Lavender Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We always make sure we get to Lavender Bistro when we come to LA Quinta. The food is consistently delicious and the outdoor dining a real plus. The only negative is the service is spotty - this time it was definitely off. Our server Javier was slow in getting to us throughout the evening and when we asked to have the kitchen plate a shared Pork Chop we were told it was too awkward for them to do it - as if it wouldn't be more awkward at the table for us to do it. He did agree when we insisted and it turned out very well. This service issue won't keep us from returning because the positive far out weighs this negative.
We have always loved Lavender for its garden atmosphere and good food. We had European guests for our 24th wedding anniversary dinner and couldn't of had a worse experience. It was embarrassing. The service was terrible and the food not much further down the line. We remember all the other great experiences we have had here as locals and were totally disappointed with this night that was supposed to be extra special for our anniversary as there are plenty of other great restaurants to choose from in the Coachella Valley. Will not go back.
sunday dinner with friends. we were seated immediately in the open dining area. water bread and wine list was brought out promptly, wine was brought out after selected. Salads were brought out fairly quick. I would not recommend the wedge salad, very small portion. The caesar is a better choice.
We ordered the main course and that took a long time to arrive, over 30 minutes. Soups were lukewarm and entree's cold. It appears there is not enough servers and support help for the amount of people dining.
Great atmosphere as always. Was disappointed that two of the items we mainly come there for was removed from the menu. Lobster bisque and the roast duck. The duck we feel was the best in the desert as we have tried it all over the area. Also the small tables for two on the outdoor patio upper level have some rock beds beside most of them. When we went to leave my wife stepped on on sender her tumbling. Tight area to move out of so it's hard not to step in them and with heels it is dangerous.
They knew it was our anniversary in advance -- irrelevant in terms of service and food, as it turned out.
My wife's entree, the half boneless roasted chicken was inedible. When you can't eat your entree, that pretty well sinks the evening -- no apologies or attempt to correct -- didn't charge, however.
Lavender was a wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary! The food was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The service was attentive, but not overdone. Perfect. The outdoor setting was so beautiful and romantic we loved it. Can't wait to return and try some new items.
This is a restaurant that we frequent and the food and ambiance are very good. The service
varies greatly from very good to pretty bad and Sat Nov 25 was disappointing. Our server, Victoria, seemed to forgot a number of things. For instance a drink order never showed up and even after appetizers it hadn't shown up and when we asked the answer was "it's coming".
When it did arrive there was no apology or mention of the time it took.
Having dined at the Lavendar Bistro last year I was looking forward to taking the family. The filet and the lamb was blah. My granddaughter loves filet and could eat hers. When the waitress was notified she didn’t offer an alternative or offer to take it off the bill. “She said oh should I throw it in the trash.” I ate about half of mine loading it with salt and pepper and my husband are very little of the lamb. It was a disappointment.
Warm, elegant...friendly and knowledgeable staff. Courtyard dining at night is magical with twinkling lights, snowy White table cloths and sparkling glassware. Great live musician did not overpower the space. Highly recommend this place. Good food too and they were happy to accommodate my gluten free requests.
