Forced to eat outside thanks to our mayor’s lovely new rules. Not enough heaters- they offered us blankets. Spent $500 for a date with a overpriced wine tasting and extremely small courses. Will never come again because I’m leaving the city for good. They said they are closing for the month anyway so I assume they just tried to make due with what they had in supplies. Horrible dinner.
It was our anniversary and the team at Laurel did a fantastic job! We will definitely be returning! Maureen and Nick did a phenomenal job taking care of our party. The food was mind-blowing, and I couldn't have asked for better service. I am really looking forward to our next visit!
Everything was great. Food was wonderful, service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was pleasant, given that with covid, we were eating outside in November.
Excellent all around
This restaurant has always been special because of their attention to detail and the quality of the dishes they serve. They go above and beyond in this Covid environment to keep its patrons and staff super safe. We had no concerns, whatsoever.
We enjoyed 10 courses as we added the signature supplement Gnocchi with Truffles. Early seafood offerings include paddlefish, scallop, blue crab, and more, finishing with our two meat courses of pheasant and then finally venison. Truly the best venison dish we have ever had. The pheasant was a close second in flavor to the venison.
It seems that Laurel builds upon each dish that takes your taste buds to the next level. We picked and chose certain dishes to be pair with wine, and they were standout pairings that truly completed our food.
The menu offerings published on Open Table are not 100% accurate, but neither is the one on Laurel's website. There are always brilliant surprises, but if you have any doubts, call the restaurant. We love Laurel and if the city doesn't shut down indoor dining (stupidly) again, we'll return again during the holidays. Well done to the team at Laurel.
excellent service, excellent food, fabulous ambience.
Fantastic course after fantastic course. Great for our anniversary.
This was a meal that helped us forget everything crazy going on in this world. For two hours life felt normal- the amazing food made us forget we were bundled up in layers while we ate outside. The service was fantastic and the staff were wonderful. We went into the meal understanding that the quality may suffer because the of the colder temperatures outside but we were wrong. Everything was perfect.
So glad to get back to Laurel, amazing everytime!
Everything was perfect!
It was a perfect evening as always!
Amazing food and service!
Creative cooking and Covid safe. The tasting menu is varied and delicious. There are fewer tables, but the masked staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Don’t miss it.
This is our fourth time visiting Laurel. We love coming here. The food, service, and overall experience is always amazing. Can’t wait to come back again!
This place is special on all levels. Pray they survive.
We ate outside and it was lovely. The food and service were as good as ever. The small private tent was cozy and the space heaters made it cozy. What a lovely experience!
Amazing food and amazing staff! I cannot say enough good things.
I had dietary restrictions and thought I would still enjoy the meal with the replacements. I didn't to be honest but I'm sure if you ate all red meat you would enjoy it more.
Excellent service and the food and wine pairing was fantastic!
Laurel was such a treat from start to finish. The team has done such an incredible job to keep the restaurant running so smoothly. Truly an amazing experience.
Love this place. Fine dining at a high level. Awesome wine selection. And the prix menu is just right. Kate, the hostess is very nice.
Nick Elmi and Team Laurel are exceptional! The food is creative, surprising and most importantly tasty! We felt absolutely safe, everyone wearing masks and splash glasses. Social distancing was always maintained. We have dined at Laurel many times and the experience is consistently positive.
Absolutely amazing- Best ambiance for outdoor seating. So cute & quaint! 10/10 loved everything.
I think the price is too high for the food you get. I have been in much better restaurants where I paid much less. The service was not as good as I expected for that price. We had to wait quite a lot between the different plates. I do not recommend this at all. It was disappointing, and the worst part is that it was a birthday present to my boyfriend.
What a taste sensation! Paired down 6 course only offering due to Covid, but every course was something special. Egg with caviar course was a stand out and perhaps one of the best things I’ve eaten in Philadelphia.
Incredible food and menu that was well thought and executed flawlessly. Each course built wonderfully upon the last. Service was prompt and informative. Ambience was quiet and intimate.
Everything was exceptional from start to finish: food, service, presentation.
We love this place and we were thrilled to be able to dine “inside” after 7 months.
a very cool experience. glad we were able to go, even in this crazy time. Felt safe and well taken care of, and the food was so fun and exciting. Not like any other restaurant I've ever been to.
This is one of the most special restaurants in Philadelphia without a doubt. This was their first night back after a 6 month hiatus due to covid-19 and it was spectacular, I can’t imagine how good they will be once they get back in the groove! Outstanding!
Laurel is one of my favorite restaurants. Food, presentation, and service is always top notch.
I'm disappointed with the choice to remove the byob option, which is why I took away one star. IMO, it decreases the 'value'. I go to Laurel for the excellent food experience, and I was happy bringing my own bottle of wine to complement that.
We tried the 9 course tasting. The food was amazing. Each course somehow topped the previous one. We can’t wait to go back when the menu changes!
Food was good. The portions too small. Service was not up to the expectations. Poor communication regarding pricing of day specials. Overall a good one night experience but not a restaurant to repeat.
The creativity of the menu is from chef is superb! His dishes and the wine pairings are perfect. This place is inspired. The courses were a revelation with fresh ingredients, excellent timing and chef actually taking time to serve the tables one if not two of the courses. A must if you are in town. I was there for a visit and promised that I would visit first opportunity I get
Amazing food great experience. Would definitely recommend
The food was exquisite and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the 9 course tasting menu and added the gnocchi. Overall it was an wonderful dining experience.
Amazing 6 course tasting with wine pairing.
Excellent service and food
World class food, knowledgeable staff, and great value for the money!
