We went to celebrate Fathers Day before Astros game on Sunday and thought we'd receive the same quality of food as other Laurenzo's location. Hoped for a nice dinner and quality food. We were the only table of people and told only part of menu available. Roberto our waiter was very nice but it took an hour to receive food (only people there) and for expensive dinner we had only received a very low quality steak. No sides included and spinach and artichoke duo had bad smell and wasn't edible. Disappointed to take my husband there for bad experience. Spend way too much and could have had better at the ballpark. I do not complain ever but was so very disappointed. Will NOT be returning. Very sad.
The food was good , but the waiter and bartender could use some more training!
We made reservations at for 9:30 pm. When we got there apparently they didn't have our table ready and then told us the kitchen closes at 10PM. There was this band playing so it was really hard to hear the waiter. The food was a bit over cooked. This Laurenzo's is not like the others. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Very quiet. Food was OK but the restaurant was empty.
Since Landmark took over management, we have noticed an undeniable downward trend in management. For instance, they have in three occasions been totally unaware of valid promotions they are running. Furthermore, when they agreed to honor the promo (after SHOWING IT TO THEM ON THE WEB), then they were SOLD OUT of the item offered. I hope they get their act together! People who have become accustomed to Laurenzo's service will not tolerate this slippage!
PET FRIENDLY PATIO. Fun indoors or out. Dozen TV's for sports. The service and food were perfect. Our waiter, Andy, knocked himself out to do a great job. Pet Friendly outdoor dining and a gifted guitarist with just the right volume made this a Brunch to remember, even before the brilliant and generous breakfast servings arrived. The Eggs Purgatory came with a kick, but just right, along with perfect sausage links cooked crispy, toast, fruit and potatoes - all for a surprising low price and no sacrifice of quality. The sunny side up eggs came with three thin perfect crepe pancakes and hot syrup, crispy bacon, fruit, potatoes and toast-all to perfection. Then there is the $5 Carafe or 1$ Mimosa or the $3 Bloody Mary. A great Brunch experience, with easy parking, cool outdoor patio, and comfortable TV lounging for sports.
Food was good but pricing was a little high for the portion size/quality & service/ambiance. Mgmt must assume folks are using discounted gift cards so it's a negative if one is not.
It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening, but that gave us really good service. I had a prime rib sandwich that was very good. My wife's had an enchilada that was enormous. There were two for the order with rice and beans. She liked it, but could barely finish the enchiladas and didn't touch the sides. No reason to not come back, but no burning desire to return either.
Food was quite good. My French Dip sandwich was good, with an excellent horseradish sauce. My wife had the chicken paillard salad, which they said was excellent. Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive, I have good suggestions about the menu, and kept our water glasses filled (which is a pet peeve of mine).
The only issue was that the restaurant was empty! We had 6:30 PM reservations, and left around 7:30 PM, and we didn't see anyone else inside the restaurant. There were some people out on the patio, but not many. Perhaps this is a better late-night restaurant for the younger set that lives in Midtown.
The service was very slow, but I think they only had 1 server for the entire restaurant. The food was good, but it was overshadowed by tv's poor service.
Very poor service and we were one of two tables only
Overpriced. $13 for a small bowl of queso? That's about 300% higher than the average Mexican restaurant. And it wasn't very good queso. Nachos are nachos and my wife's pizza was like any other pizza.
Went there for Mother's Day, got there a bit early ate outside on the patio, simply delightful. The food and service was excellent. The inside dining was very attractive as well.
Prime Rib was very tasty. Very nice cracked pepper crust.
Food was good, service was impeccable. One of us ordered a burger "EXTRA" well done & it came out red all around. Considering we were the only table in the restaurant for 2 hours this should have been an easy request. Will continue to visit the Washington location, but not back to midtown.
Great food & bar service! Demeris & Adam are great! Food is always good. I've been several times and will definitely be back!
Mexican but no chips n salsa? Also
No Mexican hot sauce
Before the symphony meal. We enjoyed the variety of menu choices. Andy was attentive and responsive to our needs. We will go again!
Fair, the place is depressing for lunch because it's so dark and poorly decorated. The other location is 10x better.
My girlfriend and I decided to go out for dinner on a Friday night and we ended up at Laurenzo's. Upon entering, we were seated immediately at a table of our choosing. Needless to say, the dining area was not busy at all. There were some people dining outside listening to live music and there a small number of patrons at the bar. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and mixed fajitas and both were prepared to our satisfaction. Overall, it was a favorable dining experience and the location itself is in walking distance to other bars.
Consistently good food and top-notch service. We have never been disappointed! Ask for Pedro - he's an excellent waiter!
Parking is easy, great location, great staff, excellent food!
Location better suited to a El Tiempo. Midtown is a young crowd & Laurenzo's is prob too expensive for them. Parking is a problem too. I will go back to original Laurenzo's on Washington next time.
