We went to Laurel to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The tasting menu was outstanding, highly creative. The portions were perfect. I didn’t leave feeling stuffed. Would return in a heartbeat!

This was our second trip to Laurel. We went on my birthday, and Chef Nick had a birthday message for me on the menu they give you to take home at the end of the meal. The meal was innovative and delicious. Only 1-5 bites per course, and we were satisfied after 7 courses. Each bite is packed with flavor! I missed having Chef Nick come out to the tables as he did on our first visit. That does not take away from how wonderful the staff and the service are. Go to Laurel and enjoy a unique experience.

Would be a 3 star ⭐⭐⭐ Michelin Restaurant if Philly used Michelin ratings.

The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of the food the you are getting for the price of the tasting menu is great. It might seem expensive, but I assure it is well worth it! Top 3 restaurant and dining experiences Ive had in Philadelphia hands down!

Truly, one of the best, if not THE best dining experiences of my life. Every dish was absolutely sublime, service was knowledgeable and attentive, and the ambiance understated elegance

One of the best meals I've ever had and I literally ate 3 and 1 Michelin Star Restaurants in San Sebastian, not 6 mos ago. I had eaten here (albeit on Valentine's Day) ~ 2 years prior and didn't find it as memorable. I received a gift card so we decided to come back just spur of the moment and my wife hasn't stopped talking about it for 2 days.

The food started off delicious and innovative. Then halfway through the chef paired fish with chicken stock (!) which completely over powered the entire experience. Then came the gnocchi, as an add on. That was over cooked, as any Italian would know. The lamb was delicious. I was quite excited to dine here because of the hype but definitely not worth the price.

We had a nice meal, but unfortunately came down ill shortly after leaving. We aren't sure which course, but both my wife and I were violently ill. After calling to mention the experience and suggesting they check the food, the person I spoke said "thanks" and just hung up. Frankly, very disappointed in that response, it is unacceptable for an establishment that holds themselves in such high regard.

We have been wanting to dine at Laurel for a few years. We know of Nicholas Elmi from Top Chef and a food festival we attended a few years ago. I must say the meal was definitely worth the wait. We took my in laws from Colorado to Laurel as a belated Christmas present. We all had an amazing experience. The sophisticated flavors and nuances to each tasting course impressed all of us. The small and simple ambiance was very comfortable and the service was impeccable. Laurel certainly is at a fairly high price point but it is well worth the indulgence.

Hands down the best meal I’ve eaten in Philly, probably better than any meal I’ve had in New York. It rates up there with a dinner I ate in Paris when I went there. Absolutely divine.

Laurel provides a 7 course tasting menu that is delicious and inventive, however if one is anticipating having a satisfying meal, Laurel is not the place to go. The tasting menu is just that--it provides a taste of the various offerings and nothing more. Afterwards we had to stop elsewhere to feel like we'd had enough to eat. With so many wonderful and affordable restaurants in Philly it makes sense to skip this one. Not much for the money!

We went for a belated birthday. We have done numerous tasting menus in the last several years and this one ranks in the top 3, possibly ranks as the best. Not just one dessert but 4, diverse and tasty dishes, excellent staff, worth the $

My husband and I were visiting Philly to celebrate our wedding anniversary and reserved a table at Laurel for the occasion. We'd dined there on a previous visit so we knew we'd have a special meal, and we were right. The tasting menu comes with some optional add-ons, and being that it was a special occasion, we ordered both of them, gnocchi and wagyu beef. It was a lot of food, however, we're still glad that we went for both since they were fabulous! The beef was expertly seared, rich, flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the gnocchi were light and savory. Everything else was also delicious with some surprising touches. The wine pairing was very good as well. The atmosphere is casual for such a fine dining destination and service was attentive and personable. If we lived in town we wouldn't wait for a special occasion to return. While not inexpensive it's a great value for the quality and well worth the cost.

Just a fantastic dining experience. I like the BYOB option, but don't forget the cocktails either--try the Dark Star--wow! Each course was a delight. Beautifully presented with unique flavors. The Marlin, sea urchin, duck and lamb were highlights but I have to say every dish was special. Desserts were really creative and tasty. Great service--very knowledgeble and approachable servers. A bit of a tight space but well worth the visit.

Our second time at Laurel and, overall, we preferred the earlier option of a carte dining. The duck and the lamb courses seemed out of balance - it may be because of the surfeit of flavors in an 8 course meal since we opted for the additional gnocchi with black truffles.
We may have been better off with a 5 course meal and no additional charge for the gnocchi with truffles! The dessert offerings with marshmallows, candy, despite a tasty small portion of chocolate mouse, were a definite low point.

The meal was very nicely paced. When we left, we were surprised to realize we were there for 3hrs. They catered well to my husband who is a bit picky, substituting seafood for vegetarian options. It was fun getting to eat both mine and his versions. Professional staff. Very creative menu. Few ingredients in couple dishes, didn’t go well together for my taste, but overall a very enjoyable meal.

Visited Laurel for the second time- first time was 3.5 years ago and we weren't overly thrilled with the meal. This time however, I can say it's been my favorite meal I have had in Philly in years! Everything was absolutely delicious and presented in a fun/creative way. HIGHLY recommend for foodies!

Laurel is a special restaurant that deserves the acclaim it receives for its food, service and ambiance. My girlfriend and I enjoyed a tremendous dining experience to celebrate her birthday on Saturday night. Laurel features a 7-course tasting menu with some optional add-ons. We opted to add the handmade gnocchi as well as the optional wine pairing. It is not inexpensive - but is worth a splurge for a special occasion.

This was our second visit. The excellence of first visit was not a fluke. The staff amazing, addressed our food issues and the kitchen made special adjustments we needed. The presentations, the aroma as each plate is set in front of you, the tastes, the gastro surprises. The multiple desserts are amazing, and so darn cute, upon arrival we clapped!! For a larger group, try the outdoor space. If you dine in Philly a lot or save your pennies for a special and delicious experience, Laurel is the place to go!
