Lautrec is one of the most elegant and refined restaurants I have ever been in. The setting is beautiful. Romantically lit with beautiful French art on the walls. The atmosphere is one of luxury. The service is utterly impeccable and your ever desire is quickly responded to.

The four course prix fixe dinner, in my opinion, is an excellent bargain. The artistic presentation and careful attention to preparation is without peer.

We had a table of four. We all enjoyed the corn gazpacho....sweet with a bounty of large pieces of crab meat. The salads were gloriously fresh. I had Waygu beef...beautifully cooked and presented. I was not crazy about the dessert with granita and vanilla creme, but the chocolate truffles were rich and magnificently flavored! My mouth waters just remembering them.

An outstanding place to dine. If you ever get the opportunity, take it!

We had a wonderland dinner at Lautrec during our stay at Nemacolin. First and foremost, Lautrec is an experience. The menu is fixed with choices in each category. You cannot order a la carte. The prices are either $115 or $$175 (without drinks) per person depending on the menu type you choose. The food was largely excellent. We especially were impressed with the main courses. Portions are small for each course-and I mean small. The wagyu beef main course is two slices about 2 inches long. Delicious, but tiny. The scallops and chicken were amazing. There were a couple “misses”. The panzella bread pudding was not enjoyable. It was tablet of very dense “bread pudding” embedded in cottage cheese inside a whole tomato . The tomato was a bit mealy. Also the chèvre and honey dessert was a bit tasteless. The chocolate dessert was wonderful. Candy and sweets cart at the end of the meal was a lovely touch. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter as he was very entertaining! If you are looking for a dining experience-this is a great place. If you are looking for a meal-you might be disappointed.

this is a destination restaurant that unfolds like an adventure with delightful, delicious and whimsical surprises. We came to celebrate our 5th yr wedding anniversary and it was a stylish and attentive way to do it. We loved the heirloom tomato salad the best. The wine pairing was thoughtful and sommelier explained well without us feeling intimidated. My husband normally doesn’t like wine but he loved this meal with the pairing! Thank u chef and all the excellent service! Well deserved accolades.

Food was wonderful! Service was okay- water glasses got empty and waiter seemed rushed, never came by to check on us. Many other wait staff attended the table, so overall the service was good. Main entree was small but dessert was a large serving, so we left full. A good experience, but overpriced. Nice to go once.......the flavors of the prepared dishes were fabulous.

One of the most exceptional fine dining experiences I have ever had and fun too (I'll leave it at that so you can be surprised like we were). The chef here is amazing! Dishes were creative, unusual and quite delicious. Worth going well out of your way to have dinner here as long as you can stomach a $200+ per person dinner - in all a fair price for the meal we had. A real restaurant gem!

I thought the food was overrated and not worth the price. Most of the courses had too much salt The wine pairing was not worth the price because the pours were extremely small. The service and the ambiance were outstanding. I would not return to this restaurant

Had the 7 course meal where you picked 10 foods you liked and the chef made us a meal based on what we liked. My friend had a food allergy and the chef did a great job making sure what she got was free from any allergens. As a bonus we got to meet the chef!

Outstanding meal. Didn’t appreciate the “upsell” pressure every step of the way from champagne to upgrading to the seven course meal and adding supplements. I felt like the server treated me like I was lower class when I simply ordered the four course prix-fix and wine pairings.
Other than our lead server, the rest of the staff was outstanding, with great explanations of the cuisine for each course. Sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list was one of the most extensive I have ever seen. Try the wine pairings with your meal!
Still on the fence? I do recommend eating here, just plan on paying close to $600 including tip - much more if they convince you to upgrade. If you are more of a gourmand then gourmet, go next door to Rockwell’s. You will probably spend half as much and eat twice as much.

Food, service, ambiance outstanding. But our party regretted going for 7 courses, it was just too much food. For those considering this treat, I strongly recommend just 4 courses, it’s a subset of the 7 course dishes, and you can always come back a second time!

This restaurant was wonderful. We went for my birthday and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was romantic. The service was impeccable. We decided to do the 7 course meal where the chef prepares dishes based on 10 items that you choose. I enjoyed the experience of not knowing what would be served. Everything was delicious. It's definitely the perfect restaurant for a special occasion.

This was our first time at Lautrec. We chose to stay at Nemacolin Woodlands in part due to the reputation of Lautrec, Pennsylvania's only 5-star restaurant. We expected to be amazed, and were not disappointed! One of the things on my "bucket list" was to eat at a 5-star French restaurant. Go figure that we traveled to southwestern PA to do so. We chose the most extensive (and expensive) option for the menu, the "Leap of Faith", where the Chef makes the menu decisions on a seven course meal. Each course is paired with a different wine matched to that course's food. Chef Kristin did not disappoint! We were treated to foods we never imagined, and my wife and I are both "foodies". The dinner was paired with a different wine for each course, which matched perfectly. Each course was a surprise; we did not know what was coming next...the anticipation of each next course was really a neat part of the experience. Although the final tab was not cheap, it was worth every penny to experience of such fantastic and creative food!

Wow! Just wow... from the moment we walked in Josh took me to my seat. Hubby and I sat down looking out the window to what looked like a perfectly painted picture yet it was the scenic view overlooking the venue. First Terry, he is a professional and has found exactly what he not only is amazing at but is passionate about. He is what you want in a fine dining server. Perfectly describes everything and allowed for time between courses. The sommelier, Wade, another wonderful spot in my dinner. He was passionate and was thrilled to provide us the premier wines in the cellar. Food - started with a course of Caviar (yum) and then we did the leap of faith (anything goes) chefs choice. Every course was better than the next. The wines were picked perfectly to balance the food. It was perfect. One of the best meals I have had. It ranks in the top fine dining experiences but coupled with the service it was the best. We will be back.

Several dishes came out cold, portions were small (small for a prix fixe menu) and the server was rude. Did not provide an “experience” rather, a few a small cold plates.. in and out in an about hour which was a shame for a 30th bday celebration. Sommelier was great, would have loved to had to enjoy a second bottle of wine. Left feeling very underwhelmed and hungry- not what you’d expect at this price point.

We absolutely highly recommend Lautrec. Chef Kristin Betterworth is outstanding!!! We were amazed how marvelous each course was...even with one Gluten Free person!