Had a good meal with fun friends. The weather was perfect to sit outside, which is rare in Houston. All of us had salads....and they were excellent. Clam chowder was also good.
I would encourage you to try this new spot for the Laurenzo family (El Tiempo, Laurenzo's, etc.)
Awesome food and service. Roberto was really friendly and very efficient. We asked to be seated in a quiet area and he really came through. Really nice brunch menu and food was first class. We will definitely be back.
The Brisket Queso and Brisket Ravioli were excellent! They had a live band tonight that was pretty good as well. Service was just above average. A few miscues, but nothing major.
Overall wasn't crowded, which was a surprise for a Saturday night. I would definitely recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Laurenzo's bar and grill. I would definitely recommend the lasagna and the Sunday gravy spaghetti. The only negative comment that I have is there's almost zero accommodation for young children. E.g., there are no "kids menus" with the mazes and whatnot. Yes, they have high chairs and booster seats, but no crayons or other diversions usually offered to children at restaurants.
I had the prime rib french dip sandwich with sauteed spinach instead of fries for lunch at Laurenzo's today. I have to say, it was absolutely incredible. I look forward to going back and trying other dishes. The menu looks awesome!
Ordered the Pan Seared Salmon Salad and it was delicious! Love the bar area! Great place to meet after work!
I'm never disappointed in Laurenzo's! My hat is tipped to our wonderful waiter, Pedro, and to the gracious treatment we receive by Hugo.
Food was excellent, but service needs polishing. They must learn the correct order of serving the food. The Spicy Paloma cocktail was too sweet, had no spice & rasted like the a virgin drink. Also the bartenders had no charm & none of them knew what Port is!! Will not return in the near future. They need more training!
Adam was a GREAT server - highly recommend. Great brunch - we went for the dog friendly patio and would return again for the good food and great service as long as dog friendly!
It was very good, but only three or four tables were occupied on a Monday evening. Our waiter said business has been slow. It's in a bit of a funny location, but certainly deserves more people to go there.
Consistently great! The food, the service, the atmosphere - LB&G never disappoints! Our favorites are the Prime Rib, Sunday Gravy, and Brisket sandwich. Anxious to try more of the menu items!
They cater to vegetarian dietary restrictions with a smile. Fresh guac that you can mix up yourself to your liking.
Great meal at a wonderful place
My wife and I at there on a Saturday night and made reservations. Walked in and we were seated immediately. And all downhill from there. The waitress took my wife's order first and then mine. And then asked my wife what she would like to order. It couldn't have been more than a minute that she asked her initially and she apparently forgot she asked. She had written her order down. So...we order drinks and my whiskey comes out with ice that I ordered with no ice. They fixed that. Our food came out next and my wife received the wrong side dish. She ordered gumbo and they brought something else. They fixed that too. My prime rib came out. I asked for a steak knife since I only had a butter knife. They brought it out. Food was ok. Not nearly as good as the Laurenzo's on Washington. Our waitress brought our ticket but it wasn't really our ticket. It was someone else's with their credit cards in it. So I told her and she brought ours over and took theirs back. Our waitress was very friendly. Everything just seemed to be off for her that night. It was our first visit and we won't probably won't go back. The food portions are small and the two whiskeys I ordered were the smallest pours I've seen anywhere. We have always had great service and food at the Washington location. And blue cheese stuffed olives if you're into that sort of thing. I'm not an unreasonable person when I done out but when you pay $100 for a meal and drinks you just expect a quality experience and not one thing was quality for us that night.
Parking is not good but we had the hostess validate and parked for free in parking garage on Saturday night ... thank you
Lots of TV's for sporting events, active bar. They honored our request for a quiet table and didn't rush us as we had a long visit with old friends/
Came here on your grand opening night...thought crawfish would be available but that was the night before...thus, no crawfish. It was also part of my bday celebration...shared that with the waiter but I suppose it was of no importance to him...he was for the most part decent but the loudness of the place hindered us from hearing him very clearly and thus this contributed to my scoring less than a 5star. Brisket Ravioli was small portion and the ravioli seemed to have very little actual brisket inside. My son ordered a sandwich and it topped the dish that the waiter recommended, not good! The comp items were good and appreciated. Drinks were not weak but the anticipation is they will be after you've been open a few months - DON'T do it!
Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would return but know that consistency is what we look for! Consider adding a fair portion of loose brisket atop the ravioli for affect. The sliced toast wedge was a weak garnish and the dish lacked color because of it. Consider a sprig of fresh Basil leaf or even julienned scallions. And of course maintain your drinks, ambiance and cleanliness (next to Godliness). Also, be mindful that the other location on Washington has a terrible odor (throughout but most notably in the bar area) and we no longer visit there because of it. Cleanliness is paramount!!!...oh and Congrats on the new location. The band was good too :)
