Very disappointing - we called to confirm our reservation the day before and we showed up the next evening and the restaurant was closed with no notice or call to us or signage on their door. What was really bad is that they didn’t have the courtesy to call us to tell us they had closed and we met the entertainer in the parking lot who showed up to play for the evening and he too didn’t know they had closed down quickly. He said that he had played the night before and no one called him to tell him not to come. You can’t even communicate with your employee to tell them you closed and your scheduled guests? Very poor form and impression. It would have been our first visit based on a friend’s recommendation but don’t plan on going based on this bad experience.
Love the guitar player. Wonderful dinner music. The gods is delicious. A favorite for sure. Spendy though.
Celebrated a birthday with family and friends. Our waiter was lovely and dinner was delicious!
The outdoor dining was beautiful, music was very pleasant with perfect volume. Food was excellent. We had rack of lamb and Chilean sea bass both perfect. Service was great with good timing and frequency of table visits. Of course your prices reflect the quality of the experience and I’m good with that. We will come back when we are back in the area and all of our friends will hear about you. It was such a pleasant experience to dine at your restaurant!
We are so happy with the new and improved menu. We also love the “no corkage” nights. Stay open
Calamari was over cooked and rubbery. Sea bass was also over cooked. We will be back to try again
The place is beautifully lit, and the patio area is Hugh.
Food was great and the service excellent.
Had the sea bass, cooked to perfection.
Definitely going back
The only problem was they didn't have proper spacing between our table and the one next to us. When we first arrived it was empty then later they set a party of 8 less then 2 ft. away from us. We were very uncomfortable. My wife needs to be extra careful at this time to not get anything. We had to hurry our meal to get out of there. Also saw where others were sitting back to back from other tables. They should care more about there customers.
very good tasting food but will not return because of the cost
Outstanding outside dining!
Ambience and service was amazing. For a more upscale place I would have expected the food to have been a little better.
It has a Lovely atmosphere. Definitely at the higher price end.
A terrible experience. During a Covid epidemic put my wife and I at a table next to a table of nine people. The table was 1foot from there’s. It was so loud we couldn’t even talk. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. I guess they were trying to cram as many people in the restaurant as they could before they get closed down do to COVID.
Our number one favorite restaurant in the desert !
Cannot say enough great things about this lovely restaurant. Outdoor patio was magical, with beautiful trees, twinkling lights and music. Food was phenomenal. Service was attentive, yet not over-bearing. Highly recommend.
Tables set too close together during a pandemic, but food & service were great.
Celebrated a Birthday! Food was great, service was great! We loved it!
We have been to Lavenders in the past for Happy Hour and found the live music to be overwhelming. Way too loud to carry on a conversation! We returned a second time for dinner after indoor dining had reopened and it was delightful! We admired the outdoor patio seating from inside and thought we’d like to try that if/when we returned. Well we returned to dine after Newsom restricted indoor seating so we found ourselves outside on the beautiful patio. It is well done and picture perfect however there’s 2 reasons why we won’t return until
Indoor dining is allowed again . The food and service were exceptional! The comfort was not. We sat on cheap “ padded” chairs at a table crammed against plants and to say it was uncomfortable is an understatement ! The restaurant is pricey so providing such cheap seating is really unacceptable.
My second complaint is the volume of the live music ! They were placed across the entire patio from our table but the music was so loud, it made conversation nearly impossible.
Music in a restaurant is generally background, not dominating the atmosphere unless you are up and dancing.
Disappointing that these two aspects ruin a $200 meal :(
Beautiful night outside great table & waiter. Food mediocre at best!
Great space and great staff
My girlfriends and I went for dinner on a quick escape from LA lockdown, and it was such a lovely night and dining experience! The patio with twinkling lights and music is such a good vibe, the mango-tuna tartar appetizer was delish, the lavender salad never disappoints, and my rare ahi tuna over basmati rice was outstanding! Our server, David, was attentive without being intrusive. An all-around GREAT night.
