very helpful with the wine list. Our server on the patio was great. The ambiance was lovely and the food was great. Definitely will go back.
DINNER WAS WONDERFUL. MY GIRLFRIEND & I HAD THE COLD LOBSTER OVER SALAD, PERFECT FOR A WARM EVENING. MY HUSBAND THOUGHT THE MUSHROOM SOUP & LOBSTER RAVIOLI WERE EXCELLENT AS WELL. WE ENJOYED THE SANCERRE TOO. THE OUTDOOR PATIO ALWAYS LOOKS SO PRETTY WITH THE LIGHTS AROUND THE TREES TOO.
Lavender never disappoints for ambience, menu, quiet live music, wine list and service. Only complaint was annoying black flies, who seemed to like curried shrimp (prawns). A five star experience nonetheless.
Loved it. It is such a welcoming setting and the staff and food are terrific. And multiple places to sit and enjoy live music, indoor or out... great job Lavender!
Lovely evening under the beautifully light trees. Scottish salmon was perfectly done and thoroughly enjoyed.
This is an amazing place...it’s our go to place every time we are in palm desert. Food, service, ambiance, wonderful soft music🎶🎶💑...everything is perfection!!
Beautiful ambience. A special place with amazing customer service.
Steak was burnt. Asked for salad never got. Asked for decaf coffee pretty sure was regular.
We loved our waiter David!
He is 1st class
Has been one of our favorites because of the ambiance. But this time the food was a real disappointment. The fish was utterly flavorless...and my wifes steak was overcooked and tough.
Service was slow and unengaging. For $250 we expect much more. Doubt we'll be back.