Great table, great ambience and fabulous food.
Gorgeous ambiance! All the food was delicious, great service
Patio dining at it's best. Beautiful lights make a romantic and festive mood. The evening was chilly but numerous heat lamps warmed our table. The menu has a generous selection and the food is delicious.
Plenty of parking and convenient location in La Quinta.
Celebrating Thanksgiving with out of town family. Fantastic food - sashimi, tuna tower, short ribs, dates, flat iron steak, lobster salad. David, our server, first class. Beautiful ambiance patio.
Memorable outdoor patio seating with string lights and lots of greenery for ambiance and privacy. The menu is varied for all palates and sensitivities. Full house at 5:15 and continued throughout the evening. The service was a bit rushed at first but, by evening’s end, we were all smiling. Be sure to share a few desserts such as the vanilla cake with berries. Finally, a bit pricey but worth it.
Lovely restaurant. Great patio dinner with live musician. Went for thanksgiving dinner and everything was great except my main course, The waiter suggested that I order the turkey. I was not happy with this as it seem like I was eating hospital food. Very blan. My wife had the salmon and it was very good. Oh well ,next time I won't as the waiter for recommendations.
Our dinners were overpriced and the quality inferior. The turkey dry with tasteless stuffing and two balls of potatoes. Not even pretty on the plate. The pasta dry & boring. Frankly, the regular menu would have been a better offering. Desert was out of a box.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner!! Thank you!
The setting is beautiful. Live music, outdoors, lights, excellent setup. The food was ok. Some was good, but some were disappointments. Service was good. Overall, we had a fantastic time.
We had a wonderful time at Lavender Bistro. Amazing outdoor dining. The food was great.
We visited Palm Springs and drove off the beaten path to visit the Lavender Bistro. It exceeded our expectations… A beautiful outdoor patio! And, lots of lavender!
I rarely leave reviews, and I'm doing so here because the ambiance and the food are such a disconnect that I felt it was important to share. The restaurant is gorgeous, and the staff was wonderful from beginning to end. My only issue was the food.
We ordered bacon-wrapped dates as a starter, and the bacon was overcooked, like the kind of well done when you microwave bacon - bone dry. Difficult to cut, as it crumbled under a knife, and not very enjoyable to eat. They were served on greens with blue cheese dressing, a nicer appetizer would be stuffing the date with the blue cheese.
Our main course was the braised short ribs, and this dish was really disappointing, especially for the price. Our 2 orders arrived at the table as one very large chunk of beef set on whipped potatoes. The beef was cut into a cube about 3"x3"x4" and was not cooked well; that is, the choice of cut did not have the fat that is customary in the short-ribs and was very tough, and difficult to cut, difficult to eat. Additionally, it was not particularly tasty, and the red-wine reduction sauce was minimal. We took it home for the dogs.
I truly hope this was just an off night, as the ambiance is so lovely, I would love to come again, I am just hesitant, as the food was not up to par.
As always, the food was perfect! The atmosphere and service superb! Our server, David, was very personable and lots of fun! Thank you Lavender Bistro was such a tremendous dining experience.
Wonderful food as always, tables too close together and 3 large parties (14-16 people). Did not feel it was safe distance. We were only two so more secluded than others.
Wonderful place to eat at anytime but especially great for our anniversary! The patio is beautiful and the ambiance is fantastic! The food and service is outstanding! Our go to place in the desert when we are here when we want to celebrate a special occasion. We think it is the best restaurant in the desert!
Our favorite place in the Coachella Valley. Whenever we have visiting family or guests, this is the preferred restaurant. This visit was everything we expected. Everything was exceptional.
Lavender's patio is a great solution to dining during the corona virus. The food is a touch too rich for me. I prefer my sautéed scallops with a more simple presentation than a creamy risotto, but I suspect I could ask for a modification to the preparation.
